the chaos started to unfold in the last 3 1/2 hours. the presidential candidate just talked about his choice to cancel that event and call the whole thing off. >> we made a decision, even though our freedom of speech is violated totally. we made a decision not to go forward. i don't want to see anybody get hurt. >> in the last hour, president obama and ted cruz spoke out about what happened there. the president said he's not shocked by that. and cruz said that trump bears responsibility for the culture being set. after the announcement that tonight's announcement was canceled protesters erupted into cheers, but supporters shouted we want trump. many groups clashed and some threw punches. trump has come under fire the past few days for a violent incident. video from wednesday night in fayetteville. as he was leaving, deputies did

picture is going around this way. and now police are trying to figure out how it is in the hands of teachers. >> it's sad when something goes public. >> saddened to hear of this incident happening again in a school. >> we've seen it go through the local high schools around here. it doesn't seem to quit. >> according to the search warrant, a nude photo at a female student got into the hands of two teachers. the teen told police she took the picture and sent it to her boyfriend, also a student at the school. he told officials he was not the only recipient, but couldn't remember who else got it. the photo came through e-mail from an unknown sender and davidson police are trying to track who sent it. according to the warrant, because the incident took place cyber bullying. >> i think some of that he has kids should be punished to the full extent.

that people were responding to questions about, and before the board as quickly as possible. >> the results also show people in huntersville, cornelius, davidson, and matthews favor neighborhood schools. new at 11:00, police are looking for the people that robbed two teenagers at gunpoint in uptown charlotte. cmpd says the two thieves cornered them around midnight yesterday as they were walking down east 6th street near time warner cable arena. police say the thieves got away with their phones, their keys, and cash. they have not released descriptions of the suspects. new at 11:00, rock hill police charged a middle school student that brought a bb gun to class. administrators got a tip that a middle school student had the revolver style bb gun in his backpack. he also had cartridges. police charged him with carrying a weapon on school property. tonight, a 21-year-old man is behind bars on a quarter

police say he opened fire on a north carolina highway patrolman's home in alexander county. deputies say two of his neighbors got into a fight and one grabbed a rifle from the other's hands. investigators say that neighbor, ethan young, retrieved a second rifle and fired shots. hitting the patrolman's home. today, we talked to the patrolman's wife. >> i was thankful that we weren't here. overwelmed that it had happened here to my house. grateful no one was hurt. >> young is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and felony discharging a weapon. >> tonight, former first lady, nancy reagan is in her final resting place next to her husband. loved ones and dignitaries said their final good-byes in california this afternoon. >> a crowd of a thousand people were at her funeral service,
