the day he was born. he's been through a lot. went through a lot as a young boy. that's outside. his dad was diagnosed with cancer when brian was 12. his dad mike who spent 22 years in the air force told him -- that's on the inside corner. brian said all i knew about cancer was what i saw on tv and those shows never ended well. he lost his dad at the age of 17. he became mad, mad at the world and he uses the anger when he pitches. you don't see it any other time except when he's out there trying to end the game. two out. bases are empty with hamilton coming up.

how nervous were you if at all coming into this? >> player: i told myself all the time to relax and take a deep breath. control the breathing. it helps me to relax and stay calm and don't act like it's not a big deal. obviously, it is, it's the world series. but try to go out there and erelax. it's worked out. >> ken: how badly did you want to finish? >> player: i'd love to. we have the best closer in the game out there, so we're going to get him in there. >> ken: thank you. aubrey huff, that kid is 21 years old. how does he do it? >> player: we have impressive talent here. buster posey behind the dish and this kid on the mound. he's fearless. it doesn't seem like he is ever nervous. he went out on the field and doesn't act like he has much of a personality, but he does in a clubhouse. >> ken: you're from here and grew uprooting for the rangers. how much more meaningful for was it to hit that home run in this park?

four of the world series. he shocked the world. >> eric: he did. i can sit here and bore you with all kind of numbers, three singles, only one base runner at second base. but what he did tonight he kept them off-balance. he pitched a lot like cliff lee pitches in that when he was throwing strikes to both sides of the plate. anytime you face a guy like vladimir guerrero, a future hall-of-famer and have him take two swings and look like he was swinging under water, you know you've got good stuff. >> chris: ozzie, this isn't the first time you've seen bumgarner throw, right? >> ozzie: in 2008 i went to see my kid olney play and he was amazing. i don't see much difference. triple-a is not the same as the world series but this is unbelievable stuff. the defense behind him was great. they were all over the place and the left field played well early in the game. right behind him, the great defense. this kid from 2008 to 2010 is a big jump. i don't see much difference

between the two years. >> chris: that's what the giants do. they throw shut-out and play great defense and hit home runs. something else caught your eye, eric karros. >> eric: aubrey huff did the heavy lifting but the dirty work in the top two in the line-up. andres torres and freddy sanchez. 31 pitches in two at-bats. four at-bats, i should say. that's what tommy hunter had. and before aubrey huff hit the home run, tommy hunter threw to the guys and they fouled off ten pitches between them. hunter was exhausted and huff gets him. credit to the top two in the line-up. >> chris: you can tell the rangers fans are a little deflated but they still have one more chance, on the left shoulder of cliff lee. rematch of the guys that went at it in game one. lincecum won the decision. cliff lee didn't make it out of the fifth. now, ozzie, you have been in this situation. in 2005 you were up three games to nothing. down in houston. a chance to close it out. how tough is it to win that

final game? >> ozzie: wow! a dream come true. that night, i couldn't sleep. i was talking to my family all night long how we'd approach the game. a big game for us. it was the biggest game, number four, the biggest one you will get. believe me, you will win four, you get the ring and what you work for all year long. tomorrow is a big day for them. >> chris: let me get this straight. you were up all night talking to whomever you wanted to talk to? >> eric: shocker, he was talking all night long! >> ozzie: talking all night, talking to my family. taking aim somewhere along the more than 26-mile route. we're talking tonight about fears of an unknown shooter opening fire. it's already happened at four military buildings in the last couple weeks including the pentagon. thanks for staying up with us. i'm will thomas. >> and i'm maureen umeh. at today's marine corps marathon the worry did not dampen enthusiasm even though it drew attention to the sharpshooters on the roof. fox 5's tisha thompson was at the race where competition met with a new set of challenges. >> reporter: with 30,000 runners some of which were wearing their halloween costumes, the 35th marine corps marathon got off to a great start, but it did have a serious undertow because people were concerned about security. the race started off with a bang of a howlitzer. >> it's a big challenge to push your body 26 miles. >> reporter: as serious runners

and those wanting to really celebrate halloween ran side by side. >> like i say, big costume that you can do a marathon in is very difficult. so i kind of designed me own out of my own running gear and half mask is important because you can pull it up, you know, during the run. >> reporter: this is eric schading's 20th marathon and he said the costume actually helped. >> it was nice because you hear people saying yeah, go city con. >> reporter: yet despite the fun -- go skeleton. >> reporter: yet despite the fun this was a grim reminder of the security threat after shots were fired at four different military buildings in the last two weeks. >> the marines will take care of us. i'm not worried. >> reporter: but nearly everyone we ran into said they were more worried about finishing the race than any potential threat. >> i just am not going to let them take me down and take over

the bomb plot that put explosives on cargo planes heading for chicago. his name is ibrahim hassan al- asiri, the same man who packed the underwear bomber's clothing last christmas. the plot was barely foiled in time, forensic team preparing to head for yemen. >> we're not going to rest until we find the people responsible for this and to find whatever other devices might be out there. >> reporter: u.s. and yemeni officials tell fox they believe the same bombmaker was behind the package bombs in britain and dubai, the underwear bomb on christmas day and the explosives that severely injured the terrorism chief in the summer of 2009. >> there were very strong similarities of those three events that suggest to me that they are the work of an individual or individuals who are responsible for all three of those devices.

>> reporter: the presumed bombmaker ibrahim hassan al- asiri is a saudi citizen on the kingdom's most wanted list believed to be hiding in yemen working with al qaeda affiliates whose operational planner is anwar al-awlaki. this mugshot is from when he was arrested soliciting prostitutes. there were vigils held outside the home. the suspect was later released on bail after the shipping person said she did not sign the shipping documents. one device appeared to include a cell phone detonator and the other appeared to contain a timing device. the explosive petn was present, the same explosive used in the christmas day device worn by the 23-year-old nigerian. >> the quality and the power of the explosive that was found in england is more powerful, far

more powerful, than the one that abdulmutallab had on christmas day. >> reporter: yemeni government say all eyes are focused on the bombmaker. soon u.s. forensic teams are expected to be in the yemeni capital. today senior white house officials praised the yemeni government for its help in the investigation. new tonight police are trying to figure out the name of the man who died just trying to cross the street. it happened about midnight saturday along arlington boulevard near graham road in fairfax county. the driver is 24 years old from falls church. his name has not been released. that's because he hasn't been charged with anything as of yet. investigators say it doesn't appear that alcohol or speed caused the accident. they say the driver just didn't see the victim in the road. an american university shuttle bus is out of commission after it slammed into a telephone policy. the driver went to the hospital. no students were on board at the time.

the bus hit the pole on nebraska avenue near ward circle in northwest right up the street from au. it normally takes students and staff from campus to the tinley town metro stations. homeless on halloween, a fire destroyed several apartments in an alexandria high rise on south widening street. it started on the 11th floor late last night. it's not clear what started it or how much damage there is. no one was seriously hurt, although some people needed help to escape the flames and smoke. virginia once again a battleground this election season and in one particular district, the 11th district, democrat gerry connolly and republican keith simeon are duking it out into what's turned into a very negative campaign. fox 5's karen gray houston has the last jab from the trail. >> you're dead wrong. i'm going there to shake things up to bring fiscal sanity back to our country. >> reporter: republican challenger keith simeon brought out the state's heavy hitters at a get out the vote rally in
