big changes in downtown norfolk today. the old norfolk circuit court demolition is officially underway-- news channel threes makenzie walter is live at the construction site. around 8 o clock this morning - construction crews started to tear down this old courthouse behind me. they say this demolition period will take 6 to 8 weeks - but when its all over - downtown norfolk will be a much more functional and not to mention - better looking - place. brick by brick - nats -- the old norfolk circuit court begins its transition to a new and improved downtown civic plaza. lori crouch norfolk

they say tried stealing from a home under construction. this is 18-year- old tyrell slaughter. he )s been arrested and charged with burglary and grand larceny. police say they got a call about a burglary yesterday morning just before 10. this was at a home undergoing renovations on chimney creek drive. officials say the construction crew-- saw slaughter inside the home and held him until police arrived. in norfolk-- police are investigating a crash that took out a h-r-t bus stop. the three car crash happened just after eight this morning on east princess anne road and ingleside road. right now-- police haven )t told us if anyone was hurt or what may have caused the crash. in newport news: two men -- shot just minutes apart. today both men are in the hospital-- one recovering, the other fighting for his life. first -- police were called to jefferson avenue near the virginia living museum. that )s where a man told police he was standing outside e en he heard gunshots, and then realized he was shot in the leg. this all happened right around 12-30. he is expected to be

about 10 minutes later -- a second man walked into the hospital. police say he had been shot several times -- in the chest and stomach. we )re told he may not survive. right now -- there )s no word on who dropped him off at the hospital, when he was shot or where it happened. we re working to learn more about both shootings. if you know anything -- take action and call the crime line. on the military watch-- a ceremony was held this morning in virginia beach to remember the national guardsmen and soldiers killed in a plane crash 15 years ago. the virginia air national guard s virginia beach based 203-rd red horse squadron held the ceremony at camp pendleton at nine-30 this morning. the virginia guard engineers and three florida aviators had just completed a two-week military construction project in florida when their planed crashed in a cotton filed in georgia back in 2001. the crash was the worst
