their ambassadors and asking syrian ambassadors to leave but it comes down to what the air rack league will do and -- arab league will do and turkey will do. syrians in many ways are left alone at this moment. >> there is some confusion in area there are various sects involved in this as well does it make it harder for outsiders to manage what is going on? >> yes, syria is very many minorities not just one major majority and small minority but many minorities you have christians, curds even within the christians the sunnis makes it a lot more complicated but that is is one of the problems of the position it is also fragmented and there is parts within the position not some times able to come together in apposing the regime. >> could we see nato forces intervene? >> i don't think any time soon

mainly because of the lack of support international support you have china against it and russia against it that wasn't the case in libya in libya there was enough negotiations, to say okay let this happen and i think that will happen unfortunately, or fortunately in this case i think we will have to trust and work together with neighbors officiary, specifically, turkey, jordan, countries boarderring. one more question about syria, you mention rewash and china they are more or less now supporting the regime, does that put us or the west on a collision course with them now. >> not necessarily they both have their own interest when you look at the middle east, each country has its own allies and wants to protect those. russia and china have lost allies recently when they are looking at syria and looking at iran they are looking at the last two allies they have in

the region they don't want to lose them toppling the regime is against their interest they are not looking at the human rights aspect they are looking at what will we benefit out of this we are going to lose our places in the middle east now we are prepared to keep this regime we will try to find a way that is good for everybody but not losing our allies. >> let's turn to iran president obama wants to increase or toughen the sanctions against iran what is life -- do we have a sense to of what life is like right now for the average iranian citizen under these sanctions. >> that is a brilliant question often what happens with sanctions, it is supposed to go against the elite but ends up going against the people of those countries we saw the same thing happening in iraq before where millions of iraqis suffered hundreds of thousands died in those regimes and that is the fear of those sanctions now many sanctions are new that are being introduced we still haven't felt their effect in iran the fear is that it is going to hurt the people instead of hurting the regime

if that happens you end up aligning the opposition with the iranian regime. >> in egypt we see sam la hood the son of the transportation secretary and others, about 20 others who are going to go to trial now in egypt what can the u.s. do to sir can you remember vent that do we have any -- circumvent that do we have any influence to get them out of there? >> there will be a lot of diplomatic relations and i think it is failed between the u.s. and egyptian the military -- there are some major disagreements in how fast egypt is moving toward democracy the military in egypt is not happy with conventions outsiders saying we need to move faster we need to get the military up and so but there is still a lot of relationship between the two sides america still gives over

upper body but there is no specific evidence linking the deaths the first incident was reported 10:45 p.m. last night, new carrolton police responded to find a man lying unresponsive in the street along 85th avenue just down the street from new carrolton metro station that victim was pro municipal councilled dead at the scene, prince georges county police are investigating 11:30 a.m., under an hour later prince georges county firefighters in the area came across another body lying in the street this timarau bicycle was found near -- this time a bias well 'cause found nearby, -- this time a bicycle was found nearby this victim was also pronounced dead at the scene. appears they are both young adults both scenes, we don't know how long they were lying on the ground, till pretty early in the investigation

i will read that in a moment first fill us in on details here and how you got wind of this. >> we were prided credit card statements by a source for the credit card that purchased the plane tickets then we were able to use that as a map to locate both payments, one is from tax payers one is there his campaign -- one is from his campaign the campaign would pay off the credit card and then paul would get reimbursed by tax payers for the exact same flight. >> at this point do you know what happened to that money? >> well, the second payment went to ron paul i mean, that -- the records indicate it went to his bank account. >> but you found no records that indicate that money was later paid back to -- >> no, in fact the fcc filings would show like kind of reimbursement an odd way to do it but the records would show it and they don't. >> i want to read a statement from the paul campaign,

