good afternoon, thanks for joining us, we a pair of deadly tornadoes that pit the bay area over the weekend crews and homeowners are cleaning up after tornadoes killed two people in manatee county. this is a live look this afternoon. where the one tornado killed to individuals. there were two different powerful ef2's, one in manatee county of that's where winds ripped a 300 wide path of

stretch. in sarasota county, 132-mile per hour winds it was 350-yards wide and touched down for over a mile. sara halen beck begins our team coverage. >> a tale of heartbreak and survival. right now, people are going through that what is left of the debris trying to find any momentum, family photos, toys of the little kids that lived >> wonderful people. the world will not be the same without them. >> reporter: a grandfather killed in the 125125-mile per hour winds. rescue her grandkids, she climbed out of the debris, got them to safety and later died of the a heart heart attack. all of the kids are expected to be okay it wasn't until 10 minutes after the storm ravaged this area the neighbors finally got an alert on their phone

danger, it came too late for the wilson's the storm pounded the area, brutally picking up 100-yards they say it's like a train. it's like rolling thunder. closer. >> this massive cleanup is expected to take several days. they determined it was an ef2 tornado with winds up to 127- miles per hour. >> >> we also have new video in of the damage to another area after another tornado hit see yes, sir that keys the tornado we talked about sunday morning took aim and a condominium complex. no one was hurt, but there was significant damage to several homes. completing our team coverage with the cleanup and recovery and it could reach into the millions of dollars. >> >> crews are having a really

out exactly where to start the cleanup process after this area. if you take a look, you can see all of the tree limbs and things all over the place in some areas, this barely looks like a tennis court look at the roof on the dome, much of it is gone. the railing is bent out of place and in some places, not even there officials say the condo is too dangerous for people to be inside. those that were here when it all happened say this is something like they have never seen tornado came directly through here. trees, limbs were breaking and hitting the windows and so forth, it was frightening. >> reporter: the red cross is giving out hotel vouchers for people that don't have a place to go. meantime, teams are assessing all of the damage trying to get things back to normal as we mentioned.

you. a resource center on ta miami trail. you can go there and meet with utility officials, sheriff's deputies and members of the red cross. >> we had the system on friday where we didn't have the strong thunderstorms, more energy to work with saturday to sunday. what i'm showing you is the loop that starts at midnight morning. that line right there is the line that did it. as we zoom in, you can see the storm reports with the tornadoes there. that's the one -- i wanted to show you a different view of it. this is the rotation inside of the storm and can see, we had a lot. we were tracking this off shore about 45 minutes before it made

that was very, very impressive that key. i'm surprised we didn't see see. as you can see, it moved to the northeast, it was moving 65- miles per hour and sometimes faster by the time it got there there was very little time to get out of the way, the warning when out wider part along the beach and skips along the ground and eventually made it to duet. beyond there, it started to lift up and fall apart. that was some of the worst damage we did see that was with the cold front. that's what came through. we feel the cold front out there, now, it's chilly. we will be lucky to get to the 60s, today, a couple of colder days and nights ahead then we'll warm things up. we'll talk about that and another front coming through friday. could see some strong thunderstorms with that. details coming up. >>

it feels better in the sun, today, like that, tomorrow and wednesday, we'll start a warmup, but the morning is coming up. school was closed, tomorrow morning, the bus stop forecast wednesday morning will be the coldest. so, 57 right now in tampa, average high temperature for this time of the year, 70 degrees. we would be lucky to get to 60, today, we'll be below average and we are all pretty much in the upper 50s to near 60. 57 in sarasota, venice about the same. 61 in lakeland, color water is not reporting, right now, 58 there and 57 in brooksville. those are some chilly numbers. thankfully, the win has come down, so it's not as breezy out there. number one, that means the water levels have come down. they have been high the last couple of days, but with the wind going down, so will the tide.

you see these clouds here, also off the coast, these are actually comingy with the northerly flow. it's a little more out of the north and west. but that's that cold dry air picking up some warm moisture off the gulf of mexico making those low level clouds, sometimes if they were to blow out of the northwest, the wind that is, it would blow in other direction. that's not the case today. a couple of high clouds but i'm not expecking much. temperature wise, briefly, we may get to 60 degrees. 59 and 60. 3:00 to 3:30 and that's it, we are falling back down. we will lose the sun angle and we'll fall off pretty quickly. dry the rest of the afternoon. very chilly. only a few high clouds. it looks like we may have a few for the afternoon, making for a beautiful sunset. 52 this evening and going down

morning. in fact, take a look at some of the numbers as we get into 50s. that's it. tomorrow night, even colder, clear skies, light winds. the core of the air mass is here and that means wednesday morning will be our coldest. 7:00, 39 in tampa. 40 in sarasota. 31 for crystal river, which basically means near freezing temperatures, so there is a freeze watch for brooksville. citrus counties until 9:00 am wednesday morning, for tuesday night into wednesday. the next storm system i was talking about. that will get her friday. look at the 70s thursday, friday, it looks like mid-day. out of here by late friday night. they could be strong. it does not look as severe as what we just dealt with. but there will be some pretty good thunderstorms in there. we'll track it closely.
