law enforcement on the wrong side of the law. many say they feel violated when an officer breaks the very rules they're sworn to uphold. but worse yet is when that badge gives someone a free pass or slap on the wrist. st pete police officer anthy green was arrested tuesday morning and charged with his second d-u-i. he'll keep his badge...for now. and as 10 news reporter jonathan petramala discovered, this isn't uncommon. for the second time in his career, a st petersburg police officer has found himself on the other side of the law for dui but unlike officer anthony green's previous dui arrest in 2009, this time he will be suspended

he won't lose his job...yet. those numbers are unofficial, since no government agency collects that information. in fact the bowling green study is based on simple google news alerts. a spokesperson for tampa police says officer dui's are handled on a case by case basis. in st petersburg after his first dui, green wasn't allowed to drink for five years. but now - his second chance appears to have been squandered. in st petersburg, jonathan petramala, 10 news wtsp.

found, law enforcement officers are most commonly arrested for simple assault, and then dui. the d-o-j just announced last week... it will track shootings by officers. but there is no government tracking of crimes involving officers. last year...he was honored as an "emerging leader" in polk county. now...he's charged with killing an elderly woman. polk deputies say jarvis kendrick hit and killed a 74- year-old..then took off in his car and tried to cover it up. the victim.. janice joy.. had ei road. after the crash, deputies say kendrick intentionally ran into a sign on i-4 to damage his truck and get it fixed...but the damage to his car didn't add up. kendrick is a v-p at midflorida credit union. the heated battle over legalizing medical marijuana this election ignites in a debate. the man who's been bank-rolling a big part of amendment 2 takes on a doctor who deals with drug addiction. 10news reporter kendra conlon is in orlando as sparks fly. amendment 2

attorney john morgan -- and substance abuse doctor jessica spencer - didn't waste time taking off the gloves in the debate over medical marijuana... and whether it'll help people with debilitating conditions... or hurt people by having access to the drug. the amendment asks voters if you approve the use of marijuana for certain medical conditions licensed doctor. the department of health would regulate dispensaries and issue id cards to patients and caregivers. morgan believes opponents are using scare tactics... dr. spencer insists that's not how the

deaths. 10 news reporter jenny dean looks into the alternatives for treating your children. dana pancoast has seen her share of coughs, bumps and bruises. you would expect as much with two energetic boys, just 7 and 8 years old. but she has always avoided codeine... mainly because she is allergic to it. even when her 7 year old broke his collar bone a few years ago... she chose not to use the stronger painkiller. dr. rachel dawkins is the medical director of the general pediatrics clinic at johns hopkins all childrens hospital. she says codeine is

for pain, but as an ingredient in cough medicines. dr. dawkins says codeine isn't widely prescribed for kids, but it does happen, so parents need to make sure they ask questions. dana agrees... and tries to avoid medicines altogether with homepathic methods. in st. petersburg, jenny

it's a program training people to become law enforcement officers. but now there's concern: it is out of control. 10 investigates mike deeson first uncovered one student's problem with the "law enforcement academy at st petersburg college". now-- mike is hearing from others who say it is a much bigger issue. lori mento is

injury during training at the law enforcement academy at st. petersburg college. this 2002 accident report says mento was hurt when she bumped into a window during a physical confrontation exercise with her instructor rick tapia but when the college investigated the incident- it determined she was forced through a window. mento says her leg was sliced open and she nearly bled to death. shle lawsuit claiming- it was known the training's location was dangerous. but she says the worst part about the whole ordeal.. was that her instructor got an award for saving her life. the same instructor who she says forced her through the window. mento- ended up settling for 45- thousand dollars.

instructor rick tapia is the same person accused of causing several injuries to kathleen denardi during her training. she says she was injuries to kathleen denardi during her training. she says she was forced to box against men twice her size. tapia- couldn't say much more because of a pending lawsuit from denardi. now to amy andrews she filled her own suit against the college after she was hurt in physical training- forcing her to abandon a law enforcement career. that suit resulted in 15-thousand dollar settlement. again - taxpayer money. your money.

scott saying the attorney sent this letter to governor scott saying the program is not safe. following our investigation- the florida department of law is reviewing the program. but it's not just women making these claims. robert bechard was hospitalized twice during his training and didn't graduate st.

released this statement to mike deeson about the overall program. during defensive and physical training there are inherent risks as recruits put into practice these skills and participate in demonstrations. in fact, as has been reported, there were two dozen reported injuries in the last five years in the law enforcement academies. the majority of these injuries were minor, and the recruits were treated and returned to class. it is unfortunate that some have chosen to misrepresent this program, which has an outstanding reputation and is highly respected by the law enforcement community. and suddenly seeing a snake-- slither up your windshield! a dunedin man says it turned out to be a nearly "6 foot long snake" hiding under his hood! 10news reporter beau zimmer has the amazing video and what happened next. tim mokwa got a big surprise driving home from work monday. 00:52 he just popped his little head up right over here. that little head.
