early voting today. the 14-day early voting period began at 7:00 this morning. it continues through sunday, november 6. this comes as florida is in the middle of a tight race for president. the latest cbs news battleground tracker poll shows hillary clinton leading donald trump by three points here. and this is a good time to remind you that if you are voting early or casting your ballot on election day keep that ballot away from the camera. ballot selfies are against law. you know what that means. snapping or posting a picture of yourself with the ballot. here in florida no photography is allowed in polling rooms and that does extend to mail-in ballots if they are filled out. don't take a picture. don't post it on social media. instead, they say stick with your i voted sticker. with two weeks to go before the election donald trump brings his campaign to tampa. now he may be lagging in the

credit union amphitheater in tampa. mark rivera joins us live at that amphitheater awaiting trump's arrival. i know it's hard to hear because the crowd is already gathering behind you. >> reporter: yes. they are so excited right now, and like you said at the beginning here, donald trump is down in the polls by about -- by double digits nationally. he is down in florida. but you wouldn't be able to tell from how energized his base is. they turned out here. probably five there are two things we are going to be watching for tonight for donald trump to address. number one, the allegations that have been brought up against him by 11 women now, and part of the reason -- or part of what he is doing to address that is handing out these during his rallies. women for trump. nearly every woman out here today, every woman out here that is -- has a -- has one of these signs, women for trump.

tonight. we will bring you exactly what he says and the big points tonight at 11:00. in tampa, mark rivera, 10news wtsp. >> all right. mark, much appreciated to you. and hillary clinton was campaigning this afternoon in new hampshire along with massachusetts senator elizabeth warren. clinton is widening her campaign message tonight focusing on helping congressional candidates at well as battling donald trump. clinton will be in tampa on wednesday afternoon for 2:45 rally at curtis hixon park. have been a routine traffic stop thrust the city of st. petersburg in chaos. that is when police shot and killed tyronn tyron lewis. when an officer got in front of his car, lewis tried to run him over, and that is when he was killed. within minutes a crowd gathered.

two decades later where the shooting happened, to remember lewis and what they consider other victims of police violence have been through. today lewis' son spoke with us. >> i just have one thing to say. i just want. and heroin addiction. >> i have found a couple 12- step programs and i have surrounded myself by people going in the same direction as myself. >> reporter: the 34-year-old father and husband says he has been clean for four months in a recovery program. >> i did for me. >> reporter: thompson says he is proof there is a better way to live than on drugs, but warns finding the drugs is still easier. >> some of the programs are limited. they don't have enough space. they don't have have the funding. >> reporter: treating the addiction is where legislators should focus on, he says, not arresting our way out of the program. >> as long as the people want it, there is always somebody to sell it. >> reporter: senator marco rubio and other republican leaders heard from law enforcement and hospital staff who are fighting the heroin epidemic on the front lines. >> people have no idea. >> reporter: the heroin epidemic is taxing law enforcement and hospital

nothing doing on stormtracker 10. in fact, we are staying dry tonight. we are staying dry tomorrow, too. now, here's the set-up. high pressure firmly in control. with high pressure we see that sinking air, and that is going to keep us nice and quiet really for the next serve days. cold front just to our north across the southeast united states, but this area of high pressure, it's a blocking mechanism. so this cooler air will not dip southward into the bay area. not this time. sorry, courtney. so now, around the nation we are watching an area of low pressure off to the portions of canada and also another big area of low pressure off the pacific northwest. you can see rain right now funneling into portions of oregon, california, and even as far south across l.a., santa barbara, san diego. that's a sure sign we are transitioning to fall. current temps out there tonight

the northeast. during the afternoon a little more east to northeast bringing in just a little moisture from the atlantic. dew points, they are going to be warming into the low 60s as we head into tuesday and wednesday. i can show you that on this map right here that gives us an indication of the moisture in the mid and upper levels. those dark shades of orange, as they disappear that means our moisture is increasing. low 80s nature coast tomorrow. mid-80s for the bay area. a nice day out there on the water with a gh bays and seas around two feet. let's talk about the seven-day forecast. it is looking nice all the way through halloween next monday with high temps staying in the mid-80s, and nothing more than a 10% chance of a few stray showers. thursday, friday, and into saturday. a local university is getting noticed for being among the top ten when it comes to new inventions. we are talking about usf getting noticed for the amount of patents granted. kind of cool to think about. something you see in stores,
