dinner table. first up though at 5:30, many of you woke up to a horrific headline that's almost too hard to believe. four officers shot in 24 hours in four different cities. now, two of those shootings investigators tell us, the officers were actually targeting, and it happened during one of the most dangerous times on an officer's patrol is when they are out making traffic stops. first up in san antonio. a detective writing out a traffic ticket shot to death in his squad morning outside of police headquarters. police say the officer's uniform may have been the target. in st. louis, a police sergeant is in the hospital after being shot twice in the face. that happened sunday night while sitting in traffic. police are calling that shooting an ambush. and that's just the beginning. another missouri officer was shot during a traffic stop last night. the officer is expected to survive that shooting. and one shooting that hits really close to home, an officer in sanibel shot in the

stop last night. we understand that he is out of the hospital tonight. now, many in the community are hurting, including law enforcement officers' families. 10news reporter shannon valladolid sat down with an officer's wife as she told her emotional story of what it's like to say good-bye to her husband, not sure if he's going to return. >> i am so sad for my sisters who are burying their husbands and the children. it's something that you never imagine will happen to you, but the truth is it could happen to any of us. and so having that support with one another is vital. >> reporter: your husband has been a police officer a little over a year. so you guys are still new to this. >> yeah. >> reporter: how do you feel coming in during a time when all these attacks are happening? >> it's hard and it's scary.

good-bye, you know, it's never known if he is going to come home in the morning. we have a child, a young son together. we are taking videos and pictures of them because i never know if that's going to be the last memory he is gonna get of his dad. it's hard. it's a calling. whether or not i want him to do it, it's not a choice. he is going to continue suiting up every day going out and protecting our community. we as a community need to rally behind them and say we're here, we support we need more support for the police right now. >> reporter: how can people see that support? >> saying hi. saying thank you for your service. offering a wave or a smile when an officer is on duty and you see them. >> reporter: all you guys really ask for is, if you see a police officer, say thank you or give them a hug. just something to brighten their day. that's all you, as wives, want? >> yes. i want my husband to come home saying, oh, it was great.

me today. i feel like i was supported or made a difference. >> now, we took her request to heart and we ask you, our viewers, to take a moment to honor our men and women in blue. >> thank you for everything you do. we couldn't do enough for you guys. >> thank you for keeping our neighborhoods safe. it would be a lot more of a dangerous place without you guys. you put your life on the line day in, day out, to keep everyone in the community safe. >> i would like to say you in the community for what you have done. >> i wouldn't to thank all the police officers for all the hard work they do, and just thank you for your service. >> your thank yous, they mean a lot to the men and women serving, making sure we are safe at night, because so many law enforcement officers are doing this not for the money, but for the service and protection of our community.

will be near 80 on friday and 70s over the weekend. but a beautiful sunset out there right now. a little bit of a northwesterly wind. you can see that in those small waves that are rolling in. it's fantastic out there. it's just on the cool side. we will continue to fall through the 60s into the 50s this evening. we have got 59 right now for crystal river. 58 new port richey and carrollwood. new tampa is on the cool side. mid-60s in polk county. falling to the upper 50s for temple terrace. 59 in odessa. 63 in st. pete. so nice and clear out there. we will stay that way overnight. that means another night of good radiational cooling. the heat from the day radiates back into space. we had some clouds that keep us a little bit warmer. the air mass has modified a little bit. so i think we are mid-to-upper 30s tomorrow morning. still a very chilly start for your tuesday morning. most areas in the mid-40s near 50 at the immediate coast. tomorrow starts the warm-up. we go up to 77 degrees.

time of year. mostly sunny skies. nice and dry. humidity relatively low, as well. we will see a little bit more humidity especially wednesday and into thursday. a couple extra clouds tomorrow afternoon. tomorrow night into wednesday we will see a couple clouds. i don't think we see any sprinkles. i would love to get them. thursday the same thing. partly cloudy skies. mostly sunny to partly cloudy in the afternoon. here is a look at the current dew points. 20s near 30 degrees. guys, that is a very low number for our moisture here. moisture content in the atmosphere. that will change. it's in the 40s by really wednesday morning. 40s to 50s to near 60 degrees. so even by thanksgiving you are going to feel a totally different air mass out there. there are your boating forecasts. really good. 5 to 10 knots. 1-2-foot seas and 70 degrees in the water. nice warm-up. 80 wednesday. 80 on thursday.

then you can see friday we have a little bit after weak front coming through. that earthquake and tsunami warning just southeast of fukushima, it's now gone down to a 6.9. they re-evaluated it. i wanted to give you an idea of how long it takes the tsunami to move out from there. i put this for eastern standard time. if it makes it to hawaii, it will be closures to 11:30, midnight tonight. 1 a.m. towards the pacific northwest. then during the day tomorrow, this is 7 a.m. ro south america. doesn't mean it will make it. we will watch it. there are some reports it's

difficult to have people stop before you even know what they are going to say. so many times if you say, we don't want to talk about any politics, a lot of times that brings it up. >> okay. >> so if you are going to mention it to somebody, say you have uncle george who always talks politics, pull him to the side and say, let's not talk about politics today. and then also make sure you set him away from uncle matt, because the two of them, you know, separate them. re strategy so you can look to see who is sitting next to who to avoid that? >> right. put the nice calm people next to the little rowdy political ones. >> reporter: and if they are eating and all of a sudden that conversation comes up, is there something you can do to put a halt to it? >> well, what we have to do is just keep everything positive and nobody's right or wrong this this whole thing. so, of course, i have my opinions. you have your opinions.
