nothing going on. high pressure moving through that will deliver not only a nice day today but beautiful afternoons, sunshine cool nights right through the weekend, there is another look at another map i don't know what that map is, but nice looking. sunshine mild afternoon 62 your daytime high, winds out of the south, 5 to 10. a look at the 5 day, coming up tony back to you. all right tucker thank you. the jury in the lululemon murder trial gets its first look at video tape of brittany norwood interviewed by police 5 days after the killing of her coworker,. she was not in police custody at the time some detectives were at that time growing suspicious of her story of two male intruders, entering the store roughing up norwood killing murray. paul joins us from the courthouse in rockville with more on what happened yesterday.
9:02 am
paul good morning. >> reporter: good morning alison and tony. what was shown to the jury was video tape of brittany norwood talking with two detectives the two lead detectives in the case and she came to police headquarters because they told her they wanted hair samples and fingerprints from her she was driven there by her father, brother and sister but she was alone in the room with these two detectives she didn't know she was being recorded and what you saw and what the jury saw was some evidence technicians coming in taking photographs, hair samples and taking fingerprints then the detective sat down and started to ask her to go through everything that happened this detective, well known forgetting a lot out of suspects, very calmly talked her through everything he never raised any eyebrows about what she said he just sat there and calmly listened to what she had to say the key question was did you ever socialize with murray and did you ever go in her car did you ever get in her car and
9:03 am
brittany norwood said no, and the detectives were very suspicious at that point they already found her car and knew there was blood inside the car and couldn't explain that and later in the testimony, in the afternoon, we hear that brittany norwood's brother called police that very next day and said brittany wants to come back and talk to you some more she comes back with this incredible story she went out and moved the car because the two assailants asked her two she moved it up to the street and bloodied walked back through bethesda, into lululemon the police are incredulous at that point. >> understandably so because the story was rather fantastic at that point. if you know all this talk about whether or not it was premeditated or not, even let's say it wasn't, is hearing this or seeing this video and hearing her you know allegedly make up what happened and
9:04 am
coming back and changing the story, is that likely to influence the jury significantly? >> well, john mccarthy is trying to lay out that, murray was lured back to the store by norwood because brittany was upset she was accused of stealing merchandise. and p mccarthy is trying to lay out a story she had actually taken all these weapons and put them in a certain location lured her to the back of the store and pummeled her and slaughtered her and the question here is, the difference between premedication and second degree murder was this a crime of passion or premeditated every lawyer we talked to tony and alison said premeditation can be like that you don't need an hour you don't need a minute it can be just in seconds you can have premeditation to kill someone and the jury will have to decide that, and that will be very interesting here because the difference is many many years in prison, second degree, she could get as little
9:05 am
as 15 but life without parole is she will likely die in prison. >> what do we expect today there is word prosecution could wrap today. >> what is really going to be interesting alison, is we will hear from the medical examiner, that will be very very tough testimony and i feel for the family, and having to sit through that, however, next question is, what is defense going to be are we going to see a defense because they have already admitted she killed her, so, that is the bigamistry here, what are we going to see from the defense and it is very possible that we could get the closing arguments by the end of the day today. >> all right well, i know you will let us know about it paul wagner outside the courthouse in rockville. thank you we appreciate your input. >> stay with fox 5 for complete coverage of the trial paul will provide constant updates on air and online via twitter we have a link to his account on our home page myfoxdc.com in the