chairman jesse ben was asked about this yesterday and said those flights quote may appear to show due duplicate reimbursements because his wife or staff traveled with him. his travel to dc would be reimbursed for political business but the campaign would reimburse his companions ticket. >> in most cases ron paul is listed as the passenger in other cases when caroll paul his wife or other staffers were listed, we found they were reimbursed in addition to his ticket. >> is it possible you have -- there is a congressional office that isn't communicating fully with the campaign staff or something is it possible? this could have been done in error. >> yeah, certainly we don't know what was going through ron

paul's mind at the time, we've got eight examples where it happened and dozens where evidence indicates it did happen. and in his statement, jesse benetton said that roll call was using stolen credit card records. >> the campaign indicated they believe the only way we could have gotten these credit card records is if they were stolen from an office in texas now we have no reason to believe they were stolen we certainly didn't steal any records ourselves. >> are you all surprised this is not something that popped up before there are audits that go on all the time of congress people and congressional staffers. >> it is pretty surprising there is no body that compares the two expenses between the campaign and congressional office. >> fcc is in charge of the campaign expenses and house finance office is in charge of the travel expenses out of the congressional office budget but

>> thank you so much. >> let me ask you first, with this knowledge that you just have, living with hiv, what has changed over the sadly what has same. >> you know this is the 31st year of the hiv epidemic worldwide we have seen so many medical and scientific advances now it is possible for people who are infected to live a longer and healthier life, so long as they are on treatment and it is also important for us to work on getting everyone to know that prevention is still the best way to prevent getting hiv infection. sadly the message just seems to get lost especially in the black community with these awful statistics we have to report, with this epidemic still why isn't is message getting through to all of us. >> that is why we have national hiv awareness day to particularly shine a light on the epidemic in the black community is more black people become aware of the epidemic

for our people and those people infected know it is all right to go ahead and get tested and get on treatment and care for people to of course take precautions. >> why do you think the black population needs to have that sort of extra reminder or it seems that we are hit, a little harder by this epidemic why is that? >> the early days of the epidemic, hit the white gay men population so much, and so i think african americans ignored the epidemic there has been a lot of stigma because of home sexuality, because of drug abuse et cetera, things such as that i think we have all come a long way in these 30 years to understand the hiv virus can effect anyone. >> 2009 blacks accounted for 44% of hiv infections, blacks only make up 14% of the population that number is way

out of proportion there also in 2007 hiv was the third leading cause excuse me jesse of death for black men and women aged 35 to 44 that is the prime of your life. >> prime of your life and in this country there are over a million people, live being hiv, and approximately 20 to 25% don't even know they are infected and each year we still have approximately 50,000 new infections each year, and the vast majority of those of course are with african americans. >> so that indeed you mentioned it is the power then of national black hiv aids awareness day you can get tested today. >> yes. >> okay. >> testing facilities are available all across the country and all across this region if you would like to have an hiv test go to national hiv day, national black aids day.org and find a clinic in your own neighbourhood where you might be able to get free testing to day. >> right you know, you

mentioned that word stigma, it is sad we still talk about that today this does effect all of us. >> right >> will that ever go away in your opinion? >> faith leaders, political leaders educational leaders even our own family members are starting to overcome the stigma of hiv in the black community that is a wonderful thing when we talk about the head of the national naacp saying everyone should be aware of hiv and understand how important it is for the community and embrace people for living with hiv as part of their families as part of their communities to help them live longer we are overcoming the stigma but have a ways to go whichever >> it feels like a long way away but isn't really july 22nd, to 27th international aids conference will be held here in dc. >> international aids conference is the bi annual show case for the progression of hiv prevention, treatment, care and science it happens every two years and travels around the world and will be in

depression, which increased her risk of having a heart attack that is well known in literature now what is exciting alison is there is a new blood test that might be able to diagnose you with depression. it is really kind of cool stuff. >> that is so interesting okay. now this depression you said can some times lead to a heart attack, am i linking that in together? how serious then would depression be in this case? >> well, depression -- many people thing of depression as something that they might want to live with, or in the worst case scenario someone takes their own life but depression can have significant effects on other bodily parts like the heart, all right. valentines weekend i brought my heart with me basically, the heart can be effected by depression because depression causes we thing the platelets
