mcher son square location, re-- mcpherson square location, shows an encampment despite warnings by park police they will be evicted or arrested the process is complicated, tents may remain in place but free of any gear that would allow folks to sleep here overnight that is the no camping rule yesterday folks did roll up sleeping bags put away somethings but walking through this morning i spoke to many folks who said they were up all night several people did believe and abide by the no camping regulation however one young man told me he was frustrated he sees this as a larger issue of the right to sleep. there is a no reason homeless people across the country, and not even enough jobs to go around, human beings any where, protesting or not, should be disturbed in a public park which is a public space

for the people for sleeping. >> i think a lot of people are aware of the new laws and so they are being cautious not to sleep in their tents but they are definitely, out spoken in the fact that, that is sort of a messed up policy they don't like it but are abiding by it as far as i can tell. >> as a symbol, to their objection over this new policy you can see that large tent of dreams that has been draped over the statue of general james mcpherson you can see him poking out of the top of the tent that was erected yesterday. park police have walked through but made no arrests just cursory inspections at this point we are in a holding pattern to see if or when park police decide to enforce these regulations they in fact will not give us any firm time as to when evictions may start but say they have already done some inspections of the work here at the occupy encampment in mcpherson square and apparently

the all about the benefits wisdom martin is here to break it down whichever >> on average a federal worker earns 2% more than someone doing similar work in private sector but when you add in the government's generous pension and health benefits, federal workers make 16% more than private sector counter parts it also varies by what kind of job we areking about and education you have. let's look now new research from the congressional budget office shows federal workers with a high school diploma or less education earn $4 more an hour than private sector employees in similar jobs. now to the people with college degrees. government and private workers made about the same per hour, but when benefits were added in, compensation for federal workers went up $7 an hour, on average. now this is not the case for highly qualified workers with advanced degrees such as doctors and engineers those federal workers made 23% less

park police are quietly enforcing a no camping rule where occupy protestors have been demonstrating for months. >> what is next for that movement stacey cohan with us once again joined by anthony who has been a protestor since last fall. >> hi well, park police have wandered through this encampment and the one at freedom plaza there has been some movement but many occupiers that have remained in place. an though think is one of them you are over at the freedom plaza occupy camp tell me what is happening there. >> a lot of our people have been up holding a vigil in our community camp last night in preparations for the park police to show up some time overnight hours. they never showed up. you said you slept there last night. >> yes we have a community tent i slept in the community tent. some people have left what are your thoughts on this no camping rule and need to leave at this point at least to

abandon the sleeping in the park portion of the protest. >> i believe we have a 24 hour vigil if you happen to fall asleep during the vigil i am not going any where that is why i am still here. i do think that if you are not prepared for the winter you are going to freeze. i think that is what the park services are trying to enforce the cold weather is here they don't want to see anybody end up in the hospital or dead. >> so are the park police your enemy in this? >> no, they are actually helping us in this they are coming through every so many hours making sure people are awake, making sure people aren't freezing, and they have been doing that for some weeks now. so what about the desire then to disobey these rules knowing that at some point it is incumbent upon law enforcement to enforce them at some point is it okay to say we will continue our protest but abide by the rules and no longer sleep here >> i am an occupier i always will be one from when i first

came in very early october until this movement ends with a permit without a permit, park police, state police, our encampment isn't going any where by force or by choice. but when does it end? what ends it? what is the end game? >> the end game is having our country no longer in distress. >> that is a fairly open ended argument you must admit that could mean indefinitely do you see why some people, businesses, parks may say that is not okay to stay here indefinitely? >> some people do say that, indefinitely but we have a very large number of supporters who want us to be here as long as it takes, if it wasn't for those supporters standing behind us, we wouldn't be here today. >> there have been clashes around the country, a handful here but for the most part it has been relatively peaceful if the police come in and say you must leave you must remove your

they didn't eat the stale popcorn they said okay we are going to put you back in the movie theatre and ask you to eat instead of eating with your right hand, if you are right hand dominant eat with your left hand they found that also broke the habit and i thought that was very pertinent with super bowl sunday coming up a lot of people sit in front of that tv screen and eat and eat you can down a bag of chips in minutes. >> did they say why the left hand, if you are right handed was any different? >> well, what they believe is that we have automatic tracks in our brain causes habitual eating, so if you just change up a little bit you break the habit, and you become less automatic and more intentional, when you are intentional you are processing that information and more aware of what you are doing. so look if people are trying to lose this weight and they need advice, some direction to go in, what can you say to them to get them started kind of get the ball rolling. well, there is a lot of easy tips they can do we all

know about this but water, no calories great for you if you drink water it will fill you up, drink that often. the other thing too, try smaller plates, easy thing, easy change to do just get away from those big giant dinner plates try salad plates instead and then chew your food well, thing about what you are eating don't go into that automatic mode because those automatic modes you can down a lot of calories in a short period of time >> i am hearing about new research in regards to fight against alzheimers what do you know about that. >> yes, this is coming out of uc san diego they have taken skin cells, they have reprogrammed the stem cells and grown out alzheimers brain cells, they took three patients that had different types of alzheimers and now they can watch what the cells are doing, they are hoping that will lead them to maybe the fight against it trying to prevent it from forming in the first place, developing new drugs and

of situation if there is ever a concern we go out and try to address. >> when you say any animal we are talking more than dogs and cats. >> i have had calls for dogs, cats, snakes, birds and one instance a fish which lead to a big big rescue operation. >> what is that all about. >> so basically someone, in meridian hill park on 16th street trying to beautify the park dumped a bunch of fish in one of the big pools you foe trying to make it -- you know trying to make it look nice all the fish spawned to well over a thousand fish, just regular goldfish and, you know the park service didn't really have a plan for them because they normally just drain the pool and the fish would just get sucked down the drain the community talked to us what i thought was going to be a one to two day operation ballooned into this big operation >> big production. >> but great to do we had everyone in humane society help out people in the community, and got a lot of great help putting all this together from
