virginia governor mcdonald changes his tune about romney's vice presidential pick. sherry lee following all developments from our newsroom. >> good morning tony. president obama and mitt romney have been putting their spin on the health care reform law and days leading up to the supreme court's decision. both campaigns are holding events in the area the high court's decision is playing a pivotal role in the race. president obama is back home, yesterday during a fundraiser in atlanta he went on the attack over jobs, taxes and health care ahead of tomorrow's supreme court ruling he told the crowd the country doesn't need to refight the battle over health care reform. it is the right thing to do to give 30 million americans health insurance, that didn't have it before >> if obama care is not being constitutional the first three and a half years will have been wasted on something that has not helped the american people. >> mitt romney making a

campaign stop in se lem virginia he barbed the president over what he called obama care. romney wants the law over turned if it is he plans to replace it with common sense reform. the likely nominee criticized the president and said obama failed to deliver on jobs and economy romney will be talking about jobs again today during a stop in a business in sterlingvirginia. he could boost his chances in the common wealth mcdonald seems to be backing off earlier denials, just last month he said he wasn't being vetted but asked about it again on wtops ask the governor he refused to discuss the vetting process and referred questions to the romney campaign. no announcement is expected today romney is now openly vetting potential vp president's and with the change of tune it could suggest he may soon be on the list virginia is considered a swing state in the upcoming presidential election something obama won in 2008 polls show the presidential race is now a dead heat, something that could change based on supreme court's health

whitman walker health, walgreens and a coalition called greater than aids is offering free tests at three dc locations joining us now from northwest washington to talk about when and where free tests are being conducted is megan davies she is director of community health at whitman walker health. thank you for joining us this morning. firstover all, we gave -- first of all we gave numbers for washington, which are staggering overall nationwide what are the latest numbers. >> right now we have a 2.7% epidemic here in dc 1% is considered epidemic we are one of the worst we have a whole lot to do yes numbers are better than they were before but we have a lot of work to do when it comes to hiv. >> in the district what demographic is most at risk and why? >> so, pretty much anybody in dc, can be at risk for hiv it is definitely more predominant in the african american community people of color as well as men having sex with men. although heterosexual rates are

rising as well and so really we just need to tell anybody, who is living in the dc area, please come and get an hiv test at least once a year if not every six months the only way to know your status is get a test. >> and you are standing outside a walgreens in northwest they are participating in this, tell us where we can get free hiv testing and when. >> as you can see, i am at the walgreens my team will do hiv testing today, tomorrow friday from 3 to 7:00 p.m. we have free hiv testing at both whitman walker sites in northwest right by the u street metro and anacostia right by the anacostia metro all day every day, come on get a free hiv test, 15 to 20 minute, pretty much painless a little finger stick or an oral swab and then you know your status. >> do you need an appointment to get that test? >> you sure don't it is walk in we really want to make it as easy as possible. >> and we will talk you through things when you get your test

the national zoo and famously learned to use a screw driver has died. gunner was 38 years old when he died monday, he was an actual seal that the navy used during the cold war to find things on the ocean floor. he also learned how to remove equipment and turn a large bell. gunner was transferred from the navy to national zoo, in 1979. look at that face. in this mornings sports breakfast capitals will formerly announce their new head coach today at verizon center they hired former team captain adam oats he played 19 seasons in nhl 6 here in dc he helped lead the caps to stanley cup finals in 1998 this is oat's first head coaching job he has been an assistant with the new jersey devils for three years. historic decision made right here in the district. >> college football has a new playoff system, will thomas back with the plan ahead and
