shopping spree. and plant city, jonathan petramala, wtsp. deadly shooting at an airport in oklahoma city. will rogers airport is back up and running after an airline employee was killed. 52-year-old michael winchester was shot outside the main terminal. he works for southwest airlines. his son played for the kansas city chiefs. thousaof to shelter in place. the airport was shut down as officers searched for the gunman. they found that gunmen dead in a truck in a parking garage. investigators say he killed himself. they believe this was premeditated but they are not saying how they might have known each other. when you drink, drive and hurt someone or heaven forbid kill them, who is responsible? you? or the bar that served you the alcohol? that's what has people talking all over social media and in polk county one man's family thinks two bars are responsible for their loved one's death.

>> reporter: today we're focused on the soaring cost of drugs. americans susceptible to anaphylactic shock were somehow immune to sticker shock. but epipen is just the beginning. we worked with our partners to identify more than 100 other common drugs that have skyrocketed in price over the past four years. they include popular generics such as naproxen, doxycycline and campus others i pronounce. among those, generic steroid cream used by one of our viewers who contacted us after a 23 draw the -- his $23 prescription inched up a little bit in price. >> almost $130. and i said that can't be right. can you double check that? they said i checked again and that's what we charge. that's outrageous.

prices are for drugs, he toured the country as a roadie with some of the biggest bands of the 1970s. but now i 60, the biggest high he gets these days can be found on the bottom line of his presumption bill. >> where are we come to when our healthcare is based on can you afford to live? >> reporter: and that is frightening. regardless of your feelings on obamacare, most americans believe everyone should have access to affordable healthcare. that is not the case right now. we looked at the price of 356 prescription drugs. the average cost of those drugs has doubled in just the last fo one drug tetracycline, used to cost seven cents a pill in 2012. now $8.54 a pill. how steep is that? more than 12000%. that is going to be in a lot of

his medication anymore. soaring drug prices often without any justification have affected every americans ability to get the life-saving drugs they need. from insulin to epipen to cancer drugs. listen to the story from an oncologist in texas. >> last week i was talking to a patient who needs a drug that can offer her some significant benefit. but she was making real decisions about do i pay the light bill or get this medication? >> it's hard enough fighting cancer every day. should not be ma issues of over expensive drugs. >> which takes us back to our friend john munn. itchy scalp was not his only had scratcher. sorry if you don't like the jokes. blame the joke writer. he wanted to find out why the price of the generic drug in the exact same form since 1989 suddenly spiked. drug companies point to the cost of research and development. makes sense to incentivize innovation of life-saving drugs. but this is big pharma we're talking about.
