7:21 am
row. >> not true to the rumour the offensive coordinator was fired 30 seconds after that clip. >> we all know with certain athletes they will get their way. >> after the game brady gets up there they ask him he goes well, you know i should get yelled at you know kind of sheepish grin i should get yelled at when i throw an interception. >> when you win it is competitive when you lose it is selfish that is the difference yesterday it was competitive. >> what i love about that the most is the fact the red skins got him rattled enough to go off how many times you see tom brady rattled. >> never before. >> he was worried they were going to lose the game. >> yeah, and they are 10 and 3. >> good for him to get fired up. >> you get fired up tom brady >> i am going to get some uggs. >> next week. >> does alison like the uggs? >> on her i don't know about

time in washington doug luzader fox news. occupy dc protestors have been at mcfehr son square and freedom plaza for several months now are they getting their message across or wearing out their welcome do they plan to spend christmas here and the rest of the cold winter. robert mccartney metro columnist with the washington post. good to see you. >> hey, alison. having written about this, extensively in your sunday article let me ask you what is your overall impression. >> well, i think the protestors have certainly gotten a lot of attention and i think they have -- they not only here in washington but around the country have helped raise attention and interest in the issue of income and equality i think they have established this idea pretty clearly in the public's mind that this is the 99% versus the 1% to some extent that is something that has a lot of appeal. they have had some success
7:38 am
there but they have certainly worn out their welcome in a lot of places, in other cities actually more than washington they seem to be more tolerated here by the authorities certainly than they are in other cities but there are signs it is getting tenser here. i will say they have done a good job getting that message out each and everyone of us is familiar with that 1% versus 99% my question to you what is the end game here will it be a bill of rights for the 99%s what is the end game. >> two end games in terms of do they have a specific set of proposals, to help the 99% or reduce the influence of the 1%, no. the occupy protestors at mcfehr son square issued a list of complaints it took them a month to come up with it they have these general assemblies they did come up with a list of complaints it was short, light on specific proposals for what
7:39 am
to do. the ones at freedom plaza, pennsylvania avenue, by the white house they have got a much more specific and detailed set of proposals you know, with details about what to do about tax policy and income distribution and things like that. but there is no sort of you know, single cockment or single deck -- document or single declaration that sums this up it is still broad, fuzzy of course some of the union groups that are sympathetic to their goals want to basically re- elect barack obama and elect democrats to the congress, the occupy protestors differ on that most of them are skeptical of traditional electoral politics some do want to help get democrats elected. >> you are writing about it we report on it but who is listening? >> i think a lot of people are listening. >> you can make change? make something really happen?
7:40 am
wall street reacting? congress reacting? >> well, i think the white house reacted to some extent the president's speech last week in kansas where he emphasized pop list themes and need to reduce income and equality i think that was a result in part as the increased attention to this issue, that has been raised by the occupy protestors i think the occupy protest has sort of nudged the political discourse a bit to the left much as the tea party up rising, if you will, nudged it to the right, a couple years ago. and it sort of changed the discourse a little bit. i think there is a lot of people who are tired out of them, camping out in public places, especially the businesses nearby the business community is increasingly unhappy especially about the ones in mcfehr son square i think there is concerns about law breaking to the extent they
7:41 am
are not orderly civil disobedience actions but blocking traffic throwing things in the street that sort of thing there is concern about that but on the left at least among the unions, among groups that advocate for liberal change they are very excited by this energy and enthusiasm and publicity, frankly, publicity generated by these groups and want to capitalize them. >> i was going to ask about the civil disobedience we have seen an up tick in arrest and that goes a long way getting attention. it cuts both ways last week we saw by far, the highest number of arrests in washington, that we've seen more than 100 arrests, mostly -- almost all of them were from the mcpherson square, the dc based protestors were from
7:42 am
mcpherson square which is more confrontational than those at freedom plaza. some were planned arrests, typical of the civil rights movement, martin luther king but a lot of them, most of them were people who just really wanted to have a confrontation with police and they threw things in the street, newspaper boxes and trash cans in the street to block traffic they also refused to let the park police take down a wooden structure that they were trying to erect in mcpherson square basically, the policy of the authorities is you can have tents but can't build anything wooden. >> all right. well, read more about this, in bob's article in the washington post. which ran yesterday. >> which ran on sunday thanks bob. >> good to be here. 7:42 a.m., up next a look at other top stories including a new report about the future health of some of the tiniest

8:23 am
up to $26,000 to your children, to an unlimited number of people, if it is your grandchildren et cetera, without any gift or estate tax consequences the gift and estate tax currently have a $5 million exception and that is going to exspire after 2t to lo position, make sure you do gifting you could gift on december 31st again on january 1 if you wanted to, but if you don't get your gifts in before december p 1st you lose -- december 31st you lose that pension this year. bill smith with c business mhm thank you for the advice. thank you. tony thank you very much 8:23 a.m. on this monday morning up next dave ross back with us to play monday morning quarterback after yet another devastating loss at feddics field yesterday. pick us up. good morning steve christmas is less than two weeks away make sure when you
