accusations of pay outs in grey's campaign. he faces three illegal counts of making campaign contributions. it is believed he will plead guilty in a deal he made with federal prosecutors but will not know until 11:00 a.m. this morning, feds say gore used three money orders to make contributions in the name of another person court papers do not specifically name grey or brown but documents allege donations were transferred from candidate a to candidate b, and that gore destroy add notebook containing a record of those illegal payments. brown said he was paid by grey staffers to bash former mayor fente during campaign debate. it was just $535 but could support much bigger allegations that mayor grey himself was involved in illegal campaign dealings, for a city council

that has grown weary of scandals, some members are ready for the feds to wrap up a yearlong investigation whatever the outcome. >> i am just really hopeful the u.s. attorney is getting to the end of these investigations, certainly the people of the district of columbia, deserve to know what happened, and if their laws are broken people have to be held accountable. >> now mayor grey under advice from his attorney has not said anything about these charges against his former treasurer of his campaign, now in the past, grey has denied any allegations any misdoingings by his campaign, calling those actions if they were to happen, absolutely reprehensible he has been in las vegas on city council business, he is expected back today, or some time tomorrow allison. >> melanie alnwick thank you. day 3,000 of jury deliberations in the -- day 3,

now, of the jury deliberations in the john edwards trial. they asked for a look at evidence including a handwritten note from a wealthy donor. three agents with the dea are under investigation for hiring pros cutes in colombia, they were reportedly brought to the apartment of one of the agents, there is word, this was not likely or this was likely not just the one time incident, the investigation is not linked to the prostitution scandal involving u.s. military and secret service agents in colombia last month. several secret service members have been dismissed in that case. former imf chief, dominic strauss-kahn facing a new rape allegation. he is accused of being involved in a rape that took place during a sex party at a washington hotel. this alleged incident happened while he was chief of imf. the investigation follow as request earlier this month to

broaden a suspected prostitution probe to examine claims of rape in december 2010. another legal challenge to a key piece of president obama's health care reform law, archdiocese of washington and more than 40 other catholic institutions filed a lawsuit, stemming from the mandate that catholic employ injuries provide coverage for birth -- employers provide coverage for birth control. leaders contend it is a violation of freedom of rights of religion, forcing catholic institutions to go against the core belief of the church. race for president may be tightening even further this morning as mitt romney's camp uses a statement from an obama supporter for its latest attack. sarah similar monos is back now to sort out all the drama chef. >> well, that's right. the president's camp not pleased about what a supporter had to say here is why these statements and ads are being taken so seriously. a new poll shows this is an eve match between the president and

mitt romney when it comes to the economy. >> reporter: president obama returned to the white house last night after a whirl wind of world diplomacy first at camp david then the big nato summit in chicago. when mitt romney's name came up at an official press conference he quickly shifted into campaign mode. >> governor romney he has main calling card for why he should be president is his business experience. >> reporter: the president was defending his own campaign ads that aggressively targeted romney's time as a private equity investor but he also had to contend with some of his own high profile supporters including a rising star in his own party newark new jersey mayor corey booker fed up with ads from both sides. >> it is nauseating to the american public, enough is enough, stop attacking private equity. >> reporter: booker would later try to soften remarks but not before the romney campaign turned remarks and others from

billion but now over $3 billion. lawmakers will ask the head of securities and exchange commission if wall street banks need tougher oversight. >> over in europe a new warning countries using the euro could face a severe recession. it was issued this morning. the euro zone economy is expected to shrink this year and next year only manage a weak recovery. >> possible break through in nuclear talks with iran. head of un nuclear agency says iran agreed to a deal to allow inspectors to probe its suspected work on nuclear weapons. leaders in iran maintained that nuclear ambitions are only for energy, the u.s. and some other western countries are skeptical, about this deal. united states ambassador to afghanistan is leaving this summer. the u.s. embassy in kabul

