10:02 pm
there are pockets of very heavy rainfall in here. we're going to see this into the early hours of your saturday. be aware if you're heading out anywhere late tonight or even early in the morning. let's take a look at the big picture because this swath of rain is coming from the deep south and it's all associated with a frontal system. but if you take a look to the west there's some colder air pushing in. that is where they are seeing some snow showers as a result of that. for us here we are doing very well temperature wise thank goodness with all this rain temperatures is above freezing. but if you take a look at temperatures up and down the mid atlantic to the west, you can see where those temperatures are dropping and they are into the 30s. and as i mentioned over our far north and western areas is where we are seeing some of those snow showers. that will last into tomorrow as well. we're also going to be dealing with fog and the winds will start to push in from the west and as far as overnight tonight
10:03 pm
is concerned with all the rain, our overnight lows will be in the low 40s and into the upper 30s. there will be a few spots where we'll see some lower 30s to the north of us, but basically that's what it's going to add up to be. as we progress tonight 40 degrees, winds are from the south 5 to 10 miles per hour. clouds and rain heavy at times. but we have another issue coming up once this weekend is over and it's a temperature swing. wait until you see how low those temperatures will be going. i'm going have those details in just a bit. back to you. >> all right gwen. thank you very much. we're following breaking news tonight from the tiny african nation. militants stormed a hotel and cafe earlier today. they seized dozens of hostages. explosives i should say used during that raid set the hotel on fire.

stadium be located. these are renderings of the new rams stadium in california set to open in 2019. there's speculation that the redskins are pushing back the announcement of their new stadium so they are not overshadowed by the rams plans. pro football talk said an nfl owner compared the new rams stadium to watching "star wars" what it might be a tough act to follow ofor the redskins. the other question is where will the stadium be located. that is still up for debate. the redskins owner isn't even returning dc official's phone calls. the other thing they speculated maybe the national harbor would be a potential location. i went and looked at just aerials if they want to have it anywhere near the main national harbor area they would probably have to buy out apartments

because there's not much open land there available. >> what about south of national harbor itself? >> there's patches. it's one of those things where there's a patch of land and some apartments or there's an office building. they would have to buy up a few different parcels. as we've talked about before it seems like the redskins are just going to see what works best for them between maryland, dc, virginia. but if they stay in prince george's county, then they have an easier way to break their lease early and get a new stadium. >> here's a big question. how big do you build that new stadium? as it is, fedex field was 90,000 and they've taken some seats out because they were having trouble selling the seats. >> it's more about the suites nowadays in these new stadiums. especially with the cowboys, at&t stadium, the actual imprint of the stadium it is is 70 acres, the earn tire parcel of land is 140 acres. so if they're looking to go
