it's the 18th time she's voted in a presidential election, and says this has been the most memorable. news reporter colby robert son sat down with the 89-year-old who seen it all since the first time she voted in 1948. >> do you remember the first election that you voted in? . >> i was 21 years old. i was living in lynnbrooke, and our election place was the cigarette store around the corner. ago. minyon tiptef hasn't missed an election since. this year is no different, and at the same time, there's. >> there's so much news about it. >> can't escape it? . >> you can't. you really can't. >> reporter: have you seen an election quite like this? . >> not really. i haven't. you know, there's all this name calling and

south carolina. forty-five-year-old todd kumet is charged with killing four people more than a decade ago at a motor-vehicle shop. he was arrested after a woman was found chained like a dog in a storage container on his property. he's also a suspect in at least three other murders, and facing numerous charges. investigators will continue their search of the property tomorrow. an unusual -- out of new york city. the woman you see here being taken into custody after ce of a subway train in times square. the 46-year-old victim was killed. police say the suspect has a history of psychiatric issues, and is being investigated for a similar attack last month. well the numbers are startling and even heart-breaking. parents, some of these numbers may even shock you. did you know about 49% of kids grades 4 through 12 reported being bullied at school at least once in

in august, a 13-year-old boy from staten island took his life after being bullied. it's a problem that can affect any one of your kids. and while you as a parent may try your best to intervene, jennifer tie us the shows you how a local marshal arts instructor is doing what he can to kick out bullying. >> reporter: during a marshal arts class in seminole, there's a lot to learn. but in between the chops, there's a message bigger than this mat. >> recently i've had two kids bullying me. it's not pleasant. >> reporter: tyler farasino is one of the more than 3 million kids bullied in school every year. >> it hurt his feeling, and it makes them feel really bad for who they are. >> reporter: and that's why he's here in this

bullying. >> don't lean. get this hand behind him. >> reporter: teaching kids like tyler how to fight back. jim grady said his class teaches students confidence. >> well, it's's a marshal arts class that incorporates anti-bullying instruction in the curriculum. understand, there's no quick fix to anti-bullying. >> reporter: graden says his class chops out every stage of bullying, from those who experienced it verbally and physically. >> you would be surprised how many parents come to me and bad story. just recently, a child -- he's new. middle school is the most common. ages between 12 and 14 is where you're going to find the most bullying. he just stands there with his lunch, and he gets punched in the stomach. >> reporter: graden's program is part of a nationwide movement to educate, inform, and help eradicate bullying. >> definitely boosts my confidence, and then i started having more friends to

visit this story at wtsp.com. well new tonight, in the search for the tampa bay mystery monkey number two. wildlife officials have been tracking the monkey for over a week now. the latest sighting in pinellas park, north of park boulevard, near 55th street. wildlife officials tranquilized the monkey, but now they can't find it. bo zimmer live in the newsroom. wrack this monkey be? >> reporter: hey there, research joy. you probably remember the mystery monkey, originally named cornelius. it went on for nearly four years. it's believed this one, this new monkey likely came from the same place, up near the capital area in silver spring. local trapper vernon yates working with fwc, once begun trying to locate and capture this latest monkey, most recently spotted this afternoon in pinellas park. >> we did shoot him with

playground in cleveland. the shooting and out come caused racial tension throughout the country. then, in september, a white female officer shot and killed an unarm black man in tulsa. officer betty shelby shot terrence crutcher after he was not responding to commands, and was walking away from her with his hands up. she has been charged with first- degree manslaughter. and last july, a man was shot in minnesota when police say he reached for something. the girlfriend captured most it live on facebook, and said he was licensed to carry a gun, and was reaching for his i.d.. many people say the reason that we're seeing more of these shootings are because of the cell phones. but what seems to be going wrong? is it racial issues, or is it bad training, or is it a lack of respect? i brought in a team of law enforcement experts to try to go over, as closely as possible, the police shooting that left an innocent 12-year-old dead. we wanted to try to find out

case and what cops could have done differently. here is their opinions, as we recreated two years after it happened. our first -- takes us to cleveland, ohio. two officers respond to a call about a man with a gun. >> reporter: we wanted to reenact this scenario with our team of experts. we asked retired fbi special agent oscar westerfield and retired captain al doming of the pinell county sheriff's reenactment and give us an incentive. >> right here, the officer in the passenger seat jumps from the patrol unit, and fires immediately, shooting and killing the young boy. >> what's the first thing that popped out at you that concerned you? . >> proximity. >> proximity? . >> too close, way too close. >> reporter: both law enforcement veterans say the officer should not have pulled up directly to the suspect. that placed the two-man unit in a compromising position. >> you don't have a lot of

making. and you can come one a really bad decision. not only put your partner in danger; but if that had been an active shooter, he turned around and started shooting, not only would we have to be accountable for the officers who were already in the line of fire, but what about the projectiles that were fired? where do they go in the neighborhood? somebody else would have been shot. >> reporter: you think this is a training issue? . >> it is a training issue. >> it's a training issue. >> reporter: in the next en differently. >> get down on the. drop the gun. >> turn around. turn around. >> put your hand on your head. >> you don't have a lot of space to do your decision making. >> reporter: right. and you can come one a really bad decision if you feel compelled, because you're so close to the subject, you're going to have to do something. >> reporter: this shooting was investigated and deemed justifiable by prosecutors. now, the city of cleveland ended up paying the

in the end, though, the issue of additional training should be addressed by the police department and hopefully prevent another tragedy like this from happening again. now, as you know, tomorrow night is election night. but we're not done looking at high-profile shooting incidents. wednesday night at 11:00, we look at the case of an unarmed man in tulsa who was shot and killed by an officer. well, you've heard of the movie "snakes on a plane"; but for ss flight to mexico, it was all too real and all too scary. a video recorded by a passenger shows, yeah, incredibly, 5-foot-long green viper just slithering above the seats before suddenly, wait for it, dropping down and just dang ling. >> get me off the plane. >> no kidding. officials at aero mexico said the flight --

the airline is investigating how that snake got on to that plane. alerting you, protecting your family in time for 10 weather. >> items in the overhead bin may shift during flights. all right, guys. here we are, the eve of election, and we have some fantastic weather to talk about. voting tomorrow is not going to be an issue. kind of cool if you haven't been outside last couple hours. we're at 69 degrees. but we're going down to about 64. this morning we were 67. a couple degrees cooler than where you were. it is earlier out there. look at the sunset today from our sun trust financial building in downtown tampa. man, it was gorgeous. nice clouds out there. from time to time, obviously, making for some great color. we're going to expect more of the same tomorrow. the sun in the morning will be more prominent than in the afternoon. we'll just get a couple clouds, like yesterday. things have really cleared out now. plenty of stars out there for this evening.

forecast is for some cooler numbers. right now, we're at 69 in tampa, 58, though, in brooksville. we've already cooled down. 63 in lakeland, 66 in bradenton. the winds are going lighter. they were breezy at types today. they're getting calm now. put that together with some clear skies. we're going to cool off. going 64 in tampa and sarasota, 61 in lakeland, 68 in crystal river. some spots actually a little cooler than that. here's the forecast for tomorrow: lot of few clouds. yeah, no excuse weather wise at least not to get out and to vote. temperatures will be a lot like they were today, which means right around 82 degrees. we made 81 today officially. sun's up at 6:47, as i mentioned. down at 5:41. if you're voting after work or doing anything after work, the 2nd day of getting back to work, darkener the evenings. we talked about a cool front coming. that's wednesday afternoon and evening hours. it's a weak one, and our only hope for rain is some of this moisture out in the
