says he is 100% pro life, he had to walk that back there have been a lot of occasions wherecain got himself in trouble this is some think you don't want to see if you are one of his supporters, had this polar rising ad last week but then his campaign manager smoking at the end of it, he had to defend why he had someone smoking in an ad, for mccain, there is a question can he take this momentum he built up and turn it into a professional organization and we haven't yet seen, you know, sort of the professionalization of the campaign and the candidate become more disciplined, to really be able to stick it out. we have seen already, republican candidates whether it be michelle bachmann or rick perry take off like rocket ships and crash down to earth. cain is in danger of doing that

as well. >> his numbers looking pretty good, could that sort of unconventional way of doing things be attractive to some people, who feel like same old same old in washington. >> absolutely romney couldn't have a great lead. you know, he sort of looked like a flip flopper, ohio labor issue, i think romney sort of you know, every -- there is a part of the republican electorate that wants someone other than romney they go from one candidate to the next this week it is cain last week it was cain there will be three big presidential debates next week, going to be another opportunity for candidates to get back in the race you will see a lot more fastness emerge in this race. >> let's talk about that, three debates right around the corner, seems like this group has had to do a lot of talking is it just me or are there more

debates this time around. >> almost like american idol, right, every other day there is another debate, and it is a great reality show they are -- they are not just talking economic policy they are rick perry is attacking mitt romney for not having fired a firm that hired illegal immigrants, it is really nasty stuff, and when it is that nasty this early, you know, just seems like it will stay nasty, you know, whether it be, allegations of sexual harassment or all these other things that could come into it, you know, it could be good tv all the networks are more than happy to accommodate these debates have gotten really good ratings people are interested that makes it a volatile mix as long as people are paying attention and you can you know score a knock out punch in one of these debates, you've seen that already with rick perry

when he said, people who don't think children of illegal immigrants should get in state tuition don't have a heart, well, that was he was saying, something like 70 or 80% of the the primary electorate don't have a heart, you can't say that he has had a tough time walking back from that but he is trying he is going on interviews, he is attacking mitt romney and saying i have been a principle conservative haven't changed my position on abortion which mitt romney has and haven't changed my opinion on other issues. >> men time barack obama continues to sign executive orders getting things through without stamp of approval from congress is this a smart move as the republicans fight it out to figure out who is their front runner signing away getting things done he said because the american people cannot wait for the jobs bill to be passed what do you think? >> bill clinton did something

southbound 270, remains of the accident activity off the road to the shoulder again lanes are open big delays out of german town that is a check of your fox 5 on time traffic. big changes coming to the 11th largest school system in the country at least half of the fairfax county school board members stepping down end of the next school year. the superintendent will be retiring as well. bob mccart any, metro columnist. i am trying to dress appropriately. >> very much in the spirit hopefully not too much scary stuff happening you are on top of this. >> very interesting, a lot of change in the school system the biggest school system in our area of course and one of the top school systems in the nation especially in terms of achievement in the large district i think there is a lot of changing coming the school board election is one of the most interesting ones november 8th, and a lot of the people who are running for school board are they want to change things they are running

against the status quo, and i think there is a very good chance that a large minority or even a majority of the 12 member school board is basically going to have been elected after saying they want to shake things up. before we get into the reason for that shake pup, we are talking about a superintendent in place for some time. >> he is leaving in 2013. >> but this board, whom ever makes up this board will essentially be selecting the next superintendent. >> yes. >> it is a big duty. >> right they are picking the next superintendent to pick jack dale and they will also over see the new superintendent people running, the insurgents, rebels, reformers assuming they win they want to be much more involved and much more guiding of the superintendent and bureaucracy than the previous

board, criticized rightly or wrongly as a rubber stamp. i think you will be seeing a lot more -- assuming they win you will see a lot more responsiveness or a lot more effort to make the superintendent and the administration, more responsive to the public, especially on issues like discipline and school hours, and i think you will also see a big push to reduce class size, especially, in some of the more affluent neighbourhoods because there is defruitly a backlash of -- definitely a bash lack of the well to do. well, i think there are overlapping reasons for it, one is there were these movements, parent movements, to try to get the board, -- excuse me the board and bureaucracy to be more responsive on discipline, grading, school hours whenever parents tried to put pressure on the administration they felt

like they were just given the back of the hand they were not listened to, their input was not valued i think a lot of people of olid logical stripes, were basically -- ideological stripes were basically pushing that way and not happy at the response or lack of responsiveness, there is also a backlash among as i said the well to do affluent neighbourhoods, you know the formulas they have, for assigning resources, tend to favour, the neediest schools, and so, in a time of tight budgets class sizes and more well to do, affluent neighbourhoods have shot up and a lot of people are angry and want more of the budget to come back to those better off schools there is a bit of a backlash there is a subtle pro republican tendency in this election. >> what do you see happening as far as elections you see this playing out this way, we are talking about here and if so, over the next year or so how would you see things changing.

>> if you look -- considering there were three people on the board to begin with, sort of critical of the establishment, they only need to pick up you know, three more seats to have half and four more seats to have a majority, i think there is a pretty good chance they will do that, or at least have such a big minority on the board that there will be changes, i think there is a lot of pressure to be more responsive, i think there will be pressure to deal with the class size issue everybody is talking about that now and there is an interesting issue because both teachers associations in fairfax, one of which is usually republican and one of which is usually democratic, they have come out in favour of the insurgents because teachers are very upset about the work load there is a really rising work load as teachers are sort of pressed, to raise performance on standardized tests and so they have basically aligned with the -- it is mentioned technically
