a group of individuals spotted charles walker as he was walking up 28th avenue last night and yesterday afternoon after 4:00 p.m. they saw him with a bag and with some shows inside. they announced the robbery and instead of handing over the bag, the source said that walker turned to run, the gunman opened fire shooting walker once in the back. they never looked into the bag to even see what was inside. relatives have told us that inside that bag was a pair of timberland boots that were going to go to charles walker's girlfriend, that he was heading to the bus stop to take them to her and that the robbery, when it happened, they never lookd into the bag, according to the source and the shoes remained on the scene. walker lost his life, again, shot in the back again. a source close to the investigation telling fox 5 that police expect to make

arrests, at least one arrest win hours. brian, back to on you within hours. back to you. now to a news alert from fairfax county. a twist in a homicide investigation where police found a woman's body left inside a burning apartment. the incident happened yesterday. the apartment complex on waterside vow drive. and why are they on the scene tonight. can you tell us? >> reporter: we learned the identity of the woman. the victim. her name is jennifer lynn pearson, she was 38 years ole. unfortunately, she was pregnant at the time of her death. as you said, this happened yesterday morning and in that 12,000 block of waterside drive. the victim lived inside an apartment here on the second floor. after 6:00 a.m., a neighbor called 911 to report the smell of smoke. when firefighters arrived, they realized it was coming from pearson's apartment. they forced their way inside and as they work to put out the fire, they discovered her body. she suffered from a trauma. exactly how she died and how

the fire started remain under investigation. the police are describing it as an apparent homicide. a neighbor who lyes on the third floor above the apartment told fox 5 that she was aware of a man living there and she said that she heard loud arguing around 2:30 a.m. before the fire started. yesterday afternoon, an officer with the bloodhound began following a trail. the dog continued for an hour up steven age road toward restin parkway and to a bike path for a mile. it's unclear where that trail ended. at this point, the police have not put out any information about a possible suspect in this case. as far as a look out or a description. again, what we can tell you is that a 38-year-old woman was found today in -- dead in the apartment investigated as an, parent hospital -- apparent homicide. her name, jennifer lynn pearson. the fire was confined to her apartment and other neighboring apartments did experience smoke damage. we didn't find anyone home at the neighboring apartments this evening.

that is the latest in restin. back to you. the mother of a murdered toddler filed a wrongful death suit and is seeking millions from a psychologist she claims played a key role in granting unsupervised visits to the child's father. last month, rams was charged with killing 15-month-old prince during one of the visits. sherri ly has more. >> reporter: mccloud said the psychologist hired and paid for by rams to testify in the custody dispute ignored troubling evidence about his history of violence. and though months after he was granted unsupervised visit, the child died in his care. >> my son was my heart. >> reporter: and she wants to make sure those involved in the death of her son pay. she foiled a $20 million lawsuit against an ashburn psychologist in practice. she claims she knew rams was dangerous. the father is accused of drowning the child in the

bathtub. >> there is no price and there is no lawsuit that is going to bring him back. but, what i can do is i can make sure that nobody will forget him. >> reporter: the lawsuit filed in fairfax county where prince died accuses ashburn psychological services and psychologist mark wet wong of negligence -- margaret wong of negligence and wrongful death. wong testified that rams was mentally fit and recommended he be granted unsupervised visit. according to the lawsuit, the doctor ignored reports that rams was abusive and was the suspect in the murderer of his ex-girlfriend shawn mason and the death of his own mother. >> this was not a situation where a normal, otherwise mentally stable person suddenly snapped. mr. rams has a long history of violence. >> reporter: the judge granted the visits in part because of the doctor's testimony and then last october, the toddler died while in the care of his father.

rams was charged with murder last month. police say he had taken out $550,000 in life insurance on the child. >> i think anyone would agree that a parent who would take out a license or policy on an infant for whom he had no financial or illegal responsibilities, um, and violently murder that child which is exactly what he did. >> reporter: rams is not charged in the other two deaths and prince's murder prompted the common wealth's attorney to take a second look. >> people die around this guy. three people have now died. and all of whom he has had a financial benefit too some extent in their death. >> the day that mr. rams was arrested would probably -- was probably one of the best days of my life. >> reporter: mccloud believes the psychologist who vouched for rams should also be held accountable for her son's murder. rams' attorney did not respond to fox 5s call seeking comment and neither did ashburn
