we removed a symbol that was being used to divide us and we found a strength that united us. there's an important lesson in this. in many parts of society today, whether in popular culture, academia, the media orpolitics, there's a tendency to falsely equate noise with results. some people think that you have to be the loudest voice in the ro to make a difference. that's just not true. often the best thing we can do is turn down the volume. when the sound is quieter, you can actually hear what someone else is saying and that can make a world of difference. of course, that doesn't mean we won't have strong disagreements. we will. and as we usher in this new era, republicans will stand up for our beliefs.

taxes would be lower for working families and we'd put the brakes on run away spending and debt. we would encourage american innovation and success instead of dem monizing them. the economy would soar and good jobs would be available across the country. we would reform education so it worked best for students, parents, and teachers, not washington bureau grats and union bosses. we would end the disastrous health care system and replace it with reforms that lowered costs and actually let you keep your doctor. we would respect differences in modern families but we would also ip cyst on respect for religious liberty as a corner stone of our democracy. we would recognize the importance of the separation of powers and honor the constitution in its entirety and, yes, that includes the second and tenth amendments. we would make international

in israel and protested in iran, not the other way around. and rather than just thanking our brave men and women in uniform, we would actually strengthen our military. so both our friends and our enemie would know that america seeks peace, but when we fight wars, we win them. we have big decisions to make. our country is being tested, but we've been tested in the past, and our people have always risen to the challenge. we have all the guidance we need to be safe and successful. our forefathers paved the way for us. let's take their values and their strengths and rededicate ourselves doing whatever it takes to keep america the greatest country in the history of man and woman. thank you. good night.

that sets off a fight in which the owner is over powered as the crook lands blow after blow to his face. the accomplice even joins in on the ruthless beating of the owner on the floor of the business. the two men run out leaving the owner identified by his employees as rony dazed and bloody.>> the the the the the the -- he's very family oriented and pass he always takes care of every employee that he has. it's not cool. knowing that he can be beat for no reason. >>reporter: the owner was treated by paramedics. >> those people don't want to work. they just want easy ch. and they they want money. easy cash. >>reporter: owner has children and the employees say he works hard to make an honest living. his employee hope whoever delivered the blow is

>> liz is live outside apollo middle school with what happened next. >> tonight two male students from apollo middle scho are both in custody at the hollywood police department. investigators tell me both of those boys are being charged with possession of a firearm on school property. police cruisers and officers stood guard outside apollo middle school where not a single student could be spottedsingle student could be spotted. crowds of parents filled the street outside the school. >> a little nerve wracking. >> this chaos. no one is telling you anything. >>reporter: they arrived for pick up and instead came across a crime scene van. >> my daughter she does have a cell phone with her but i can not get cop tact with her. >>reporter: you tried. >> yes i don't know what happened. >>reporter: on the back side of the campus investigators walked the grounds toward their suspected target. >> the school resource officer on campus discovered a weapon on campus. it was found around some portable on campus.

pulled what they say was a handgun from underneath the temporary classroom. crime scene detectives exaned it close i before taking it as evidence. >> one of the students showed the firearm to the other student and then after showing it to them they tried to hide it underneath the portable. >>reporter: hollywood police say both of those students touched the gvn until investigators say another student spotted them. that's when police say the boys spooked and ditched it. this investigati played out as middle school students were locked inside unaware. >> they told us not to go out of the room. >>reporter: was it scary at all. >> no. >>reporter: why not. >> because it happened sometimes and we are used to it. >>reporter: do you think he's putting other people in danger. >> for sure. >>reporter: officers took two students in for questioning before safely releasing everyone else on time. tonight hollywood police have still not said whether or not that gun was loaded when they found it here on the middle school campus. live in hollywood tonight, 7

well one last time. you saw it right here on 7. president obama giving his final stati of the union address. >> he listed what he considers his accomplishments and he pushed lawmakers in congress to work with him on several other issues before he leaves office. robin simmons is in the plex with a look at. that robin. >>reporter: the president also mentioned what he calls a major regret. that the political climate hasn't improved during his time in office. but the bulk of his speech touting his administration's achievements. the president of the united states. [applause]. >>reporter: and president obama makes his way in the house chamber to deliver his seventh and final state of the union address. he faced plenty of controversies during his term. his use of the executive action most recently with ground control and continued fight over the affordable care act and same six marriage but he

[applause] we are in the middle of the longest streak of private sector job creation in history. 60 years ago when the russians beat us into space, we didn't deny sputnik was up there. the we didn't argue about the science or shrink our research and development budget. we built a space program almost overnight and 12 years later we were walking on the moon. with or without congressional action.

everyone getting a little bit of rain. right now temperatures are in the 60's across south florida with key west warm spot. pressure is steady and the wind out of the north north west at 6 miles per hour. it is dry right now and it should remain dry at least until tomorrow night. but we'll see some more moisture hanging across south florida. 45 in pensacola. 38 in tallahassee. all these counties highlighted in blue are under a freeze warning. temperaturehere are expected to dip right around 32 degrees. 51 in orlando. tampa. 53 fort myers 58. same in west palm beach. we are looking at temperatures in the low 60's over broward and miami-dade and again 67 degrees in key west. this is the forecast for tomorrow. starting with the marine. threat of rip current. biscayne bay with a moderate chop. for you throughout the florida keys small craft advisory due to the wind and sea.

another job and wave offensive line man fox. new head coach adam gase hired bengals defensive backs coach joseph to be his new defensive coordinator. joseph played in the league for the last 11 years. he has been in the nfl as defensive backs coach with the 49ers, texans and most recently the bengals. st. louis rams move back to los angeles next season. dolphins play there next year.
