she learned why it could be considered cyber bullying. >> according to this warrant, the teenage girl said she is deeply shocked that this picture is going around thisaway. and now police are trying to figure out how it got into the hands of teachers. >> really appalled by it. >> it's sad. >> reporter: residents and parents we spoke with were saddened to hear of this incident happening again in school. according to the search warrant to the magistrates office, a nude photo of a 17-year-old female student at the community school of davidson got into the hands of two teachers. the teen told police she took the picture and sent it to her boyfriend. the photo came through e-mail from an unknown sender and davidson police are trying to track who sent it.

to this crash between a cats bus and another vehicle. it happened around 9:00 last night on west moorehead street and will cub son boulevard. three people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. administrators got a tip on wednesday that a middle schooler had the resolver style bb gun in his backpack. he also had cartridges to fire it. he is charged with carrying a weapon on school property. time is 7:05. channel 9 learned more about the 27,000 online surgeries filled out about student assign preponderate. they use those surgeries to tell them priorities. here's a break down of those responses. the lowest amount of surveys came from district two in southwest charlotte. it turned in nearly 4,000. the highest amount of answer

the other inmate this morning. officials say the two were shackled in a prison van earlier this week before somehow escaping. they say convicted murder joseph cruz was taken into custody last night. he has been serving a life sentence for first degree murder. the other inmate lionel claw is still on the run this morning. he was convicted of armed robbery among other crimes. they were able to slip away while they were traveling in a transport van on wednesday night. they didn't realize the two were gone until 1:00 a.m. on thursday. charlotte city leaders will learn if they are one step closer to winning $1 million for transportation services. each finalist will receive $100,000 to hone their proposals for the final selection process that happens in june. charlotte is up against 76 other cities.

confederate flag. top health officials are improve emergency funding in virus. they need $1.8 billion but some lawmakers are telling them to for ebola. the zika virus is believed to be linked to serious medical conditions in babies and adults in the south american and caribbean areas. this comes as a new case of zika is confirmed in north carolina. that makes for a total of six reported or confirmed cases in the state. health officials say that in all of the cases, the patients contracted the virus while traveling. they have already tried to limit the mosquito population to lower the risk of the virus. that includes battery powered nets that pull in up 200 mosquitoes every night so they can be tested.

this morning we start in the breaking news center. thank you for joining us i'm brittney johnson. over night we have been following the chaos that erupted in chicago after presidential candidate donald trump canceled a rally there. this was the scene last night as both supporters and protestors clashed in the streets. all of this began several hours earlier when people filled the university of illinois arena.

rally due to safety concerns. trump never spoke to them prior to calling off the event. officers say several fights broke out between the two groups leading to five people being arrested. trump says he does not have any regrets. he says quote there were very, very bad protestors. these were bad dudes. chicago's interim police superintendent says two of his officers were injured during that chaos last night. that includes one of them being hit in the head with a bottle. more than 300 officers were on hand to control those crowds. over night several presidential candidates reacted to the chaos in chicago. senator ted cruz says trump's campaign is responsible for creating an environment that urges supporters to engage in violence. senator marco rubio said trump's rhetoric is insighting violence at his events and democrat hillary clinton said violence has no place in our politics. this weekend we can expect to

>> reporter: this started out with $500 to find a missing dog. but when that dog was found dead on this road shot in the back and sheriffs offices don't have enough information to launch an investigation and then they decided to turn that money to find a dog into finding a suspect. amanda collins is angry over the slaying of her dog lily. >> it just takes a really sick twisted person to shoot an innocent dog in cold blood. >> reporter: wednesday morning they let her go out of their home. she may have been drawn to something in the woods. she put the word out online. the next morning someone found her along barbara road in gull hill. almost nine miles from home. collins says it appears she was shot in the back.

they were down to a handful. the event moved to sycamore brewing in south end after plans to build an office complex came in the old lot. organizers say moving to the new spot has some challenges including parking and bathroom issues. one compromise for vendors has been downsizing to fewer food trucks. >> ultimately i think what we settled on was not what everybody wanted but a more intimate event. >> it's about people congregating and that thing. today it's not been that big of a problem. >> those kids look like they're having a great time. one organizer says they have been building the schedule month by month to see what works and what needs to be changed. the charlotte hornets keep pulling out wins this season.
