a viewer posted this snow picture on facebook --this was taken in williamsburg right around midnight good morning i )m blaine stewart. and i m jessica larche. the first warning storm team is tracking, wind, rain andsnow in some areas. let s get right to meteorologist myles henderson in the first warning storm center. some snow accumulations can be expected during this event but will likely be limited because of the rain. so areas near sussex, surry, williamsburg- james city co., gloucester. mathews, middlesex and the northern etern shore could see about 1-2"of snow. however, some of our forecast models are hinting at higher amounts of snow over portions of the middle peninsula and the northern neck, possibly up to 3". even higher snow totals are expected near petersburg and richmond. again, for most of the viewing area, this will be a rain

and run 1:20- "they didnt come back they didnt make sure i was ok. how do you run someone over and not see if they are ok?" if you can help find out who is responsible for this hit and run - hampton police ask that you take action and call the crime line. a suffolk family - in mourning. for the first time - they re talking to us about their father - found murdered in a cemetery this week. on tuesday -- suffolk police found 42-year- old wayne watford at the pleasant hill cemetary around 1-30 in the the medical examiner says he died from several gunshot wounds to his back. watford s son tells newschannel 3 -- his father did serve jail time on and off but never got into the kind of trouble that would lead to this. he says he knew something was wrong when he never got a phone call from his dad on his birthday a few days ago. a city spokesperson would not say if suffolk police believe someone murdered watford at the cemetery -- or if someone dumped his body there. anyone with information is asked to take action and call the crime line a 1-888-lock-u-up.

for a man wanted for breaking into a home and stealing electronics. they are look for 18-year-old domenico green. police say last month he and two other men broke into a home on drummonds way and stole a television and jewelry. he is wanted on charges of burglary, conspiracy to commit a felony, and grand larceny. police ask anyone who knows where green is to call the crime line. later today: the u-s-n-s laramie will return to naval station norfolk -- following a three and a half month deployment. the crew is made up of mostly civil service mariners --along with a few military members. this is video from a previous homecoming. the ship provided combat support to several countries in europe and africa-- and while deployed -- delivered fuel, cargo and mail to navy and nato ships. the fleet oiler is expected back tonight at eight. coming up a new bill could fine you for smoking while there are children in the car. last nights debate got down and

new details: virginia could soon fine drivers who smoke with kids in the car. the state senate passed a bill yesterday imposing a 100 dollar fine on drivers who smoke in a vehicle with a child younger than eight. the house already passed the bill. supporters say second-hand smoke poses health risks to kids. police would not be able to pull drivers over for lighting up, it would be a secondary offense. six other states have similar bans. governor mcauliffe has not said yet if he will sign the bill into law.

blackmailers are now targeting the wives of ashley madison cheating customers. it )s been six months since hackers got into the extra-marital dating site. the hackers stole users personal data - then published the information. they also demanded ransom. the wives of men who refused to pay are now receiving letters - detailing their spouse )s activities on the site. a new uber scheme has raised a lot of eyebrows. apparently, drivers are using vomit to get more money out of passengers. officials say it has happened in a number of cities. one woman says she took a two mile trip ---her bill showed a charge for nineteen dollars--plus a 200 cleaning fee.

rain will continue to blanket the area this morning as an area of low pressure moves off of the carolina coast. some snow will mix in for the northern eastern shore, inland peninsulas and inland southside. any additional snowfall will be minimal. precipitation will taper off from west to east by midday. skies will start to clear late this afternoon with highs only in the mid 40s. winds will really crank up today. expect northerly winds at 20 to 30 mph with gusts to near 40 mph. we will start a warming trend this weekend. highs warming into the upper 40s saturday and low 50s sunday. expect a mix of sun and clouds this weekend with a chance for rain showers sunday morning. we will warm back into the 60s next week and near 70 by midweek. today: am rain, snow mixing in, windy. highs in the mid 40s. winds: ne/n 20-30 g40 tonight: partly cloudy. lows in the mid 30s. winds: n 5-15 tomorrow: partly cloudy. highs in the upper 40s.
