meteorologist bobby deskins. bay area juvenile detention facilities bay area juvenile detention facilities are supposed to be putting troubled teens on the right path. but, we've uncovered problems on the inside... prompting hundreds of 911 calls. there are 10 of these state-funded facilities in the bay area.. all privately run by the company "g-4-s". 10 news reporter kendra conlon is digging deeper into

you to fix it. we've seen the aftermath from riots... fights and escapes caught on camera... inside bay area juvenile detention centers... staff arrested accused of sex acts with the teens. leaders have been calling for change. recently, 2 teens escaped from the tampa residential facility through a hole in the fence... only to be captured days later. 2 workers got fired, two others punished. it's the latest in the long list of problems for company g4s. we wanted to know... just how many times police and deputies have been called out to these facilities. here's what we found at this columbus drive complex: from 2012 through mid- january... 291 calls... 70 percent of the cries for help..

founded. reports of child abuse.. assault... sexual battery... and here at les peters academy... from 2013 to 2015, tampa police handled another 71 calls. representative kathleen peters and the department of juvenile justice tell me with offenders having unlimited access to the dcf abuse hotline, they expect everytime there's an accusation of child abuse it will be investigated.. and staff should err on the side of caution when deciding to call law enforcement. g-4-s tells me it has a plan to make sure an escape - doesn't happen again. i asked the state for a copy and was told - it's still being finalized. in the newsroom, kendra conlon, 10 news wtsp the governor has requested an additional nearly 13-million dollars in this year's state budget to repair
