the zika virus is spreading explosively. there's a new case right here in tampa bay. and we now know it can be transmitted through sex. to give you an idea how fast it's spreading: last may the first alert went out for a confirmed case in brazil. now there are more than a million cases there, and 28 countries and territories are dealing with a zika crisis. just on tuesday, there were six new cases in florida. 10news reporter courtney robinson has more on the new concerns and how bug spray won't protect you. two confirmed cases of zika virus in hillsborough county. 30 in the entire country and until now all had been infected while

tornadoes have been reported in mississippi and alabama. right now, we don't know if anyone was hurt. new hampshire is the new battleground in the race to the white house. the first-in-the- nation primary is less than a week away and the candidates are blanketing the state with rallies and appearances. on the democratic side, hillary clinton's camp has more work to do trying to attract young and first time voters. sanders is leading in the new hampshire polls and is expected to do well on his new england home turf. new hampshire voters cast their ballots next tuesday. investigators are still trying to figure out who abandoned a box of puppies, covered in mange! someone spotted them on the side of the road and took them to the humane

nine states is being linked to protein shakes. the c-d-c says "raw meal organic shake and meal products" have made 11 people sick and at least one person has been hospitalized. the products were distributed nationwide. the company issued a voluntary recall. but the the c-d-c says that some stores and online sites are still selling the shakes. and a crook picks the wrong gas station to rob. surveillance video from brevard county shows the suspect, pointing a gun at the clerk, demanding money. but the clerk, who is a u-s military veteran, decided to fight back. you can see the two struggle over the weapon. the clerk wrestled the gun away and the robber ran out of the store and hopped into a getaway car. listen to this: one-million nurses are needed - nationwide by 20-22. "sarasota memorial hospital" started aggressively recruiting last year, hiring 150 nurses to keep up with the turnover.