confirms the ambassador, ryan crocker is departing as the u.s. negotiates a withdrawal from the long and costly war. he came out of retirement last year to become ambassador and led to diplomatic efforts to reduce the presence in afghanistan. >> unmanned rocket designed and built by a private company blasted off this morning on a historic mission. going to deliver a supply capsule to the international space station the first privately owned company to do so. will thomas is back this morning with a closer look at the mission and what it all means. >> a lot of significance about the mission, you are going to want to hear about some unique cargo onboard for sure but first let's talk about the business behind it. as you heard, it is the first private company, to launch a spacecraft, to the international space station. this also marks the beginning of commercial space travel. let's show you the lift off and predawn hours this morning from

cape canaveral. >> five, four, three, two, one, zero. >> launch indeed the hope is the space x falcon 9 rocket and other commercial enterprises will replace the retired space shuttle fleet and carry cargo and eventually astronauts to the space station. right now russia's spacecraft is the only vehicle currently able to send astronauts to the space station. nasa retired the shuttle program back in july, before companies like space x and another called orbital sciences out of dulles virginia proved they could reach to station. the obama administration is betting private companies can do it cheaper. you are seeing it here what the space x dragon capsule looks like. how it will attach to the space station this thursday and an arm from the station latches on brings it forward for docking, the six member crew of the space station will spend the next couple weeks unloading a

across the nation, robbie sentenced to 30 days behind bars for using his web cam to view a relationship between his roommate and another man. robbie found guilty on all 15 counts in february and could have faced 10 years in jail. using a stern tone, the judge making clear he was not impressed with robbie's attempts to show remorse. >> i have not heard you apologize once in the letter you gave to present tense people, it is -- present tense people it is quote unimpressive i know you apologized to tyler and his family. robbie will pay a $10,000 fine which will go to a state chartered group, helping crime victims, do 300 hours community service and do classes on cyber bullying. >> this individual was not convicted of a hate crime. he was convicted of a bias crime and there is a difference. i say that because i do not believe he hated tyler clemente he had no reason to.

death toll rises to four as

another mount everest climber is found dead. this after they tried making their way down the world's highest mountain after reaching the summit over the weekend. an estimated 150 people rushed to take advantage of a brief window of good weather friday and saturday hoping to successfully make the climb. victims are believed to have suffered exhaustion and altitude sickness. dramatic rescue of a teen in washington state. police videotaped the rescue, the 13-year-old boy got stuck at the top after a 270-foot water fall he wasn't scared first. rescuers used ropes and ladders to get him down, he waded or to get to him. he waited 8 hours before they reached him. fox 5s holly morris at the franciscan monastery of the holly land in northeast dc. >> she is learning more about what you can see and do during the spring and summer months there. good morning. >> good morning. of course when you come here you want to see memorial church, go around and see the

cabbage we also have some rigosas we try to take the most fragrant roses that we can find in the formal garden, harvest those, as they are about to die off, and use the rose petals for potpourri. you can see in the screen behind you some of the rose petals we have harvested. we have -- what we do is we take the rose petals strip them and we will put them on a screen for drying. >> before we show that i want to make sure we talk about the lavender we are seeing lovely pictures of that as well. tell me about the lavender gardens. >> they are just beginning to bloom. the ones upfront that get a lot of sun, started we have the long stemmed lavender, provence and then the shorter ones and those, this is what we picked

this morning. here is some that have been hanging a couple days. >> we went to the gardens we saw them in bloom ready to be picked ready to be dried and now you have both talked a bit about the process to which you are taking them. >> on the table here, up here. yeah, rosemary. >> you have to let these dry how long do they hang here >> they hang here but all this must be crispy dry, otherwise it will mildew >> the humidity is really helping. >> right. >> so it is taking longer. >> it is taking longer but we will crank up the dehumid fier when this is over and that will make a big difference. >> christina, show us the concoctions you are making here because i know our time is fleeting. >> well, one of the things we do with the lavender what i have in my hand is dried

lavender buds what we will do is take that, take another herb that you may have seen, previously, something called mugwort, it is an herb and it also tends to be weedy we have it growing as a volunteer all over the garden i combine these two, and i mix them up, and that is a very very simple potpourri we use in our dream pillow mix >> it smells dreamy. >> lovely >> another thing we do is take the lavender, take that with our rose petals, and somerosemary this is something simple some body could make it home. you take this, set it out in a dish, let it just perfume your room of your house. >> right. >> yeah, you can put it sachet it is simple to make. >> we did reference the roses and drying racks here i want
