we've seen a lot of wrong way drivers this time-- a deputy had a close call. it happened along i- 75 near exit 200. investigators tell 10news reporter kendra conlon the driver had been in the break-down lane for at least 6 miles. it's terrifying for these drivers to from a sarasota county squad car... just before 11 monday morning -

this is what's left in assumption parrish, louisiana. officials say two apparent tornadoes tore through here damaging up to 20 homes and several businesses. crime alert! a code red warning message went out tuesday night to residents in citrus county.# that message went out to people living in dunnellon. roughly everyone living along that orange line on your screen -- along dunnellon road between us 19 and 41...got the call. citrus sheriff's deputies say there's been an explosion of residential daytime burglaries in the area and are asking everyone to be on their guard. the republican presidential caucuses wrapped up in nevada overnight. and donald trump made it "3-in a row" with his win in nevada after new hampshire and south carolina. trump had a substantial lead in the polls but really it's second place many have been watching. it could give the candidates some "much-needed momentum"-- heading

almost 600 delegates will be at stake. ted cruz is hopeful. marco rubio is already campaigning in minnesota and michigan. john kasich and ben carson are just hoping to keep their campaigns alive. on the other ticket-- democrats hillary clinton and bernie sanders both took part in a town hall tuesday night in south carolina. the south carolina democratic primary is saturday. apple wants its ongoing encryption battle with the f-b-i to go before congress. apple refuses to comply with a court order-- to create a backdoor...allowing the f-b-i to access data from an iphone of one of the "san bernardino terrorists." the company has until friday to make its appeal.

headlines around the nation and the world. this is your 60 second scan. federal marshals have secretly tracked nearly six- thousand cellphones! according to newly disclosed records, they used powerful trackers -- called stingrays -- to hunt thousands of suspects in the united states. the suitcase-sized devices can pinpoint a cellphone's location within a few yards by posing as a cell tower. but -- that's raising privacy concerns. officials are waiting on test results from their male partners. parents, becomming protesters. a few dozen parents-- teachers-- and students-- stood outside the pinellas county school board on tuesday and pushed for change. a "tampa bay times investigation" labeled 5-elementary petersburg-- as the investigation shows the schools state. the "times" connected decisions by the school board as the reasons why. reasons like-- getting rid of integration-- lack of funding-- teacher turnover-- and then student disciplinary problems. but many protesters belive-- it can turn around if the school board listens. more money for teachers, more help in the classrooms and re-integrating the schools are some of the fixes

a big change to win for tampa officially kicked off on tuesday. the new "ashley global retail its grand opening. it's the "global e- headquarters" for all of "ashley furniture." the facility replaced half of the "ybor muvico"--about 70- feet. off with 100 employees: governor rick scott was at tuesday's ribbon- cutting, along with tampa city leaders and lightning owner jeff vinik. ashley furniture is the largest furniture manufacturer in the world. what to watch for this morning.. how about some free food! chick-fil-a is offering everyone who stops by one of its tampa bay location a "free" breakfast item. the catch is -- you won't know which item until you get there. and there's a possibility the chain

new health code violations to tell you about at a popular fast food chain. now it looks like management at one popeye's chicken location. tried to cover up the violations. so customers wouldn't find out! we're talking about the popeye's hill.

more on all the problems. and why. the restaurant might not have wanted customers to know. when 10investigates stopped by this spring hill popeye's. earlier this month. we found the doors still locked. even though a state health inspector already cleared the restaurant to reopen. the restaurant was shut down as an emergency closure on february 2nd. but many customers had no idea why. 22:19 i've never noticed anything bad about it. i've always thought it was a good restaurant. signs on every entrance and at the drive-thru indicated. a simple "lack of hot water" was the reason for the latest closure. but the restaurant's earlier state inspection reports make no mention of hot water issues.
