10:01 am
it was fun to watch. >> we hope to do that again maybe with some other holidays. >> i was thinking when we have a co-host as a chef, i would imagine we'd have a big spread of food brought out to us. >> we've got some food. >> sorry. you always get disappointed. >> no. >> tamron -- >> i beat bobby flay. >> yes, you did. handily. >> what about the show? >> you have a slice of cake here but you didn'te >> this was from the last hour. this is like the turducken of pastry. it's got -- >> it's pumpkin puree chocolate chip cake sandwiched around a pecan pie. >> it's a new trend. what's it called? >> pike. >> pie-cake thing. >> sugar rush. >> if you could have cake in a pie what kind of cake would you merge with what kind of pie? >> cake and pie.
10:02 am
cake would be like a banana cream pie. >> i didn't see that coming. >> that's because it is healthy. it is fruit. >> of course. i'd go with a caramel cake with an apple pie. >> you know, that's really good. i like that. >> key lime pie would be my pie. and then my cake would just be vanilla cake. is that too >> if you'd go on our facebook page and give us your combo. your cake-pie combo. so #pike. okay? #pike. >> what about key lime pie with like a cream cheese chocolate cake. >> i'm not into chocolate and key lime. >> our facebook page blew up on
10:03 am
>> like a furby -- >> with these toys that take off and nobody can get them. >> we showed you last friday dylan and harry connick hatched a hatchimal. they nursed this little blue egg until the creature came out. it just set social media on fire. 4 mon we've heard from families, grandmoms saying where do i get this for my grandchild? they're selling out everywhere. >> i have one and unfortunately i have a 7-year-old and a 10-year-old who now have to have a "hunger games" contest to see -- >> which causes it to hatch? just time? >> you who hold it. you put it down, timer stops. you have to have a kid with a lot of patience who can hold it
10:04 am
we reached out to the company behind the hatchimal and they have have assured us they have increased production. shipments of the new hatchimals will be arriving in stores throughout the holiday season and early 2017. so you might have to get an iou from santa for the child. >> hatchimal. >> the hatchimal. >> your moment is thanksgiving, we're told. >> this is my season. i >> your super bowl? >> it is my super bowl. thanksgiving is my favorite day of the year. i wake up hungry on thanksgiving. i get up around 3:00 in the morning. i roast two 30-pound turkeys. >> 30 pounds? i don't know they came that big. >> yes. i get two 30-pound turkeys because you know people want leftovers. people come to my house with tupperware. >> you don't blind it? >> no. we're giving thanks. i get to show my life for food. it is the greatest thing ever.
10:05 am
about tumor wear. i just recently had some people over for dinner and i gave them my tupperware. >> it's not coming back. >> that's what made me think. thanksgiving, bring your own tupperware and you can take home a little bobby flay. >> we save all the take-out containers we get. when people come over, we have leftovers, we give them the left thing outside the turkey, the best side that you can make is it. >> i am making a southwestern thanksgiving this year. so i'm going to say the first thing i thought of was the cornbread and chorizo stuffing. i make stuffing on the side so it is nice and crusty. >> i like in the bird stuffing. >> it's important if you're going to host thanksgiving -- listen. >> i'm listening. >> if you're going to host thanksgiving you need to be organized. i'm going to cook all the

