end of an era for visitors to the district the tour mobile is shutting down. >> for 42 years it has been a favorite among tourists from around the country and around the world. we get more now from maureen in southwest this morning i am sorry to see it go maureen. >> reporter: i know you are tony because you mentioned earlier you worked for tour mobile when you were a spry young lad did you. >> yes, i did for three years.

>> reporter: yeah,. >> i was a tour guide. >> reporter: yeah, really the people who work here call it a family a lot of them are devastated to see this closing down but national park service announcing today would be the last day for operations iconic blue and white tour mobile, one employee told me it caught them off guard. let's show video of the tour mobile what it has been doing, offering riders with a live tour of dc, historical and interesting facts about monuments and memorials along the way. financial problems are said to be to blame but one employee i spoke to said she isn't so sure she said employees were told, the park service was not renewing the company's contract she said that contract expires december 31st, so this october 31st ending is quite a surprise, she says employees like her, she has been with the
