the results finally sinking in, we wanted to hear from some of the bay area's youngest voters -- students at the university of south florida. we placed a dry erase board in the center of campus and asked students to sound off using one word to describe their thoughts on the result. from positive to negative and some who just weren't sure we got lots of responses. words like "awesome" and "hurt" and our personal favorite, "gobsmacked," which one student defined as taking "astounded and bewildered, throw them in a blender on high and pour out." in just about an hour, every available inch of the dry erase board was filled up with one-word reactions to the election of donald trump. two big stories involving the way you get around town. we're talking about uber, lyft and cab companies. the rules of the road are changing. ridesharing companies can now legally operate in hillsborough county, after reaching a deal with the public transportation commission. but it also opens up competition. as 10 news reporter garin flowers explains you could see better fares and

marcus bonner is an uber driver. sot well, i think it's a good service. he prefers to wait at the airport nat...so after you land, he's ready pick you up. as of wednesday, he can do so without looking over his shoulder. the public transportation commission meeting halfway with ridesharing companies uber and lyft.approving a deal to make them legal. sot i'm glad they kept it going, it helps me financially because i'm on social security. that's good news for the drivth good news for you, the ptc also voted to open up the market and allow other competitors to offer ridesharing services. sot the more competition, the better the price, the better the service. ptc chairman victor crist negotiated the deal with uber and lyft, aimed at better safety for you. it requires an enhanced background check on drivers. they also have carry additional insurance and have their cars inspected each year. stand up: commissioner crist says this agreement is a big deal because our area could be the blueprint for the future of these companies. the new regulations might spark statewide legislation maybe even nationwide. sot why not have what bits and pieces they've agreed to here, there and everywhere in one tightly designed

christopher ligori who has successfully sued cab companies as the result of crashes says the ptc has dropped the ball on this issue. hillsborough commissioner ken hagan who sits on the ptc board admits until he saw our story he had no idea the agency didn;t restrict dirver hours. and he is concerned people riding in cabs and driving next to them could be at risk and injured in his crash

this next story is a little creepy, but it seems as though a rare bed-bug has remerged in florida after 60 years! this one is a tropical bed bug. it hasn't been seen since the 19- 30's and 40's, but now it is on the east coast in brevard county.
