forever. it lived up to all that hype and even more. it was unreal. >> you hope it goes to a game seven and extra innings. maybe not the rain delay. >> even the rain delay was pa nice little change of pace. >> i couldn't believe it. >> give the grounds crew a chance to be in the spotlight for a minute. >> you are a sports guy though. you are very athletic. >> well, thank you. >> am i wrong? >> i'd like to think of myself that way. >> who were you rooting for? was your heart with one team or not? >> i'm from cleveland's like the hated rival. then the cubs are actually our rival within our division so to me it was like the lesser of two evils. >> ooh. >> but i think just the long suffering cubs fans. to see cubs fans finally have a chance to relish that moment. although i did hear somebody say they've lost their identity now. they're no longer the loveable losers. so what's the fan base going to do? >> the lovable winners. >> we saw a video of them arriving early this morning.

you got to hire him in cincinnati. it's been a while for the reds fans. time to come down south. >> al roker is standing by, he's in chicago. how did it feel to be there, buddy? >> we are at harry caray's. and the crowd has been here and we've been having a great time. and i got to tell you, it's the greatest world series game seven i've ever seen. it had a little bit of which i think is kind of fitting. i like the idea that weather had something to do with this. which was pretty cool. and the other thing, by the ninth inning we had to go downstairs and get into the tunnel to get ready to go out on the field. so i got to see something that -- at first i wasn't sure what i was witnessing. but we were watching these guys were these carts that had boxes on them. turns out they were boxes of

world series . but theyt g kepng from locker room to locker room as the -- a the lead changed. back, forth, back, forth. it was so close. it was incredible. then of course, chicago finally pulls it o and i got to tell you, even though the game was played in cleveland, i think half the people in the stands were from chicago. >> hey! >> you see that final out and the crowd could g and afterwards, even after the game was over, and the --k at bill murray. he's just -- he was there. he has been such a long-time cubs fan. dancing in the stands, having a great time. and then of course theo pstein, bill and theo were in the clubhouse afterwards celebrating with champagne. it was spectacular.

i talked with ben zobrist. i mean this was his first year as a chicago cub. and, boy, what a first year to have. it was -- in fact, i ran into his wife, julianna. all of a sudden she -- during the rain delay, guys, they had all come out away from the field. he goes out, she runs back in. she runs in to me. she says i got to get back out there. i've got to see him. he is at bat. he hits that it was perhaps -- >> yeah! woo! >> like i said, make no bones about it, i'm a cleveland indians fan. i lived in cleveland for five years. everybody that took part in that game had something to be proud of. whatever team won, nobody was going to complain about it. but, look. if you're going to lose to a team, you want to lose to the chicago cubs. a team with destiny.
