new at noon-- chesapeake police are investigating after an accident sent six people to the hospital. this is a picture sent to us by a newschannel three viewer. the accident happened at 9-30 this morning on battlefield boulevard and hambury road. police haven )t told us how the accident happened-- only that an s-u-v and a head start mini bus were involved. the driver of the s- u-v was hurt along with three adults and two kids inside the bus/ everyone was taken to the hospital-- and are expected to be okay. a violent weekend across hampton roads someone shot -- in nearly every city. eight victims total -- one of the dead. newschannel three s jessica room with a closer look. between friday and sunday -- one person was killed -- and seven separate shootings. and whoever pulled those triggers -- are still out there. saturday night -- norfolk

police say someone shot robert knight in oceanview. the 38-year-old -- found bleeding in the driver )s seat of a mini-van saturday on kingston avenue. he died at the hospital. curtis rodarmel/neighb or i walked up and it was the guy leaning over in the seat, just really blood. it scared the crap out of me. tons: 517079 also in norfolk -- on sunday night -- a 16-year-old -- found shot in the middle of pllard and barre streets. he )s in the hospital at this hour. in newport news-- a 17-year-old boy and 18-year-old woman -- shot during a party early saturday morning. they, too, were taken to the hospital. more gun violence -- sunday afternoonin hampton. police say someone shot a man along nickerson blvd. he )s in the hospital with serious injuries. now to virginia beach -- where a man was seriously hurt ina shooting at the oceanfront on 17th and atlantic. police did make an arrest in that case. also on sunday -- in portsmouth -- a man shot on deep creek boulevard and columbus avenue. one man was taken to the hospital. neighbors say the shootings -- have left them shaken. 11;09 scared for your lives and the children that live next door

taking action for your health-- we have the latest on the zika virus crisis-- and a new study that returns. british researchers have developed a blood test which returned to a recovering patient. they hope the breakthrough will allow them to move quickly to tackle the disease before it progresses too far, potentially saving thousands of lives. the cdc is joining forces with health officials in puerto rico on the zika outbreak. the cdc director is heading there this week to get a firsthand look at how the government is responding to the situation. more than 100 and evidence of a link between the virus and birth defects is still growing.

first at four. new details-- we now know the cause of a duplex fire that forced three people norfolk. officials say the fire was due an overload of electrical it happened around 10 on chesapeake boulevard in the norview heights neighborhood. when firefighters got there-- they found smoke and flames coming from the living room on the second floor. fire and put the flames out quickly. but due to the fire and smoke damage-- the apartment is not living at this time. no one was hurt-- but officials say three people are displaced by the fire. after 18 years on the grid-iron -- two-time super bowl champion peyton manning is retiring from the n-f-l. the team confirmed it on twitter saying manning informed them of his decision saturday. the 39- year-old says goodbye at the top of his game,

just a month after winning the super bowl. manning is the only quarterback to win super bowls with two different teams. a scheduled news conference is set to happen in less than an hour. newschannel three will be streaming it live online at w-t-k-r dot-com. funeral arrangements are underway for former first lady nancy reagan. mrs. reagan died yesterday at her home in los angeles. she was 94 years old. this is video taken in newport news in 2001 -- as she christened the u-s-s ronald reagan. during her eight years in the white house, nancy reagan was known as the "just say no" spokeswoman of anti-drug campaigns. she will be buried next to her husband at the ronald reagan presidential library in california. a pastor was shot in the parking lot of his church-- a day after attending a rally for presidential candidate ted cruz. the shooting happened right after sunday services in the town of cor dah-leen ) coeur d alene-- idaho.a day earlier-- the pastor delivered the invocation at

for the first time-- users of mac-intosh computers were hacked with "ransomware" over the weekend. in the new attack-- the hackers used a new version of apple "transmission" software to infect computers. users were told the only way to retrieve their data is to pay a fee i difficult-to- trace digital currency. apple says it has since cut off the hackers access to mac s. the college attended by one of the boston marathon bombers will not take part in a planned movie about the attack. filmmakers wanted to use the university of massachusetts campus for a scene in the

upcoming movie. dzhokhar tsarnaev was a sophomore at the school when he and his older brother carried out the april 20- 13 bombing which killed three people and injured hundreds. the school said it turned down the request because it would be quote " too disruptive to the campus community." one dog apparently has learned a new trick -- how to drive a semi- truck. minnesota police say a dog was at the wheel of a big rig that smashed into a tree (and a parked car. investigators say the labrador somehow put the idling truck into gear -- sending it across the street-- and toward a nearby gas station. no e was hurt. authorities say the driver left the truck running while he was inside the store.
