9:30 am
makes you look younger, but can smooth out fine lines and take care of age spots too. >> this is a form of intense pulse light which is a light that we use that is attracted to pigment so the browns and reds are easily attracted and they basically come up to the skin and float off after a few days. so it's really, you feel kind of little hot snap as it is being done and afterwards you have wonderful results. >> yeah you do and you have a numbing cream too that helps the other thing is sclero therapy. >> we treat spider veins and varicose vein. we usually offer a special on that too. i can't quite give away all of the days we're doing because it's a different special every day, but we usually cover these types of things. >> that's right you got to stay tuned for the one day special. another fun thing is cool sculpting. every time you are here and you talk about this everybody sees some change and usually it is
9:31 am
in one treatment you will lose between 20 and 24% of fat in an area that is treated so often people want to have a second treatment in the same area because to leave a even more dramatic result, but it works very very well. you can sculpt those areas of the body you cannot work out enough to get rid of the pockets of fat. >> it really targets you treat all different areas. if you can trim fat there they can treat it, but these are areas hard to target with diet and exercise or both. >>or you sometimes have specials on. >> micropen is microneedling of the face. it's become very popular across the country and it really is a series of little needles in a battery run little pen so it is vibrating needles across your face. almostless feels like a little pin pred prick in the skin. we are allowing products to go through the skin and it

welcome back to the morni using ro ira's for retirement can lower tax bills keep a bigger part of social security untaxed. these accounts have been around almost two decades, but our next guest says they are way underutilized. matthew holbrook is a representative with country financial here to explain why roth ira's must be a part of your retirement plan. great to see you. great to see you. that was a lot. >> that was a lot, but it's really important. thesre notut they might be new to some people.
9:41 am
know you know what that should be part of my plan.?@ but i don't knowt is and i don't kw how to take advantage of it. >> the easiest way i can explain it to think about for a triona ira a lot of people have those. that's money that has never been taxed. the roth ira you c go into ur wallet pull it out and put money into a roth ira. it is money that h been taxed and it grows tax free. it is fine,ou pay zero tax on there too and you have access to those contributions at any time >> you don't have to be retirement age? >> correct. your contributions you can touch. so like a traditional ira or 401(k) you can'tit w you rot can touch youributtrns not the growth. it acts as an emergency fund if mething should happen a need to access that. >> if are you younger than 5 9 1/2, and you access those funds then do you pay taxes on it? >> nope you do not. >> the only time you pay taxes this is important on a money you
9:42 am
tax you pay on that income or on >> it's steow t -zero tax. >> it is like you put it in no tax when you take it out that is wonderful. can everyone get a roth ira is everyone eligible? >> not everybody is. there are loopholes. the rule of thumb it is about 13 # thousand if you make that for a single filer or $196,000 if you are married if you make over $196,000 combined you cannot do it, but there is a back doo about that. if you don't have any other ira's outside of your retirement plan you can do a respect ira. you -- roth ira. you can do a traditional i ra then turn it into a roth. you can take $11,000 one day convert it into a roth ira. >> that is wonderful. at age 70 and a half, you were required by the government to take money out of your account. >> they want their taxes.
9:43 am
as it relates to a roth ira? >> for that with the traditional ira or a 401(k), the government is going to say age 70 and a half you have to pull that out. if you have about a million bucks, the government will say you have to take $40,000 because we want to get our taxes out of that. with a roth ira it is zero tax they don't make you take it out at 70 and a half. that's your money you already paid taxes they can't touch it. the taxes could go to 80% it doesn' no required minimum distribution at any age. >> correct. the nice thing when you take out money from a 401(k) or ira combined with social security benefits your social security benefits can be taxed. say you take $100,000 out of roth i ra and do social security you owe zero tax on your social security income. >> say you have a college student and let's say this college graduate was to max out his or her roth ira every year
9:44 am
age 23, and put in $5,500 a year, what would they have when they turn 65. >> so for that if you take a college student and then when they get to retirement age if they are the only thing they are doing is that roth ira assuming they don't ing increase contributions that's about $1.7 million. that's a lot of money. zero tax. if you have a 401(k) and ira with 1.7, you have that in only have 1.2 million because of the taxes you have to pay. >> that's amazing. >> now a lot of people are not college graduates they are not 23 they are quite a bit older than that. still a good idea to have a roth? >> very good idea. so a lot of companies what they are doing now is offering like a roth 401(k), or regular 401(k). so you can do both. a lot of people don't really know what they are doing. when they come to my office i show them let's do a mix here and a mix here a they say i
9:45 am
years ago. >> are you able to help council somebodyow much and fige out the amount. >> it depends on what you are making what your goals are what you want with retirement. your tax strategy. there is a lot that goes in there. the roth side of things it's a no brainer everybody should have it. i think 12% of people have them in the united states. so, it's very underutilized. >> it sounds like it. >> do you find people are more lakely t you? >> yeah they feel me out first. i know a lot of people including my wife, hi nikki, she says she loves that you say that because you can just send out that email and it takes a little bit of the fear out of it for that first conversation. >> i think so too. a lot of people have questions i think they feel silly about what the questions that they do have. it's wonderful that people c communice with you that way gann stted. because a lot of people

9:49 am
let's talk about hupy and abraham what you do and how it happens people get in touch with you. >> we're the midwest's biggest personal injury law firm. we have represented over 70,000 people in the last 25 close to 25 years i have been with mike. and we have received over a billion dollars for injured people. we have offices all through wisconsin, iowa and illinois. and we're here to help injured people. that's how they can get in touch with us. >> that is wonderful. so, a lot of people who are in a position then to contact you have been hurt, been i somehow, and you help them. >> yeah unfortunately that's the case they come to us when somebody bad happens and we try to pick up the pieces. we take that very very seriously. with these offices all throughout the midwest. and we understand that our firm is successful becaused on the service and results we give our clients. and then that allows us to give back to the community and do all of these wonderful things we do. >> i'm glad you brought that up. there is a lot we want to talk about. including the community involvement. the holiday baskets that's one example of something you are doing to help other people.
9:50 am
