7:33 am
for the 50s. today will as well we've got a quick moving storm wednesday it will get in and out of here in about 12 hours time, but, potential is there for enough light snow and or rain to cause maybe a few travel difficulties tomorrow afternoon particularly north and west of the city where the emphasis will be as temperatures will be colder there and looks like an all snow event roughly north and west of washington that is the part of the viewing area we got to lookout for tomorrow 43 washington, 41 leonard town, gaithersburg holding on to the freezing temperatures, 30 for you, 25 manassas. temperatures bouncing all over the place. 41 dulles, all this should be back low to mid-50s. get out of your way high pressure across the mid- atlantic it will be a nice afternoon for us out to the west this is our next area of storminess the clouds will start to move in here later tonight, when you get up tomorrow morning it will be a cloudy day we should be fine
7:34 am
for the morning commute and by late morning early afternoon we will start to get some of this wintery precipitation in here and again, we are not exactly sure where that rain snow line will set up but the thinking is north and west of washington we could see light accumulations south and east it will be mostly a rain event for you timing is late tomorrow morning into the evening commute tomorrow afternoon it will all be out of here tomorrow evening. sunshine, no problems with your forecast, 53, winds out of the north and west, 5 to 10. we have taken the high temperature down tomorrow, 38 will be the daytime high, again we should be above freezing we are not terribly concerned with a whole lot sticking on the roadways as i mentioned we haven't had a lot of winter weather we got to lookout for that that is weather let's do traffic julie what's up. >> we have a lot of folks sitting on bumper to bumper traffic hitting me up on twitter, talking about 95 hardly moving, headed out to

this accident scene where we find this crew in sky fox northbound 395, duke street there has been a change now some traffic is able to get by using the two left lanes four different roll backs called to the scene of this crash multivehicle accident now the two left lanes are able to get by coming northbound expect that slow going traffic to stack up well before. not only is the mainline congested here, jersey wall you can see the slow traffic plus the ramp coming in, very slow going all that traffic headed on to northbound 395, no problems to report on the inner loop it will slow as you guys continue to work your way, an non-dale it is an 8 minute commute, headed towards springfield on 866. never mind here we go thank you julie the horror continues to escalate in syria among the deadliest conflicts of arab

7:37 am
their ambassadors and asking syrian ambassadors to leave but it comes down to what the air rack league will do and -- arab league will do and turkey will do. syrians in many ways are left alone at this moment. >> there is some confusion in area there are various sects involved in this as well does it make it harder for outsiders to manage what is going on? >> yes, syria is very many minorities not just one major majority and small minority but many minorities you have christians, curds even within the christians the sunnis makes it a lot more complicated but that is is one of the problems of the position it is also fragmented and there is parts within the position not some times able to come together in apposing the regime. >> could we see nato forces intervene? >> i don't think any time soon
7:38 am
mainly because of the lack of support international support you have china against it and russia against it that wasn't the case in libya in libya there was enough negotiations, to say okay let this happen and i think that will happen unfortunately, or fortunately in this case i think we will have to trust and work together with neighbors officiary, specifically, turkey, jordan, countries boarderring. one more question about syria, you mention rewash and china they are more or less now supporting the regime, does that put us or the west on a collision course with them now. >> not necessarily they both have their own interest when you look at the middle east, each country has its own allies and wants to protect those. russia and china have lost allies recently when they are looking at syria and looking at iran they are looking at the last two allies they have in
7:39 am
the region they don't want to lose them toppling the regime is against their interest they are not looking at the human rights aspect they are looking at what will we benefit out of this we are going to lose our places in the middle east now we are prepared to keep this regime we will try to find a way that is good for everybody but not losing our allies. >> let's turn to iran president obama wants to increase or toughen the sanctions against iran what is life -- do we have a sense to of what life is like right now for the average iranian citizen under these sanctions. >> that is a brilliant question often what happens with sanctions, it is supposed to go against the elite but ends up going against the people of those countries we saw the same thing happening in iraq before where millions of iraqis suffered hundreds of thousands died in those regimes and that is the fear of those sanctions now many sanctions are new that are being introduced we still haven't felt their effect in iran the fear is that it is going to hurt the people instead of hurting the regime
7:40 am
if that happens you end up aligning the opposition with the iranian regime. >> in egypt we see sam la hood the son of the transportation secretary and others, about 20 others who are going to go to trial now in egypt what can the u.s. do to sir can you remember vent that do we have any -- circumvent that do we have any influence to get them out of there? >> there will be a lot of diplomatic relations and i think it is failed between the u.s. and egyptian the military -- there are some major disagreements in how fast egypt is moving toward democracy the military in egypt is not happy with conventions outsiders saying we need to move faster we need to get the military up and so but there is still a lot of relationship between the two sides america still gives over

a billion dollars to egypt and that gives a lot of play to deal with egyptians but egypt will be unstable for awhile and we have to get used to that after revolution the pattern of revolution there is never stability right away after revolution it takes some times a few years until we get to the place we want to and we will see, possibly, even second and third revolutions in some of these countries because that is how it goes. >> possibly, now looks like elections will be moved up in egypt. thank you so much for coming in always good to have you here sure we will have you back again some time soon. >> alison back to you. >> 7:41 a.m. are you looking for a job in there may be an ap for that com >> plus cleaning house imagine the entire staff at your child's school being replaced overnight. the drastic measures by a los angeles school district following the arrest of a pair of teachers we will explain that story
