75,000 washingtonians will be flying away, and over 1 million overall travelers and 92% of them will be on the road so whether you are going roads, rail, or air, it is going to be a very very busy time and that is good we are projecting travel up 4% and that is in spite of higher gas prices and higher airline ticket prices so, even though things are more expensive we have more travelers and that is saying something good about the economy. >> having said that you have to advice people if you are used to an easier ride past couple years prepare yourself for things to be a bit busier. >> a bit busier would be an under statement the fact we have 92% of travelers on the roads and half of the day today, is going to be wet means it will be an extra challenge we have to remember too today is a tough day to get around town because you not only have the car travelers trying to get

an up or down vote in both houses to really, you know, do something about the deficit, and the parties couldn't agree, you know i think the hardest thing about this alison, is that the by in large the republicans find themselves in an ideological straight jacket because they are kowtowing to gilbert norqwest and signing a silly tax pledge and it will get them into trouble democrats put on the table ideas for social security and medicare reform, there was talk about another $400 billion in cuts on that and i think they could have had a grand bargain but it was too hard for republicans. >> in a recent blog you say never before have i seen such a strong sense of party lock in congress. >> right. >> tough times i think now, i don't think anybody has gotten a bert education in congress than the american people in the

even tougher for example, yesterday he was up in manchester new hampshire he said to the republicans you signed this no tax pledge we have given the average american $900 this last year with the social security tax rebate and you know, are you going to do away with it, raise taxes on the middle class at the same time you are telling us millionairebillionaires are paying too much? that was one of the problems with this deal that was coming from the republicans this last couple weeks, they want to take the bush tax cuts make them for the wealthiest and lower them more they tyke it from 39 to 35 and want to lower it to 28. obama says there are choices you have to make here either you give the biggest tax break to the wealthiest of americans or say we ought to extend tax

mirimax is what it is i guess but when movies first started, you had -- when it first started everybody wanted sound, color, wide screen, and depth we got the first three and have been trying like mad for years, way back in the teens and 20s. lamear brothers had films in 3d just restored, people have been trying it, it is technology and what it costs and what it costs to show and exhibit, goes back and forth and back and forth. color finally settled in, but it was inner taken seriously, never until -- never taken seriously, never until 1935, then only for musicals, westerns, comedies, 1970 every picture was made in color it was a real problem to get raging bull made in black and white by 79 only a few pictures in the 70s in black and white they were all hit, lean knee,

paper moon, last picture show. those worked out. let us do it in black and white. but in any event, why not then think further and it isn't as if you are doing something -- you are trying to recreate you are telling a sisterry and recreating -- story and recreating life in a way whatever the aspect is, whether you are takovsky or jim cameron you are telling a story and want them enveloped, immersed in that story not everybody will agree as to how immersed but imagine, if darkovsky used 3d or sukarov in russia. the cave what he did in the caves, so there are ways to use

3d that is not -- to make it natural, because it is part of our world for the most part most people see, depth, why exclude it from the narrative vocabulary. you know, the big problem is, ultimately making it economical for contributors and exhibitors to project the pictures and all kinds of details there, that are problematic in terms of not wanting to blow up their bulbs they can make them darker you have to have light on the screen. >> the glass makes the image darker. >> yeah, but that is why you need more light in the projector bulb, if everybody can work together we might be able to work it out so they can afford new bulbs and don't charge the audience for it and make new pictures using depth as a natural element and of course, development to flexible equipment which is already there much more than what we had, and possibly, well, being
