watch this. ralph, tell us where you are and where these guys are headed. >> atlantic boulevard coming up to the turnpike westbound now. we have a group as you said between 175 and # hundred riders this who have started now the dade county. meatd up with a big group in miami gardens and went back south to the area in the park and returned back to the area of 37th avenue near opa locka airport where they grew in size tobout 100, swell to about a hundred and then they met a big group on university near north perry airport near pines boulevard and swell to about 200. at's where we are right now. one factoid that we, throw ut out at you right now is that this is as far noror as we have seen this activity go in the last two years fl last year we ended up somewhere around sunrise boulevard on i-95 where they turned around, the riders turned around and went southbound. the ieses here of course are the dangerously high speed.

the median now and then jumping dowp. we hey lot of these riders ride into on coming traffic. through intersections where there are controlled devices, stop lice and go against traffic several occasion. we've seen several rite riders stop and get to the intersections to slow down or column to a complete stop as those straight traid trailers, the slower riders towards the back of this quarter mile long procession catch up. some on four wheel vehicles and some on two wheels and sometimes when you they put it up on one wheel. especially at speeds that they are imosmght so again, with we just crossed the turnpike here and we aring on the west side. looks like they are going to make a left hand turn here on rock island. and now they are make a l-u-i-e- so right now we have

county right now. so that means if they continue driving like they have been, which is rather crazy. they will be trying bust through intersections and drive through areas with no ligs on at all and obviously making the situation even more dangerous for everybody. a lot of times we're stheemg drive on the sidewalk. i've seen kids getting close to getting hit. earlier we saw i guess a vehicle drove through an intersection and the atv didn't like it and went and hit the vehicle. so once again, this is not smart do at all. right now we're right me. pgh to the west end of fort lauderdale executive airport here. coming up slowly but surely cypress creek. another major intersection. let show you here every one stacked up here a. lease they are smart and waiting for the traffic light. we've seen so many close calls where people have gotten seriously injured and we've also seen light of people driving these atv's and dirt bikes on

7 news at 5:30 sin continuing for the developing story for the past two hours now. live pictures from 7's ralph rayburn. a group of atv rierdz across south florida today. started off with a message of wheels up, guns down on mlk and now wreckless driving and scary situations by drivers or riders i should say. let's go to ralph rayburn and find out where they are at. >> if the drivers wanted to get attention, their mythology i i effective now. and they are on 31 avenue passed oakland park boulevard. it appears they are make their way back towards dade county. the group is deminished someone from the 200, number of 200 roughly riders that we saw earlier when 24e why up a littl bill bit farther north. some of them when make a u-turn continued to go back eastbound

those mied be the group from dade county that's heading back the expedient way. these folks here as we said earlier are king southbound here on 31 avenue. and now they are for the most part riding on the right side of the roadway. a lot of them still put thrirg vehicles or their motorcycle ems up on one wheel as you see this fella doing right here and obviously not obeying all the traffic laws at this time but as we said earlier. the police's attitude appears to be overall one of just watch and see. we just received report just a short time agatha broward county area police department reported one accident. one person transported level two trauma to area hospital. you now. i can also tell you looking taught window to the west, the sun has sevment still very gray out right now. the temperatures are going down and that's pretty much everything we know about this situation right now. that's our story in sky force

i'm ralph rayburn reporting live. ralph. stay with the live pictures so. this is western broward county. you said they are maker their way back to dade. where exactly are they? eye i think i said 31 avenue. they just passed sunrise. i can bring the camera back out. that's the swap shot. the corner of the swap shot there in sunrise and they rp cog now pull nothing another gas station. we've seen this move multiple times and now it likes they will be westbound on sunrise boulevard on the south side of the swap shot there. let's see here. yeah yeah, we still have about 150 riders or so and on the right side of the roadway here westbound on the present time as they come through the tirn section here you can see the vehicles that would normally have the right of way there that come tie complete stop or to at least allow the vehicular traffic to come through the roadway and through the parking lot of the exxon gas station here and making their waste west

we heard from ralph rayburn a few minutes ago the group has diminished and the sun has snow. lights on these atv's. ralph, these are your life pictures. what is going on? >> will, we're in a community here. jut grus a little bit of suburbia here to the west of i-95 on the east side and turnpike on the west side here coming up, coming up to broward boulevard. looks like the leader of this group may have got enlost in the neighborhood here because they there thr are three bikes that here. one on the atv and the two in the black shirts, long sleeve shirts that have been directing things and thre discussing what the next moves are. he is on the telephone there getting information and it looks like they will be making a right hand turn which would take thes them westbound towards i-95 or towards 441,679 i believe 441 will be it.

looking to get back on tie major though roar fair that wl take them back towards dade county. you can see they get spread out quite a bit here. earlier we were commenting about a a quarter mile or so from the front of group to the back of the pack there. now it looks to be even longer than what and you asked a question earlier about, we were asked a question about support vehicles if there were any and we mentioned one of the trucks with people in the back long with some gas cans in case people ran out of fuel and we spotted that pickup truck there. it is right there. and that when they do pull into to make a pit stop of sorts. they will get out, show the gasoline and fill up. the gas line. they can go a long way way sip of fuel. while. >> that's the sorry from ralph rayburn reporting live. >> now 7 weather with meteorologist brent cameron. >> and if you stepped outside at

so you get an idea since it's so cold here in south florida. you know there's a lot of other cold weather on the map. that's been the case coming out of canada and by waive chilly high pressure centered now over eye iowa and illinois. that high does tend to move and with once it does move far enough to the east, we're looking at the wind to switch. that will not be 'til the midweek know so we are look for the cool air to last a couple more days. and then by thursday, on the back side of that high pressure area and with that wind off the ocean waters, we'll notice temperatures on an upward swing. small craft advisory issued. that begins over night at 1:00 in the morning. technically and same four in the keys. choppy conditions four boaters. temperatures on the chilly side as mentioned. lower 50s. miami-dade, broward, mid 50s. for you over night in the ciez. and then tomorrow a day much like today.
