preakness race is around 6:20. who will it be? tune in to see. back to you allison. >> thank you so much. switching up the music a little bit but the segment the same. it's time for another ask allison. it is friday after all. here's the question. a viewer writes how do i stop my heels from flopping in the back? i brought those gel -- bought those gel things but they don't stick nor work and then she writes, help me diva. when i read that, the personality disorder jumped off of the computer screen. you know how it does that sometimes? so i asked keisha horton to come in to studio today so we can try to get to the bottom of this. so this is the lovely keisha horton. good morning. >> good morning. >> so nice to meet you. >> nice to meet you too. >> i get a lot of e-mails especially with the ask allison piece and yours was i've got to meet you and i need to have you in here so i said keisha, bring your problem heels and we are going to work it out.
9:48 am
earlier tia mowry was in so i asked her too. she says don't lotion -- make sure you don't lotion like the heel or even around but you know how we are with our lotion. she says that's what she does. so anyway, okay. first before we go to this plan b, what i found, you said you tried these little gel ones but they don't work? >> no. >> but there are these heel cushions, heel grippers. i'm going to go to the one that my girlfriend, tracey down in atlanta swears by and when we were in atlanta at the dollar tree, she said these are the ones that work for me. >> dollar tree? >> dollar tree, versus the more expensive ones because they can get pricey. >> yeah. >> and sometimes they don't work. so we are going to try this today. and just so i get it right, the heel, and i wore some of my problem heels today, because they slip off, the bottom. >> exactly. >> miss courtney is here. this is your lovely little girl and i'm going to ask you to come in. she is so cute, i needed to get her on tv for just a second.
9:49 am
thank you courtney. now you take out your problem shoes and we are going to push these chairs back and we are going to try to do something with it. come on, keisha, let's do this. this is a first on ask allison so i hope you still love me if this doesn't work afterwards. this is what it is, and it's the peep toe 2. i'm going to give you a second of privacy. you put that shoe on and we are going to watch her walk. we are going do these, the no slips. not putting down any other brand but they can get pricey. let's see the problem first and then we are going to do the result. okay. walk your walk. i really think this might be a whole size too big. did we ever think about this too? >> no. this is a 10. >> that's what you wear? >> if i go any size smaller, it's too small. >> is it just one or is it both? >> it's both. >> so let's try these real quick. this is the no slip. put it in here.
9:50 am
give me those shoes. you can take them off and i'll bend down and get them. you have to take the bottom off. this is just -- i know people at home are just like, yeah, no duh, but the deal is the price break on these. here's one. let's see how that is compared to the other one. >> wait a minute. >> is that better? >> this is much better. >> then there you go. >> wait a minute. >> i'm telling you, dollar tree, but let me also tell you other things. i saw online the hair spray worked really well. >> i'm going to hair spray keisha's foot real quick. i know my producer is about to shout. >> we are going to see how the other one fits too, regular hair spray. tia mowry says don't -- now, you're supposed to do it on your -- >> you're supposed do it on your foot really. >> okay. >> i'll clean it up for you after. >> okay. >> okay.
9:51 am
let's try that. i'm going to pass along some other tips too. no lotions, the other tips are put some newspaper -- >> i can't believe this. >> is it working? >> this is working. this one is working. apply adhesive bandages inside the heel of your shoe. somebody says get socks and put them in. but maybe the little thin ones. >> stuff it and it will push -- >> what you don't want is you're somewhere and all of a sudden here comes the newspaper. how are you feeling? >> this is much better. actually, the hair spray one is much better. >> is it? >> it's the hair spray one. i love the hair spray one. >> it works as adhesive. we have solved a real dilemma. >> courtney, come in and we are going to say goodbye to you too. keisha horton, you are wonderful. thank you for coming in. >> thank you. >> thank you, miss courtney for coming in. tony, over to you. we have solved something today. >> that's great, allison. and also want to let people know that if they have got a

had to tell people that. pretty cool. >> thank you. i'm just a giant cheerleader for some great airmen and families that carry out a very important mission. nobody does it better and i'm proud to be associated with the 89th airlift wing. >> reporter: tell me about what folks are going to see out here. i know this is the year that you have the blue angels, obviously a big attraction. >> yes. blue angels great. in addition to all the air force stuff going on, we are celebrating the marine corps' 100th anniversary of aviation so the blue angels are growing to put an exclamation point on that with style and we couldn't be prouder to have them and host the community to see what the base is about. >> reporter: you can see already you have the displays out here of the different planes. give me an idea of some of the highlights that people may notice when they are out here taking a look at the planes out here. >> absolutely. you're going to see a lot of marine corps aviation as we celebrate their 100th year. you're going to see aircraft and helicopters from every service because this base, joint base andrews is a total force base. we have active duty guard and
9:54 am
reserve. we also enjoy soldiers, sailors, marines and coastguards. you won't find a better base that has it all than joint base andrews. >> reporter: certainly do have it all including things for the kids as well. i know people may have noticed as we were taking a look around we have sam the fox here who was your mascot. these guys will be hanging out here too to entertain the kids. >> absolutely. it will be fun for the whole family. we got sam fox here, there's bouncy castles, working dog demonstrations, security force demonstrations. if aviation is your thing, you can find plenty -- not your thing, you can find plenty of things to do and watch the planes too. it will be great. >> reporter: great, we've seen some of them practicing a little bit ago. they were flying over this area. just if you can give some advice to folks out there, maybe who haven't come out here before, the best advice for them trying to get out here to the base and get out here for the day. >> reporter: absolutely. go to the website first, jsoh.org. it's got everything you need, it's got the schedule, what you
9:55 am
can bring, what you can't bring. the gates open at 8:00 so come early, be prepared to put some sunscreen on and provide your own shade but most importantly come here with a great attitude. joint base andrews is the community's base. prince george's county could not be a better place. maryland could not be a better place. we are on the doorstep of the nation's capitol. there is not a better mission in this -- in the united states than to see it right here and so we look forward to being able to thank the community for their support and then for the community to come on this base, see what their base, their airmen are about and for them to see what the nation's treasure goes to do to defending the nation. >> reporter: we are appreciative of your service and their service as well. thank you for talking with us toot. we appreciate it. >> my pleasure. >> reporter: good luck this weekend. we will be right back. you're watching fox 5 morning news. stay with us.
