mark rivera is on the ground where the gates are open now at noon. mark. >> reporter: yeah. allison, you know, hillary clinton is spending her week in florida and north carolina and iowa. these are three states with the early voting programs in the united states. she has to desperately get every vote she can, she knows. the crowd is about a block down here at curtis hixon park. several hundred people lined up, not really what we are seeing at trump rallies so far. clinton, she is working hard today in florida at another event and coming here at about 3:00 today. she knows that tampa bay and the i-4 corridor are in play. even though the crowd isn't massive, you got to see that they are fired up. take a look at this exchange

expensive crosswalks here along gulf boulevard they have still had ten people die and 72 injured right here on these streets. and even though you will see a kind of crosswalk dotting the road between st. pete beach and clearwater beach, the numbers haven't improved enough. traffic officials say there are two big problems. pedestrians here along the beach are typically tourists. they may not know the area and street, not taking the extra steps to get to a crosswalk. the second problem. not all cars obey the flashing crosswalk lights because they are yellow and not red. some drivers think they mean to slow down rather than to stop. last year surveyors counted 48 cars during four hours time that did not yield to pedestrians even though they pushed the button to cross the street. >> somebody not from here lets them go, but the other lane

among the victims 22-year-old corporal thomas jarvis from fort myers. imagine serving your country and being asked to repay a military re-signing bonus. the department of justice announced it resolved the issue. the california national guard ordered men to repay $15,000 re- enlist. bonuses. >> it felt like betrayal. even if they felt they had a legal right a horrible thing to consider doing. >> robert richmond was stunned when he was asked to pay back the bonus. the letters were sent back after an audit revealed that the california national guard overpaid them. there is a bill in congress that could stop the military's ability to recover overpayments. the national guard says while states may have been affected, most of those were in california. if you live in st. pete

rising a little bit and our winds a little bit on the breezy side out of the east- northeast at 12. taking a look at current temperatures, some spots a little bit cooler than others. right now it's 77 degrees in new port richey. 82 for tampa. already warm for the folks in bartow. 83 degrees. and 82 degrees in polk city. so a little breezy today. our pressure gradient, it is tightening. that's because as that area of high pressure strengthens over the mid-atlantic we see the winds out of the east- northeast. 24 miles per hour in lakeland today and some wind gusts of 23 miles per hour davis island. so breezy today, and that's going to be a little problematic for the boaters out there. seas 2 to 5 feet. small craft advisory in effect through friday morning. our next tide time in ten minutes at 12:22. a low tide at 6:26. all right. your high temperatures for today warming into the mid-and- upper 80s.
