that kind of cool you know. and but you know, to be that cool, when i would go to los angeles i hung out with don a couple times and you know, i viewed him as a major star you know, he was the conductor of soul train, how big was that but still so cool, to hang out with a pion like me it left an indelible mark on me, how to carry yourself. to do it with class and i am just devastated by this news this morning. you know, you would never know what is going on in someone's life if it is true he indeed took his life, it is shocking, especially at -- well, at any age but you know at 75 years old,. >> it is. >> with all the success he had is shocking. >> it is shocking i never had the good fortune to meet him obviously he was a role model and a trailblazer and we are

looking at footage from soul train now and i was the perfect audience for the show the right age in the 70s to watch this show it was the only place where you saw the acts that you saw, barry white the ojs ohio players, where you could see all these folks on tv at the time now of course you can see anybody any where but this was the only place to see it and like you say, he was an innovators really started something new, and gave an opportunity to many many people, at a time when there weren't that many opportunities out there. of course you followed along at bet with video soul and expanded that audience as well this will be a big loss to a lot of people. >> no question you said it so well i remember as a kid running home because we knew the temptations were going to be on mike douglas that day you know, because we had such few appearances, black performers on television, so when don cornelius came around you could

see him every saturday morning that was amazing to us and so, yeah, you know, i was fortunate enough to be able to further that with video soul, i mean it was a different thing it wasn't performance oriented, at least in the beginning, it was more interview based experience so you know it was different and but you know i do want to say this tony and well, you said you watched it but you didn't watch enough i have seen you dance. [ laughter ] >> i am going to try -- i will definitely be watching more donny we have to cut it there i want to tell you i hear every day from people they miss you on the radio. >> thank you very much for that rest in peace brother don. >> don cornelius, dead at the age of 75. >> meanwhile the beautiful weather. >> wea
