day two. hogan is suing gawker for $100 million over a leaked sex tape. 10 news reporter jennifer titus is live at the courthouse. afternoon. >> reporter: 106 potential jurors are left from the 500 that showed up at the court yesterday. before this trial begins that number has to be dwindled down to nine. hulk hogan showed up at the courthouse at 8:00 a.m. the judge said she was disappointed in the jurors. yesterday they were told to fill out a questionnaire. when they asked whether or not they would be able to stay off the news or internet and ways to research the case many simply said no. she was not happy with that answer. all but 35 jurors were excused as both attorneys had more questions to ask.

again seemed to have checked on yesterday's questionnaire they either knew about hulk hogan or had some personal information shared on the internet. the rest of the jurors are to today. at 5:00 i'm taking a closer look at how hard it is going to be to get an impartial jury because this case has had so much attention. jennifer titus 10 news wtsp. this next story could have ended differently. a 9-year-old girl has minor injuries after she was hit brooksville. florida highway patrol say it happened on cortez boulevard near red bud lane. the 9-year-old was hit when a 37-year-old lost control of her suv and ended up in a ditch. she was ticketed for careless driving. a likely piece of the missioning malaysian flight 370

while it is not confirmed it came from a doomed airline, as far as anyone knows it is the only missing boeing 777 in the world. the plane vanished in march 13 with 329 people on board. every time there is a deadly motorcycle accident it cost all of us one and a half million dollars for medical fees and property damage. as daytona bike week kicks off this friday we have a safety warning for you this afternoon. 10 news reporter emerald morrow explains the startling numbers on where florida stands when it comes to motorcycle deaths. >> reporter: florida comes in at number one in the nation when it comes to drivers killed if you include passengers who are also killed we rank at number two. that's something you want to think about before heading to daytona. here's something else to consider, as well. department of transportation says many florida drivers killed in motorcycle accidents

29% or nearly one third had more than the legal limit. experts want you to be mindful of this as we head into bike week. >> if you are hopping on the bike make sure you are not going to have alcohol. park the bike and don't get on it if you have had a few drinks. >> reporter: department of transportation says motorcycle drivers killed in accidents have the higher percentage of alcohol-impaired drivers than any other vehicle wrecks. if you are heading over to bike week i know you'll have a good time and probably a few drinks but take this as a friendly and gentle reminder to drink responsibly and be safe on the roads. in st. pete emerald morrow 10 news wtsp. polk county fire investigators are trying to figure out what started a fire and killed a man and woman and their dog this morning.

damaged after it was caught in a storm off the east coast on its way to florida. this afternoon there is more trouble for royal caribbean. the company had to cut another cruise short and dock this morning in new jersey. ship was scheduled to return from a southern caribbean cruise on friday. plans were skipped to avoid predicted strong winds and despite the shorter cruise passengers are not that upset. >> the storm is coming in so we got here before the storm. i had a great time. the ship is amazing. we can not wait to go back on the anthem. it was awesome! >> the captain was following a storm avoidance policy instituted after the ship was damaged last month. astronaut scott kelly spoke about his year in space after returning to earth overnight.

fruits and vegetables could help save lives in the future. researchers say a 10% reduction in the cost of fruits and vegetables through 2030 could lower the death rate of heart disease and stroke by 1%. that means 60,000 lives would be saved. it is perfect spring training weather. we'll get sunshine back in the forecast later today. right now we are seeing the sunshine breaking through. still a lot of low clouds out there. those will hang out with us for the next few hours. 75 tampa. 74 st. pete. we are seeing 70 into crystal river. 72 brooksville. inland a couple of 80s in the mix. 80 in bartow as well as sebring. 81 temple terrace. 71 largo. 78 zephyrhills. we are doing well. we are seeing thick cloud cover shift south. it will take two to three more hours to really get some more sunshine back into the mix. we will get you some before the sunset coming up at 6:30 tonight. late afternoon sunshine. we are talking about 4:00 to 5:00 we'll start to see that

because we move in the drier air with this morning's cold front, we will see the dew points coming down. that means our overnight temperatures are going to drop much more. our daytime highs have not boundary. we'll see communities hitting morning's front. 80 plant city. polk city. i-4 will be a popular spot to be flirting with the 80-degree mark. all in all looking really, really nice this afternoon. this nice pattern will hang out with us a little bit longer. here's our future cast. you can see the clouds lingering towards the 3:00 hour. 4:00 or 5:00 we'll see a few bands left over. we can copy and paste this forecast on friday. thursday we'll see another area

largo's theater is bringing back jesus christ super star. the show's director joined studio 10 live and talked about the joy of doing musical theater. >> doing these shows in the community is a labor of love. the people go to work all day. they come to rehearsals and push through so many obstacles they have in their life. they love doing this and they come. it is magical and different when you are working on these shows. >> if you are interested jesus christ super star continues through march 20th at the largo cultural center. thousands of young readers across the country taking time today to read their favorite dr. suess book.

>> allison and i had a chance to read our favorites to students in clearwater this morning. green eggs and ham is a popular one and the places you go. >> mine was go dog go. march 2nd is a nationwide celebration in honor of the children's author. schools, libraries and community centers participate every year. you may see stuff on social media. people have their favorite books. it is a fun time to read classics. >> we have a couple of hours. we are still cloudy. >> just having a good time. clouds sticking around most of the afternoon. >> by 4:00 we'll start to see most of the area beginning to see more sunshine. we are not tracking another round of rain until friday. looks like that will be a quick, early morning. we may get a couple showers that will move through.
