locked average speed, 20 miles per hour. that is a check of your fox 5 on time traffic. our top story at 7 begins with the search for a gunman who opened fire at a shopping plaza prince georges county killing one person. it happened just after 8:00 p.m. last night, in forestville. police say 27-year-old anthony washington died at the scene a woman who was with washington was shot in the arm she will survive. investigators are looking at surveillance video from several stores in the plaza. police play have nabbed the man involved in the shooting of a teenager in georgetown halloween night the 17-year-old remains hospitalized in grave condition this morning. dc police say one man was arrested for carrying a gun without a license however, they are not naming him a suspect. there were five other shootings in dc monday night all but one of the victims were teens.

jurors in the lululemon murder case heard from the prosecution's last witness, the detective played interviews he recorded with norwood before placed under arrest she requested an interview days later and claimed two killers made her move the victim's car detectives were trying to explain how they found norwood's blood in murray's car. republican presidential candidate, herman cain coming to tyson's corner this morning but he is still dogged bisexual harassment charges from the 90s. one of the accusers wants to go public and is meeting with her lawyer. stacy cohen is live with more on the cain controversy. >> reporter: herman cain is coming to the washington area because he wants to talk about politics but he is haunted by

this from his past sexual harassment case dating back to the 90s. cain has been the front runner in all the polls for the republican presidential nominee but has been taking questions about this story ever since it broke. the woman at the center of this worked with cain at the national restaurant association she filed a sexual harassment case there was a five figure pay out herman cain has been accused of going back and forth in his version of events at first saying there was no settlement and then admitting yes, there was one. the way i explained that contradiction when i first heard the word settlement, i thought legal settlement, and my recollection later was that there was an agreement so i made an assumption about the word settlement it was legal and i didn't think there was a legal settlement but an agreement remember this happened 12 years ago all day

fate of that resolution just fell apart. >> implications for greece and europe, of a no vote in a referendum are severe. >> for the country, the instability will continue and that is the main feature now and the prime minister contributes to this. >> if the european rescue plans falls through and greece defaults on debt the ripple effect would be global europe could fall into a recession, hurting a major market for american export and banks could severely restrict lending. >> not only would greece before and the euro fall, they will collapse as well this will throw the market into chaos. the referendum will be the country's first since 1974, and is expected to be held early next year some political analysts suggest the prime minister's decision to hold a national vote on the debt plan could topple the greek government.

deficit by $570 billion they said the average millionaire would get a $512,000 break on this. the folks that would be hurt are the 50,000 below folks the 999 plan for cain is not so different from romney, what is it about these guys they are sticking it to the middle class the middle class is hurting these plans really make it difficult for the middle class it is more tax cuts for the wealthy, i hate to be an unbroken record but it is not me it is cbs news, center for taxes. >> one thing about the perry plan it is optional you have a choice it is simple you have a choice you want the current plan. >> if you are a millionaire you are going to take that. >> of course doesn't putting more money in the economy create jobs. >> listen if it goes on for small business tax cuts, go to that but if it goes to someone's investment portfolio.

put together a long term plan last wednesday which resulted in a huge stock market rally thursday last week that plan has three parts one is to have greece make additional efforts to get their physical house in order another is to protect the banks across europe, by increasing capitol and a third is actually, to beef up what is called the european financial stability fund, which is intended to provide billions and billions of euros to protect countries like italy. last question here how does this effect us either way. >> well, it has potentially very significant effect, if things come apart and there is a real chance that could happen at this point alison, if things come apart, it would -- euro zone economy would go under recession, effect our ex%es to europe, chain -- exports to europe, change the value of the dollar, the dollar would go up

timeline council brown has given to the committee to complete the task, nine weeks, nine weeks to come up with effective, enforceable legislation including penalties for ethical violations ten bills are in front of miss bowsers committee they address term limits, outside employment, to name just a few in adegrees to the ten bills, is a plethora of proposals offered by the 30 or so people who testified at the hearing. there is much work to be done, given the huge task before us, every member of the committee needs to be on hand to hear the testimony, harry thomas junior was absent what was more important to councilman thomas than ethics reform, we really don't know, a staff member from harry thomas' office would only tell fox 5 that councilman had several things on his schedule that kept him from attending this was a hearing that went on for 8 hours mind you, councilman thomas must have had a very busy day not to have

attended even a portion of the hearing. i certainly recognize the irony here after all councilman thomas is currently under investigation by the u.s. attorneys office regarding allegations, that he diverted over $300,000 from a fund that was to support youth program. funds that he is currently repaying to the city. but like it or not he is on the committee, if councilman thomas doesn't feel he can conduct the city's business regarding ethics reform he should step down from the committee. a wise man told me once that some times, half the job is just showing up, if councilman thomas wants to take part in this process and show voters in his ward and the rest of dc he is serious about ethics reform he needs to first show up. that is my take. what is yours? go to myfoxdc.com click on that is my take or send me an e-mail at tmt@wttg.com

imagine spending a semester of school at sea well, a group of local college students don't have to imagine it, 250 students from st. mary's college have finally been able to move into their temporary living space. this happens to be aboard a cruise ship docked near campus

students were relocated due to mold problems in their dorms joining us now to talk about this unique experience is senior, andy van dusen. >> good morning. >> how was it being aboard that ship instead of your dorm room on land. >> a little bit different but very cool, move in went pretty smoothly yesterday took a little bit longer to get started than we expected but we got 140 or so people of the 250 moved in, they will do move ins rest of the week. everyone's stuff is onboard so far. >> what is the space like? how does it compare to your dorm room? >> it is much more elegant for sure, looking around the ship, there is lounge spaces which are really neat social areas, and spaces set aside for studying which is fantastic, rooms are a little smaller, but

there is enough space to sleep and be yourself and that is all i need at least. >> how long did they tell you you would be there. >> right now we are planning on being there for the rest of the semester, depends how long remediation takes in the residence halls, we are expecting to be there through finals if remediation is done like just before finals or during finals they are not going to make us move during finals that would be too stressful for everyone but they plan to get us moved back before we leave for winter break. >> you are a senior this is fun but you need to get your work done too right? >> yeah, i find ways to work around it, and it is much closer to campus than the hotels where we were the past week and a half so i am very happy to be back on campus. >> well, we are happy you took time out to talk to us today, good luck in your senior year
