following several fights inside of the event. university police, chicago police, and state officials all stepped in. trump says he met with police for 30 minutes before he decided to shut down the event. police told cnn he did not consult with them before canceling. >> i felt it was just safer. i don't want to see think get hurt. i think it was the right thing to do. >> after trump canceled the rally the situation grew even more chaotic. at least two police officers were injured. one of those officers has blood running down his face. one of the officers was hi in the head with a bottle and required several stitches. both have nonlife threatening injuries this morning. ron emmanuel released a statement last night.

really the best chance for seeing any rain today will be in the mountains. it's already a warmer start. as soon as you step outside we're in the mid to upper 50s to low 60s. waking up this morning by 7:00 mid 60s. and going through the afternoon we warm up quickly. if you are heading out to the white water center, we are going to see temperatures warming into the upper 70s, rain chances slim but i will have the timeline of when we can see a better chance of rain moving in. that is coming cmpd responded to a pedestrian hit in north charlotte. police say it happened around 1:45 this morning. the pedestrian has serious injuries. we are asking police several questions this morning including if the driver of the vehicle will face any charges and what led up to that pedestrian being hit. a nude picture of a teenager in davidson spread through her school even to some of her teachers.

at 5:00 yesterday. elsa gillis spoke to parents in disbelief and learned why it could be considered cyber bullying. >> reporter: according to this warrant, the teenage girl said she is deeply shocked that this picture is going around this way. and now police are trying to figure out how it got into the hands of teachers. >> really appalled. >> it's sad when something like that becomes really public. >> reporter: residents were saddened to hear of this incident happening again in a school. >> we have seen it go through local high schools around here and doesn't seem to quit. >> reporter: according to a search warrant, a nude photo of a 17-year-old female student at the community school of davidson got in the hands of two teachers. the teen said she took the picture and sent it to the boyfriend. he told officials he was not the only recipient but couldn't remember who else got it. the photo came through e-mail of an unknown sender. according to the warrant

what lead up to a crash between a cats bus and another vehicle. it happened around 9:00 last night. police say two people and a driver were on the bus which goes to the airport. three people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. rock hill police charged a middle school student they say brought a bb gun to class. he had the bb gun in his backpack. he also had cartridges to fire it. he is now charged with carrying a weapon on school property. channel 9 learned more about the 27,000 online surveys filled out about student assignment. parents used the survey to tell cms priorities for their students. the highest amount of answer came from district six.

officials say the two were shackled in that prison van earlier this week before shaw escaping. they say convicted murder joseph cruz was taken into custody last night. he's been serving a life sentence for first degree murder. the the other inmate lionel claw is still on the run this morning. the inmates were able to slip away while they were traveling in a transport van wednesday night. today charlotte city leaders will learn if they are one step closer to winning millions of dollars for transportation projects. five finalists will be announced in the national smart city challenge with a chance to get a $40 million federal grant. each finalists will receive $100,000 to hone their proposals for the final selection process in june. charlotte is up against 76 other cities. they pitch their best ideas to make transportation safer, easier, and more reliable.

if you step outside this weekend, you're likely going to feel the effects of the spring allergy season. i know i do. local doctors told us they have been busy treating patients already. dr. ruben be patel says it's actually a late start to the spring allergy season but the symptoms seem to be worse. our meteorologist says the main culprits are elm, cedar, and oak tree pollens. doctors advise showering at the end of the day to wash the pollen off and going outside at certain times. they also encourage people to run or plan activities in the evenings. i know i've been while i love the sunshine at least looking forward to the rain to help a little bit. >> we are going to see a chance for showers tomorrow which will help to wash away some of that pollen. in the meantime you might be sniffing and sneezing a little bit more today. the warmth and the windy conditions not really going to help the situation. here's a view from our speedway camera.

university police, chicago police, and state officials all stepped in. trump says that he met with police for 30 minutes before he decided to shut down the event. police told cnn he did not consult with them before canceling. >> i felt that it was safer. i don't want to see anybody get hour. i think it was the right thing to do under the circumstances. >> after trump canceled that rally, the situation grew even worse. an officer injured. we are told two police officers were injured. that one there has blood on his face. police say one officer was hit in the head with a bottle and required several stitches. both officers have nonlife threatening injuries this morning. ron emmanuel released a statement. for all of us that cherish the ideals for which our country was founded, the hateful rhetoric demeans our democratic values and diminishes our democratic process. we also learned over night a
