new information tonight about a south carolina teacher forced to resign over nude photos on her phone. the teacher says he is worried about her family's safety after getting threatening messages in her mailbox at home. she resigned last week. >> reporter: the messages were written on the back of one of the four photos taken from her phone. they said you got what you kids see. >> it has been very emotional.

family dog was trapped in a burning car for 20 minutes. drew nickelson shows you the rescue firefighters feared. >> it was amazing. >> reporter: security camera got shots of stephanie and the 4-year-old walking in the store last year. cora was in the car with the windows cracked. within minutes customers started noticing smoke coming from inside.

the fire chief happened to be in car wash in the walmart parking lot. he had an extinguisher on the fire just as the fire truck was rolling into the lot. he originally told stephanie the dog was likely dead. but then cora ran out and was just fine. >> i want to tell the fire department i'm blessed and thankful they saved my dog. i told each one of them that and gave them a hug. >> reporter: her daughter made sure to thank and hug the fire chief. the chief says in a line of work where you deal with tragedies all the time it is nice to have a call for help that ends with a smile. >> that is so sweet. the dog did have a few burned paws. otherwise she was okay. avon park high another teacher suspected of sharing nude pictures of herself with a 16- year-old student. >> it doesn't make sense in my mind. i don't know how it makes sense in theirs. >> that's not what we send our kids to school for. >> i have many people calling and saying is it okay to send my kids to school. >> reporter: the highlands county sheriff confirms nine more charges have been filed against safety hook. the middle school teacher was recently jailed for having sex with a 14-year-old student. less than two weeks ago a sexting scandal at lake placid middle school involving so many graphic images on so many student's phones the principal had to call an emergency meeting with parents. >> maybe you need to have a sit down with what is appropriate and what is not. >> reporter: district administrators say it is not their hiring practices that seem to have been the issue.
