7:36 am
right after raising -- here is the proof, recently raised taxes on all of maryland, they are paying more taxes individually, what does legislature do, they come back to special session in dog days of august and cut taxes, for which casino moguls, buy up to 25% you and i have been around a long time but never seen anything this drastic, this special session where, essentially the process is high jacked by the gambling industry, as far as i could tell there were two people governor and senate president pushing it and end up with something which is i think going to be very bad nor the economy and reputation. >> in the past the governor and others have been critical they haven't been big fans of raising money for the state

from gambling revenue but seemed to turn around. the folks who run maryland live a lot of these people are saying these demands are crazy yet it all did go through you think the national gambling industry is using undue influence >> absolutely you follow the money, contributions to these elected officials and groups that are affiliated with them largely secretive, out of view of normal campaign disclosure, what we are seeing, is a bank robbery in broad daylight half a billion dollars from the tax payers going to be given to the gambling economy that is like that old story the emperor has no clothes the emperor were is walking down to the parade absolutely naked and everybody is too afraid to say you don't have any clothes on. that is what is going on right now. little boy finally said why doesn't he have any clothes on well, that session, in annapolis, will go down in

history, as if not the most -- i hate to use the word corrupt but implies lack of integrity but boy that was an exercise in just special interest, political power given this tough economy, to inject more gambling in on top of what we already have, which has not been very successful, my pitch to people, is whether you love gambling in casinos or hate them don't vote this fall, in a referendum, to endorse this travesty we just saw in annapolis. >> will you campaign actively to encourage voters not to vote for this. >> absolutely it is a bad deal for maryland, question is, who owns our government, when national gambling industry can demonstrate this kind of power, have the governor or senate president do exactly what they tell them to do, that is a
