a scary but spectacular sight above russia, as the sky begins to fall literally. this is amateur video taken of a meteor on a collision course with earth. at least 500 people, we're hearing numbers that are higher than that, but at least 500 people were hurt when the huge chunk of space rock crashed into a remote region over russia. >> wisdom martin joins us from the newsroom with more of that spectacular video and the damage left behind. i know some of this story is now fluid, wisdom. >> you're right. scientists estimate the meteor that fell weighed about 10 tons, and struck at super sonic speeds. >> this is more video taken as the meteor broke apart in the atmosphere, leaving behind a

for today's sports breakfast we are heading to florida. >> it's where spring training is underway for the washington nationals. dave ross is here. >> where you been, dave?
9:14 am
>> i know, late start. it's such a big deal, that i had to show up here and scott smith is down in florida right now as we speak. scott, how good does it feel knowing you're covering the reigning division champions? >> reporter: good morning. it's fantastic. here in the sunshine state we've yet to see the sunshine. been raining since we got here. hopefully the clouds break today and we'll get back to action and maybe bring out the shorts. we are privileged to welcome in one of the fine relievers, tyler clippard. how has it been? couple of days here in florida already, and getting to work as defending nl east champs. >> been fun. good to see the guys again. offseason you go your respective ways and get ready to prepare for the season. always good to come back, see
9:15 am
the guys and get the juices going on. >> reporter: you and drew storen taking off to london? >> yeah, we decided to get away for a little bit after the long season. something i wanted to do for a long time. go see what europe was all about. we got to see a soccer game over there, which was -- >> reporter: they get a little crazy. >> yeah. experience in itself. but, you know, it was a fun trip. >> reporter: you are, you were at least, roommates with drew last year. were there words said between you guys? >> we were consoling each other. it was a tough loss. not the way you wanted the season to end. but we were all in it together. obviously he was out there for the last little bit. but, you know, a long season. lot of winning to get to that point. it was kind of devastating for everyone. >> reporter: tough way to end.
9:16 am
but let's not forget all you were able to accomplish. talk about the expectations. i know davey johnson has put out there, world series or bust. >> i think we're fired up regardless of anything else. we don't need more motivation in what happened last year and to have that kind of ripped away from us a little bit. we want to get to the promised land, obviously. we had a little taste of what the postseason was all about, and so we're excited to kind of take that next step this year. >> reporter: also you welcome in a new closer, soriano. you talk about this stacked bullpen. >> we're excited about what we got down there. we were pretty good last year and we're going to be even better this year. so we're excited. our whole team from top to bottom is pretty special and we realize that. it's a long season, so we kind of keep our nose down and keep
9:17 am
working hard, because it's a long season. but we're excited about it. >> reporter: we should mention, happy birthday. turned what 28 # yesterday? >> yeah, 28. >> reporter: went out to the dinner with the guys? >> yeah, kept things simple. >> reporter: good stuff, man. best of luck out there the rest of spring. tyler clippard, everybody. they'll have a practice coming up at 10:00 you get going? >> yeah. >> reporter: very good. dave, there you have it. a sample of what's going on here this week. guys getting to work, day two of workouts and the players, the position players will be reporting today as well. >> scott, let me ask you this, because i know you got down there yesterday, and the report is bryce harper is not just better, but bigger. can you talk about the weight gain of one bryce harper? >> reporter: well, you know, young guy, 20 years old. able to pack on that muscle weight that you and i both long to do. >> yes. >> reporter: what he's able to do in four months, packed on 10 to 15-pound of muscle, dave. he's a big man now.
9:18 am
he's grown up. but yes, all muscle and he says he expects maybe to trim down to about 220, so a lot of that will be shed through cardio and what not. yes, he and strasburg who gained about 10 pounds of solid muscle. both guys talking about maturing in the offseason and establishing a lot more dense muscle mass. >> that's what i do, too, scott, i like to trim down to 220 before the show every year. one last question, you talk about this town, and we throw around 100 wins like it's no big deal. the expectation level for this team, that's still a gaudy number to reach each and every year. do you sense these guys have any of that pressure, like all of a sudden the target is now on them? >> reporter: well, they all talk about having the target on their back, but i think they almost enjoy it. i think they like what davey johnson throws out there, world series or bust scenario. they feed off that confidence
9:19 am
that comes down from the manager and everybody's got it. why wouldn't they postthat number? 98wins last year. expect to be better this year. moved werth to right, and harper over to left. they add soriano to that bullpen. unstoppable 7-8-9 combo. so i think that that's a reasonable expectation and they're looking forward to, and it's better to have these type of expectations that seem to be somewhat unrealistic than maybe the alternate. >> scott smith, get flip flops, and we'll see you all weekend long here on fox 5. this is what we're talking about, expectation levels through the roof, and they don't mind it. >> yeah. which is good. >> not a bad way to be. >> you make a good point, and i was saying it's not easy to do. >> no. >> it's not a given that it's going to happen.
9:20 am
>> we've never done it. >> we hope. >> and all of a sudden, we're going to win 100 games. >> i like it. see the prize and go for it. >> i don't know what the big deal is about harper, i put on 20 pounds. >> are you going to hit homeruns, though? >> no. it's 9:20. just about 9:20 on this friday morning. how to make your relationship with god stronger without sacrificing the one that you have built with your boyfriend. what is this about? that's my question. i'm tackling that tough topic of sex and religion. >> wow. >> in today's ask allison. i'm doing it! >> wow. all right. plus, virginia's newest multimillionaires say they won't let wealth change them, except for one bigupgrade. first, good morning holly. >> reporter: there she is,
