now a hit-and-run suspect that killed a mother and seriously hurt a deputy over the weekend went before a judge. his bond is set at $101,000. >> now, reg, 71-year-old charles lewis made a full confession. he told polk deputies he was at a bar on friday night. that's when he had a total of four beers and then drove home. now, he said he knew he hit something, but he didn't know what that something was. this story has left you with a lot of questions. now, one facebook post in it says, quote, i actually hope that the venue that let him leave to drive drunk, too drunk to drive, is held responsible as well. 10news polk county newsroom reporter grady trimble is looking into whether bars are liable for drunk driving crashes. >> reporter: the bartenders at linksters believe in going the extra mile to stop drunk driving. about a year ago that belief was tested when one of their customers had too much to drink

times if we could get him a ride, a cab, do something for him. let us call somebody for him. >> reporter: he didn't want their help and walked out of the bar. people who were here say the bartender followed him to the parking lot and tried to convince him not to get in his car and drive away. he didn't listen, but she felt like she had no choice but to call 911. >> he is very intoxicated. >> reporter: deputies caught up with the man, kyle mcneil, down they arrested him for drunk driving. that bartender may have saved a life, but legally she didn't have to go that far to stop him. under florida law there is only two reasons why a bartender could become liable for injuries or damages caused by a drunk-driving crash. one for serving alcohol to a minor, and two for serving someone who is addicted to alcohol. >> we like to do the right thing. >> reporter: he says his bartenders go through an alcohol awareness training

but citrus, hernando into sumpter county i think we could see a sprinkle. pasco a very small chance. the timing citrus, hernando, 9:30, 10:00. pasco closer to midnight. it's as the front comes through. on the other side is the drier and slightly cooler air. the winds will shift with that front. that's one of the things we look for to know where the front is. right now the winds out of the west-northwest ahead of it. later this evening they are gonna turn around front and that's that cooler drier air coming in. you see the wind there? you see that change there? that's 2 in the morning. that's the beginning of that dryer air coming in. dew points in the mid-60s will drop down into the upper 50s, which is subtle. it will be up to 80, 81 degrees, but it will feel a whole lot more comfortable. it will be slow to happen overnight tonight. we are in the 70s and mid-60s by the morning.
