georgia after one police officer was killed and another critically wounded near the georgia state university campus. within the last few hours, police released this wanted poster, offering a $30,000 reward to help cap closure the suspected gunman. suspected gunman. suspected gun. kerry sanders has this >> reporter: an urgent manhunt under way in america's georgia. a suspect well inbred, accused of shooting two police officers. >> this is a very dangerous individual. we need to have him off >> reporter: 9:40 a.m. the officers responding to a domestic dispute at an apartment complex when shots were fired t. officers hit and littleerick took off. nearby golf course and area universities on lock down. a digital message sent to those on campus, please secure all doors and windows. >> within minutes of the call, our campus was on lockdown. >> reporter: killed officer

other officer, four-year veteran jody smith with the university police department fighting for his life. th has been[; a deadly year for law enforcement. 63 officers shot and killed in the line of duty a. ?6e366% ince over last year. the top five mo deadly for those w wear blue. >> that was nbc's kerry sanders reporting. this morning, there are two other manhunts under way in parts of the country. in colombia, south carolina, police tweeted this photo suspect after he stabbed a female officer multiple times outside a wal-mart. the officer is if stable condition and was treated at the scene. officials are urging the public to dial 911 if they can identify the suspect. and in chance city, authorities have released this under surveillance video, hoping it will lead to the arrest of a gunman who ambushed an off duty officer. the officer was working security for a church sitting in his own car when the suspect walked up to him and began firing.

suspect remainstlarge. john glenn the first american to orbit the earth has been hospitalized in his home state of ohio. he was admitted more than a week ago. the 95-year-old former marine and senator suffered a stroke two years ago after having heart valve replacement surgery. it's not clear what caused him to be taken to the hospital at the ohio university. he does not necessarily have cancer, according to a spokesman. a teenager is in critical conditioft investigate a high school shooting this dramatic video shows the teen waving two large knives and lunging at a crowd of students. the second photo shows the 14-year-old on the ground clutching his neck. he was shot by a campus police officer t. student was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition. police say he got into a fight with a classmate wednesday and began threatening other students with a knife. there are no ought injuries.