10:07 am
from new jersey. it is my first time making a turkey. what's the best approach so i don't mess it up? >> really simple. do what i do. don't brian. put the turkey in a roasting pan, season with salt and pepper, slather a bunch of melted butter in there and kick it into the oven. i don't cover it. . i cover it later. i start it at about 400 degrees. it gets nice and brown after 45 minutes to an hour. depends on how big it is. then i cover it with some tinfoil to protect it and just keep roasting it. i sw >> this from hanna from birmingham, alabama. what's the difference between dressing and stuffing? >> well, you like dressing. >> i don't like stuffing. >> obviously stuffing is stuffing in the bird and dressing is cooking it on the side. the reason why i like to cook it on the side for two reasons. first, you get a nice crust on the outside so you get that good contrast in texture. also it helps cook the bird evenly if you don't stuff it.
10:08 am
i make stuffing, and i make a dressing on the side. then the stuffing inside. then i mix them. >> wow. >> i want to let you know this on the air. al has a lot of, let's say, veet cred or kitchen cred in the chef industry because he's been so supportive for a long time and we know he can cook. >> he can cook. how many things do you cook? on your menu? >> i don't do that many. turkey, i probably do a ham. then maybe four or five. >> you throw the ham in there. >> oh, yeah. >> he goes bi i want to add brussel sprouts to our thanksgiving table. >> i'm actually doing one tomorrow. i'm doing a brussels sprouts recipe tomorrow. you can watch it. it has pomegranates, some kind of nut and a little pomegranate molasses so go get that now. >> you'll show us tomorrow. >> blanch, then roast, then season. that's it. >> i just roast with a little
10:09 am
about 30 cloves of garlic. >> sufficient's got to go on "beat bobby flay." >> garlic, bacon, brussels sprouts? that's a good recipe, al. up nex -- you know how long it takes to get my hair this messy? up next, the hot fashion trend. and it's not this. burning up the red carpet at last night's ama. yes, underwear as outer wear. it's the style. and i'm thinking about doing it for the holidays. up next, we'll see ?? ? i never over think it do what i want ? ? and i do it my way (okay) ? ? we live the life we want to live ? ? that's right let's celebrate ? ? yeah we're all about a good time ? ? yeah we're all about a good life ? ? you won't believe until you see this ? ? is gonna be a fun ride ?
10:10 am

10:16 am
her. she actually -- all she talked about on her phone was all these dishes that she wanted to eat which i think is a great message for young women and food to have that relationship. >> absolutely. >> we share the same favorite hamburger in new york city with i is j.g. melon's. >> i've not been there. put that on our list, everybody. >> yesterday obviously nfl football. we always see some great tackles. but c sound guy on fox television couldn't get out of the way. . vikings coming out on the field sunday. bernie was fine enough to continue working the whole game. >> that's when life comes at you fast. >> boom! he was okay, broke his glasses. got a little bloody nose. he continued to work the game. glasses broken. reminds me, there is is a great movie back in the early '60s,

a better moment of proof. victoza lowers my a1c and blood sugar better than the leading branded pill, which didn't get me to my goal. victoza? works with your body to lower blood sugar in three ways: in the stomach, the liver, and the pancreas. and while it isn't for weight loss, victoza? may help you lose some weight. non-insulin victoza? comes in a pen and is taken once a day. as the first medication to treat diabetes and is not for people with type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis. do not take victoza? if you have a personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer, multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome type 2, or if you are allergic to victoza? or any of its ingredients. stop taking victoza? and call your doctor right away if you get a lump or swelling in your neck or if you develop any allergic symptoms including itching, rash, or difficulty breathing.
10:22 am
if you have severe pain in your stomach area. tell your doctor your medical history. taking victoza? with a sulfonylurea or insulin may cause low blood sugar. the most common side effects are headache, nausea, diarrhea and vomiting. side effects can lead to dehydration, which may cause kidney problems. now's the time for a better moment of proof. ask your doctor about victoza?. we are back with ben mckenzie who burst on to the hollywood scene as the troubled young teen on "the o.c." >> now ben's playing detective jim gordon on the hit series "gotham." >> gordon is forced to worry about the safety of the city before it is too late. >> captain of police was just

10:24 am
it's exhausting! you know, that's the kind of -- that's the show we're making. it is a lot of fun. we keep it light on the set to sort of relieve the pressure of everything. the season finale is coming up a week from tonight. that will have all the big deaths and explosions and all kinds of things. >> but you probably will pose more questions. >> we we might do that. >> i love it. sometimes it's fun obviously playing a villain, but this guy has both sides. >> yeah, he does. what he is able to sort of -- he's sort of toeing the line between light and dark. he is the batman before there is a batman. he's the guy trying to keep the wolves at bay and keeping the
