a little confusing.onf part of the reason i think that this ends up being such a difficult issue is because people occupy different di realities. there are a whole bunch of law abiding citizens who have grown up hunt hing with their dad or the going to the shooting range and are responsible gun owners. and then there's a reality that their neighborhoods around the country where it is easier for a 12 or 13 year old to purchase a gun and cheaper than it is for them to get a book. > why can't your administration see that these restrictions that you're putting harder for me to me own a gun or harder for me to me take that where i need to be is actually my kids and i less safe? >> you have to be pretty well pr trained in order to fire a weapon against somebody who is assaulting you and catches you

last summer broke down in tears tonight. he declined to comment on the press just moments ago. but in court christopher bartly became emotional speaking aboutl s his 20 years of service tot country and the army and as and police officer but the judge wasn't hearing it. he called his attempt to make meth an act of betrayal with someone entrusted with the safety of a government facility. worse from the character from the tv show breaking bad and and sentenced him to 4 # months. they were called out to an an explosion on july 18. bartly who was working there as a police officer initially tolder h him that he had an accident with a lighter, but hours later admitted going into an empty lab with the chemicals, coldold medicine and plastic water wa bottles needed to make less than 5 grams of meth. he was even armed with a gas mask and protective glass. while attempting to use the so-called shake and beg methodeth to create the drug an explosion ex

occurred breaking windows sending them 30 feet. bartly put first responders at r risk allowing them to enter an area with dangerous chemicals. ch bartly was making the meth but he could better understand the drug and train officers working for them. after 13 hours of testimony and arguments the judge didn't buy that calling it preposterous. we think this is an appropriate sentence. the judge said he wants to sendend a message that people who are entrusted with responsibility to protect others such as this defendant have an authority to aut do that. there was no -- the us attorney said that there was no intent tonte sell and there was no indication ind that he had ever used. so the question is as i argued to the court, there are only two possible options, one he was seeking to make it to try it for the first time or it was a a legitimate training program. pro

(applause) or are we going to go the path where we have toave continue to make the cuts and we've seen thanks to our task force, what that could look like. our community has expressed their feelings about this overver these last six months pretty clearly that they do not want us

to continue the cuts. the conversation leading up to to tonight's budget proposal focused on it asking extracurricular activities for students, but now the focus for protestors and the school's top boss is to get more money from the state and county to save programs and retain good teachers by offering them hire salaries. the latter costs money. $40 million is slated in this budget that was presented today.oda now, part of the reason the superintendent was able too propose the budget without costs is slowing growth.rowt at tonight's meeting cigars sandy hook said due to slowingd growth there was no requirement to add n additional funding foreign rolement.olem that safes the district about $20 million. en so there are plenty of critics. >> i wish this was done last year. my feelings from last year you should have asked for the wholehole thing last year.
