your breath away. this is what's left after a tornado on sunday. homes ripped apart, everything inside tossed around outside. it is think about these everything they have. here's exactly what we were two e-f-2 the first in manatee county, in the town of duette, with winds at 127 miles per hour, ripping a 300-yard- wide path of destruction along a nine-mile stretch. then, in sarasota county, another tornado with 132 mile per hour winds, 350 yards wide for just over a mile. we want to take

four grandchildren ages 6-10all recovering now at the hospital "i'm amazed to see that anybody got out of this alive. i mean you've looked at the debris behind us here this is just complete devastation for this home." 01:02:25:21 complete devastation now for a community, without their loved ones nats and only a memory of what their once was 'they loved their grand memory of what their once was 'they loved their grand kids, they loved their neighbors. steve would do anything in the world for anybody any time." 00:32:39:26 that was jennifer titus reporting. we spoke with some other neighbors who said they heard their alerts or weather radio go off and spent sunday morning in their safe space. with this being an el nino winter- officials say they can't emphasize enough how important it is to know where your tornado shelter is. there's been an outpouring of support from those wanting to help this family. one of the family members has created a go fund me page...to help pay for funeral expenses and to help the rest of the family get back on their feet. we've posted the link on our website wtsp dot com. governor scott

at much of the tornado damage across parts of manatee and his first stop was at the ex-celsior beach to bay condo towers on siesta key, which took a direct hit from one of the tornados. talked with those impacted and thanked first responders. to formally declare this tornado damage a disaster, the could step in to help pay for things like temporary housing and home repairs. governor scott says its still to early to tell if that will happen because the damage is still being assessed. the damage inside condos is being described as extensive. there tell us they cover after the tornado blew out many of the windows on the buildings upper floors. it was flying debris that likely the windows on all sides of the building. winds up around 120 up stones, medal siding, garbage cans, the front sign ripped out of the ground. many of the cars out in the parking lot lost many of their windows and had damage from debris. even the parking cover was ripped off its support beams. the tower on the

deemed unsafe. the red cross working to make sure people who live there had other places to stay. this is the community right next door where you can see the aluminum roofing was ripped off. just an absolute mess. some of the pool furniture, a table, flipped up high into the bushes. more debris out on the beach, where there were a lot of people out taking a look at all the damage. we talked with one family who came down from chicago for a week long vacation. the tornado hit on their first night here. the window bed where they were sleeping. the husband managed to grab his wife, take her into the bathroom where they escaped with only a few scratches from all the glass. there was a daring rescue daring rescue baywinds lane area of sarasota. jonathan petramala has their story. even living on a street named

no one would expect it to blow like this the worst kind of wakeup an ef2 tornado, three football fields wide, with winds estimated at 132 miles per hour took this roof, and dunked it in a neighbors pool. two women had to be rescued from the second story. fortunately only property, not people were damaged and destroyed on a morning when the bay wind turned tornadic that was jonathan petramala reporting. while residents and volunteers made progress cleaning up, there is still a lot to do. if your home was damaged by the tornado in sarasota county, there will be some help for you.

to be placed at busy areas like airports, highway rest stops.## over the weekend a huge crowd came out to remember a bay area biker who was hit and killed by an alleged drunk driver on new year's eve. 31-year-old matthew deremer was a marine corp veteran. motorcyclists and veterans came memorial ride in his they road from lutz to st. petersburg, many of them wearing de- reemer's signature green camo. they had no idea son touched, but they say they're not surprised. just hours before deremer passed away, he wrote a hopeful post on facebook saying: "i really don't know where i'll end up tonight but i do know where i wind up -- is where i'm meant to be." that post has been shared and liked more than
