shows hillary clinton ahead of donald trump. other three republicans against clinton provide better odds with the gop with marco rubio, ted cruz and john kasich all beating her. the most impressive of which is kasich's 51 to 34% lead. hillary clinton's daughter chelsea made a stop in sarasota this morning. former first daughter held a get out and vote event. 300 people came to hear her views on the election. >> we have to have a president who knows how to work with republicans because they are not going anywhere at this moment in time as much as we might wish it otherwise. we need a president who knows how to stand her ground. >> chelsea clinton made her way to st. petersburg before stopping in central florida. some canidates themselves are making the rounds across florida. >> they are including a former canidate ben carson. he endorsed donald trump as

carson says donald trump will be willing to do anything to fight political interest groups on political class. home state canidate marco rubio campaigned in west palm beach and spent the morning talking about our relationship with israel. later rubio urged republicans in ohio to vote for john kasich. it could make it harder for trump to earn the nomination. rubio is making several stops in the bay area tomorrow. ted cruz made a stop at the church. cruz picked up an endorsement carly fiorina. cruz is working to make headway in florida as the tuesday's primary quickly approaches. tonight john kasich is in his hometown state of ohio.

we posted additional results from our florida political polls on our home page at wtsp.com. we have new information in a driveby shooting where a child was hurt. st. pete police think they have the car involved in yesterday's afternoon shooting. it is a white dodge challenger. police are looking for who is responsible. >> shooting happened on 10 avenue south in st. pete near tropicanna field. a 23-year-old man was hurt but he and the child are expected to be okay. just in, an $82 billion budget passed by the florida legislator. that's 5% larger than last year's budget. it includes a bump in money for schools. it rejects many of governor scott's top priorities including a bid to lure new companies to the state. some of his tax cuts were approved.

south to get to i-275 will be faced with this detour come monday morning. florida department of transportation suggests taking dale mabry south to bearss. if you miss the detour take lake fern to dale mabry or use sunset lane east south to bearss. those roads are small two lanes and will clog fast. all drivers will be stopped both directions at the railroad cross south of crystal lake road. repairs are expected to last two weeks barring weather delays. fdot says all businesses and driveways will remain open. local traffic should use crystal lake. long distance drivers are best served avoiding getting close to the closure all together. evening commute will be heavy going back north. use bearss to northbound dale mabry or northbound livingston. >> you can find all of the detour information quickly with

genetically modified mosquitoes could be the way to fight the zica virus in florida. food and drug administration says a planned release of modified mosquitoes in the state of florida in the florida keys would not harm people or the environment. mosquitoes, which can carry zica have dna which leads to offspring that won't survive outside of a lab. you can help prevent the spread of the zica virus by giving away your old tires. they are known to become breeding grounds for the bugs. if you live in pasco county bring your tires to locations on your screen this sunday. in pasco county leaders are determined not to repeat what happened during 2015's summer of storms. as the county introduced its new emergency operations director, it admitted

we are tracking a low that we while. it produced flooding rain in texas, louisiana and look at the storms tonight we are seeing in our panhandle that west of us. if you lived here a while you know most of our weather will come from the west. i want to talk about this and what we are expecting now that the low is on the move. this will track northeast over the weekend. while there will be big storms tonight and again firing up in the same spot in the gulf tomorrow look how, as this moves northeast, we see a much different story as this gets closer and closer to us.
