very drunk george huguely that day and that night a couple teammates saw him as he returned allegedly from yeardley love's apartment and described his demeanour and one teammate, said he was sitting there on the couch with a blank stare and kept saying to him george what is wrong with you. that was most of the testimony yesterday prosecution then rested and then defense asked five of the charges be dropped against george huguely, but the judge said that he felt the prosecution had presented enough testimony for the jury to consider so he denied that and then defense began their case they called a toxicologist to the scene first who said he believed yeardley love was drunker than what the medical examiner said, and then a doctor was called to the stand a neuropathologist from chicago who gave a different opinion on how he thought yeardley love died the medical examiner here

in virginia believes she died of cardiac arrhythmia, brought on by blunt force trauma to the head this man believed she suffocated after being assaulted her face was down in the bloodied pillow and couldn't get enough blood and oxygen to her brain and suffocated as you may recall medical evidence so far shows she was alive for 2 hours after george huguely left the apartment that morning allison. >> just horrifying details in this. paul let me ask you a question the prosecutor asked the doctor called to the stand if he was paid to testify, very interesting, what do we know about it. >> well, he was asked that question it is a pretty common tactic by prosecutors to do this when defense bring as doctor to the stand typically they are not just going the come for free he admitted he was being paid $8,000 by defense to come and testify and give his opinion he is one of 6 doctors we expect to take the

not a significant amount of money. it is a significant amount of money for many of us. >> do you feel like -- you live in this area you like to stay informed you took the time to respond to this, do you feel that there are times where lawmakers congress whoever just is not really listening to what people are saying? >> i think they have blinders on and ear plugs in that is what i think there is a faction in congress that doesn't seem to know what is going on, with america, with the average citizen the president has a system in place where the average citizen can in send their message -- fact send their message in someone is going to read it, if it is important enough, it will land on his desk. i know congress would do well as a body to emulate that, so they can keep their fingers on the pulse of what is going on in america. >> we appreciate you taking the

>> an update on yesterday's horrific prison fire in honduras. most inmates who died were awaiting trial and never been charged. 358 inmates were killed the prison was operating at double capacity the governor says she received a call from an inmate who stated he was going to set the prison on fire. guards thought they were dealing with a prison break and kept firefighters out of the building, for half an hour. community group is trying to make sure the father who killed his two sons by setting off an explosion in their home is not buried next to them.

say this first hand but i have heard people are saying their bulbs pop up because it has been so warm. >> it is and the questions have been coming in about what to do, are the plants going to be okay is there any way to save the plants and you know, from time to time, our weathers in washington tend to be so temperate the plants get a bit confused but this year more so than what i can remember in recent past. >> right. >> it is just a lot earlier i was seeing daffodils blooming in december which is unheard of we've had a number of questions come in one was about this viewer sent in about camel yeahs and the spring blooming camille yeahs, if you are in norfolk virginia, they would bloom now normally ours don't bloom until march they were in full bloom several weeks ago because we had that spike of 70- degree weather this is her picture here and she wanted to know exactly what was going to happen if we got freezing

temperatures. well, camilia blossoms spring ones, are not cold hardy and then she sent in this. >> the sad picture. >> of what happened and basically, the blossoms got zapped they are done they are not coming back the best thing you can do for the plant is clean it up, you know, it is a one shot deal and i mean you are seeing it everywhere cherry blossoms are coming out early the ones on the mall are safe because they are intermediate bloomer but the early bloomers are coming out. >> that was a question we wanted to ask too. cherry blossoms. >> now bulbs, the spring bulbs we talked about another viewer sent in pictures of crocuses and different things blooming right now and wanted to know what would happen here is the little crow curse popping its head up it should be -- crocus popping its head up.

it should be march april. i did an experiment at home i had these daffodils blooming this one has been out in the cold it is fine, this one i put in the freezer overnight just to demonstrate what 0-degree weather just for a couple hours would do to the plant it has completely broken down cell lairly so this one can with stand some cooler temperatures once it gets down to freezing you will have destruction of your plants. and you have this little herb garden here so is it a good time to do that. >> well, these herb gardens are all the rage in late fall and another viewer was asking about if they could plant the herbs now, the best thing to do, do not be tricked by mother nature at this point, this time of the year wait it out wait until mid- march. don't divide up your plants like this and plant them just because you thing we are having an early winter, we could still
