we have a historic hurricane that has formed. we are looking ahead to tomorrow. in our area we need all of you to be prepared for the severe weather. weather. in less than 24-hours it will be a completely different scenario. on storm tracker 10. no rain at all. i want to widen the view for you. then you can see that we will be looking at additional chances of rain as we head into the next 24-hours. we are talking about a threat of possible tornadoes. and just last weekend we saw that tornado in cape coral. we could be in a similar situation. the entire 10 weather team will be tracking it for you. we'll have more on the developing weather situation coming up. >> thank you very much.

new at noon two winning powerball bought in the bay area for a one million prize. if you know anyone on the east coast of florida you may want to give them a call. you are looking at the publix where a winner bought the ticket for the big prize. 11 smaller winning tickets were sold in florida. right now daniel nottingham is in chino hills, california where someone bought one of the three tickets. >> reporter: word spread fast in chino hills that this 7- eleven sold a winning powerball ticket. >> we heard the news. we came down to see what the winner was. it is not us. >> reporter: the winner has not yet come forward but that didn't stop the celebration.

>> maybe next year. >> reporter: this morning it was back to business as usual. some customers were buying tickets for saturday's drawing. >> do you think this is a lucky spot for buying tickets? >> i think so. now i know where to go. >> reporter: the owner of this celebrate. he takes home a one million cut. >> a million. it feels so good. >> reporter: another winning ticket was sold at a supermarket near orlando. the third ticket was sold in munford, tennessee. >> california, tennessee and in florida already state laws that require the winner's names be released. we'll eventually find out who the multimillionaires are. there are 11 smaller powerball

to see a list of the numbers go to wtsp.com. isis claimed responsibility for the deadly paris-style terror attacks in indonesia's capitol today inside a starbucks. >> reporter: eyewitness video captured the moment two suspected attackers set off a bomb outside of a starbucks. indonesia authorities say a series of explosions rocked the busy area popular with tourists. seven people were killed including five attackers. suddenly the explosion went off, this witness said. i saw two people running away and two people lying on the ground bleeding. assailants road motorbikes and used grenades and guns. at one point security forces hid behind a car as they waved a gun battle against the suspect. it is the first terror attack in the area since islam bombed two hotels in 2009.

responsibility for the violence. indonesia raised the security alert to the highest level. the president is calling the assault an act of terror. >> indonesia has the world's largest muslim population and battled islamic extremism for years. hollywood is remembering allen rickman. he died at the age of 69 from cancer. here's a look back at his extensive career. >> reporter: allen rickman made a big first impression on american movie goers as the villain in the original "die hard" movie in 1988. he had already made a name for himself on the british stage with the royal shakespeare company.

all these experiences they need in the classroom. thanks to a teacher shortage in florida, school districts are desperate to bring new teachers in. hillsborough county started this past school year 200 teachers short. typically if you wanted to become a teacher you would have to go to school to get a bachelor's degree in education or your masters. now anyone with a bachelor's degree can take courses online, take two tests and they are a teacher. >> it takes away from the profession. if you are going to get a certification from a online program what is the next step? just give them a book and say read this and go in the classroom? it doesn't make sense. >> reporter: between 40 to 50% of teachers leave the profession within the first five years of their career?

it has been going on 16 years now. what a great program. how does it work? >> it is an amazing program. a nutshell goodwill sun coast collects donations of children's books. we clean them and label them. we have volunteers span out to six counties. they go to head start programs or other places where kids may be financially disadvantaged. they'll read a book to the kids. when they are done reading each child gets a personalized book to take home. >> what that thrill for those kids. that brings in sandy. you read to the kids and have the you of presenting these books. >> yes, i read to 3-year-olds and 4-year-olds in duneden. i have five classes i read to each month. they get so excited. many times they'll hug their book and their name is on the back of it. we have a special label on the back of each book so they know

>> is that a big difference that they don't have to return it to a library. this is their book. >> yes. that's one of the reasons they get so excited. they can see these books in school but they have to give them back. they can see these books at a library but they have to return them. but this one i get to take home. they are very excited about it. >> you are a former educator. you know how important reading is. >> absolutely, yes. i think the parents are also learning. many of the children i read to are spanish-speaking children. they are just learning english. i tell them if you can not read the words you can still read the pictures and they learn quickly. >> is this just the basis? reading is such an important skill and you are trying to get the joy of reading early to these kids.

no rain yet. it will stay mainly dry today. we have moisture to our south. out in the western gulf of mexico we have a developing area of low pressure and a trailing trough. this will mean a big change in our weather as we head into early friday morning. in fact, storm prediction center put us in a risk of severe weather. a marginal risk. as we know from past events, sometimes they underplay things. the entire 10 weather team we have you covered. we'll be tracking this system hour-by-hour. the other big story of the day is hurricane alex. a hurricane in january. the last time this happened was in 1978. it is very unusual. it is very far away from us. it is 400 miles south moving north. in 36 hours it will degenerate. it is something more of interest than anything. temperatures cool out there.

it is 59 degrees in st. petersburg. 60 in carrollwood. tampa checking in at 64 degrees. for today mostly cloudy skies. temperatures in the 60s through this evening. overnight they are not going to drop much. because clouds will continue and our winds will be shifting to a warmer wind flow. today winds basically out of the east. a lot of cloud cover. breezy at times. then we'll see deteriorating conditions friday morning. here's the big event. this is 8:00 a.m. you can see the wave approaching the nature coast. then another wave to our south. then we start to see clearing conditions by mid afternoon. let's zoom in it for you. you can really see where we expect the rain. this is 8:00 a.m. we could see tomorrows around 7:00. be aware of that. we know sometimes these systems speed up or slow down. chief meteorologist jim van fleet will have you covered starting at 5:00 p.m. tonight. here comes the main line.

with this including a risk of tornadoes. that's why it is important to take this seriously. here comes the line friday morning. the model is showing a break in the action for tampa bay. 2:00 rough weather mainly pushing south. to summarize your weather on friday, friday morning for your morning commute breezy and the storms will be increasing. windy during the afternoon. storms ending for the bay area. somewhere probably between 1:00 to 2:00. mild temperatures for your friday evening. unfortunately, we have another batch of rough weather to talk about. for the rest of today it is dry. maybe a few isolated showers. that's it. especially for the southern zones. it is friday we are looking at a good chance of severe weather. definitely strong storms and heavy rain.
