we begin tonight with breaking news. four people have been shot in southeast d.c. thanks for joining us at 10. i'm shawn yancy. >> i'm tony perkins. >> two of the victims are juveniles. maryland arrived at the scene a short time ago on but her street in anacostia. she's there now, marine a. what can you tell us? >> right now, tony, we understand this is a quadruple shooting for victim. three adults and one a 15-year-old. now a woman amongst adults. take a look behind me here you see ten evidence markers down on the ground on the middle of butler in anacostia and the majority of those evidence markers pointing to what appear to be either beer cans or simply liquor bottle. every time detectives continue to scour the area here they on up the evidence markers even more. and continue to make this perimeter even bigger out here. now, at this point one of the most concerning things we've heard from sources here on the

scene is that they've found high caliber rifle rounds on the scene. and that's why when we showed up here we saw d.c. police strapped with ries themselves. as we understand no suspects in custody now and also sources telling us this potentially stem from a gun battle that happened an hour ago out here in anacostia. we're still waiting for more word and confirmation from d.c. police and that's the scene out here. we'll bring you the latest coming up at 11:00. now reporting live from southeast washington d.c., marina morocco, "fox5 local news". >> all right. turning to weather now as we take a live look outside. you can see the fog hanging over the white house. heavy rain moved out of the area and there's flooding concerns. sue palka has the latest. >> you're right. we had a half inch to inch of rain and you combine that with melting snow we had a lot of runoff and snow fog around the

region tonight as warmer air we have, 56 degrees here. it's continuing to promote a lot of fog and really poor visibility in some areas. here's the late easton where latest. you will have a dry start in the morning we're not expecting rain to push back into the region. unfortunately heaviest rain day fall over areas that also had considerable snow pack. you can see we had half inch in d.c.. closer to an inch up to north. and that's where the snow continues on the ground although we did an awful lot of melting today. there's still places that have a good 3 to 6" of snow and few other spots 6 to 12. those are areas that had flooding concerns tonight. what do you expect in the morning, well, we think that frontal boundary slow to move through will sweep through and take most tour through it and it's not going to freeze tonight. no concerns will there. and while we didn't hit the record we spoke with we are

talking about why we didn't get quite as warm in a little bit. overnight temperatures should stay in the 40s and fog does not appear to be going anywhere in a big hurry and how we have dense fog advisories until 7 in the morning it may be fog that shows you down. the whole remainerd in the area we had a lot of flooded roads and there's flooding going on at this hour. caityln fill us in on the latest. >> everything a results of the snow from over a week ago. outside right now, there's fog. there's a little bit of drizzle. virtually not much snow pack except for dirty piles along wisconsin avenue here. but i want to show video earlier today flooding troubles began early we had several rounds of heavy rain in the afternoon and this is video out montgomery country barnsville and brookville areas and heavy rain forced multiple road closures. also had reports out of purcel purcellville in loudoun county 1 to 2 feet of deep flowing

water coming out of the local creeks and streams and heavy rain, one, two punch earlier today. we had multiple reports. many flooded roads out of winchester avenue frederick county, virginia, total of 11 roads are closed in portions of frederick county. along with that numerous roads closed in rhetoric rick and carol country maryland. what we're dealing with is visibility. you can see it is low and 34567 patchy in some spots. we have flood warnings you can seen the scene out of frederick county in virginia and loudoun county in virginia and frederick and carol counties. he's are areas shade in green until early thursday morning. a lot of local rivers mainly north and west of d.c.. small creeks and streams all under river flood warnings through early saturday morning.

there is a flood watch still in effect for majority of the area although that has been trimmed back for d.c. and points south it's still in effect for northern counties baltimore up through pennsylvania. so that's the latest out here in northwest d.c. we'll keep you posts as we go through the rest the evening with the late easton flooding. let's send it back inside to shawn and tony. >> thank you, indicate inlynn. fire fighters are on the scene of an apartment fire. fifth three of the building m street northwest. investigators tonight are still looking into the cause. "fox5" is in prince george county tonight. police made an arrest in murder of a mother and her daughter. 25-year-old darin boz well johnson confessed to the crime and is held tonight without bond on murder charges. nashante davis and 2-year-old daughter chloe were shot and killed yesterday in front of their home.

tisha lewis joins us live with the latest developments, tish a. >> well, tony we're here with prince george county investigators and they were able to close the case 24 hours after the tragedy happened. you know what? it's a long road to recovery. and the journey is just getting started. how the country can prevent this type of tragedy from coming again. we sat down with angela brooks taken starts with recognizing red flags and risk factors for domestic violence. . >> 25-year-old darren bozwell johnson was arrested and charged with fatally shooting 2-year-old daughter chloe and mother nashante davis over a child support ruling. >> it's so unthinkable that a child support order would make you want to kill somebody. it's hard to know how to council a person through that. except to say, again, these are also risk factors where you had an angry reaction, for example, to a child support order.

unfortunately we have to say to people be vigilant. >> and been raged enough to do something. that's the message she also shared with us when we sat down with her moments after the news conference announcing bozwell johnson's arrest. >> it's not enough to be hangr hangry. we have to take action. we trained over 100 individuals in local churches how to recognize the sundz of domestic violence. >> it appears she was estranged from her alleged killer but the bestest daivrping to children are violent boy friends caring for the little ones. >> in those cases we talked about childcare. affordable childcare. where do you go to have subsidized childcare. if you have a young person in your family that needs help with their child and you're able to please let reach out. >> our hospital --. >> at this news conference state attorney also stressed the need to prevent nashante and chloe tragedy to happen again. >> when it's possible to kill
