being affected. it started when two massive solar flairs erupted. basically the sun shot a cloud of charged particles traveling at speeds of 4 million miles per hour. they have the ability to trip power grids and interpret gps and air travel. there's no need to panic, it's part of the sun's normal 11- year cycle. >> satellites might experience sort of a single event upsets. people have radio blackout. >> we see every corner of the sun all the time. we are at least able to tell you that this is coming towards us. beware, keep watching.

lanes when she was hit, investigators believe that a silver car struck her as it was racing a green minicooper. she has a daughter and a husband who lives with her here and despite the fact that police say it's a busy road where thousands of cars travel, only 3 witnesses have come forward. they're not saying how fast those cars were going, just it was a speed contest.
